I hope this newsletter finds you enjoying the holidays, but remembering to keep on track as best you can. Let it serve as a little reminder that every day counts.
Are you overdoing it? Are you maintaining? Or are you right on track for continued weight loss? Remember that the best way to offset some of those extra holiday calories is to add extra movement to your day.
Whether it's structured exercise or just a little more walking, you'll burn more calories and boost your energy level to help you make it through the end of the year. It will help to release any stress that might build up during this very busy and exciting time of year.
Make some quiet time for yourself and spend it reflecting on how well you did with your diet and weight loss goals in 2007. Are you where you wanted to be at this time when you rang in the last New Year?
If not, in this New Year you may want to start tracking your progress in some of the areas in which you didn't do so well. For example, you might track the number of servings of fruit and vegetables you eat in a week, or how much time you spend exercising. Then you can repeat the survey every so often as you go through the year to check your progress.
While you're reflecting on what didn't go so well and what improvements you can make, be sure to acknowledge what did work well -- where you made progress. This will encourage you to do even better in 2008.
Enjoy the holidays, look forward to the New Year, and remember that every day counts.
Healthy regards,
