To make 2008 a winning year, start now by recruiting your team players and setting up time for practice.
Begin by setting daily commitments that will lead to simple changes. Make sure these changes lead towards healthier habits, allowing you to enjoy weight loss and a lifetime of weight maintenance.
Gather your team. Begin by recruiting the best of players. Seek advice from family and friends who have been able to lose weight and keep it off. Also look to professionals who can help in guiding and supporting you. Using your team's advice, set a game plan that will lead you to a winning year of weight loss.
Share your plan with those who are close to you. When you discuss your winning approach with others, they will be less likely to sabotage your efforts. Let them know how they can help. It could be asking your spouse not to bring home ice cream, or finding a co-worker to go on lunchtime walks with you. Let them know when you are struggling and how they can support you.
When planning your strategies for success, don't forget that eating healthy foods will always be a winning goal. Start by replacing processed and convenience foods with a variety of fruits, vegetables and whole grains. Switch to a smaller size dinner plate, and always drink plenty of water!
Practice stress management. Meditation, yoga, and hypnosis work for many people. Making a date to get together with friends, or finding a time to practice an activity that increases your heart rate, will help in managing stress.
Practice always makes a winning team, and by being a good team player you can ring in this New Year with a winning game plan that will bring you success throughout the year.
