It's no secret, not everyone likes to eat as many fruits and vegetables as would be good for them, and their waistline. Here are some tips on how you can "sneak" fruit into your diet:
Vegetables are very low in calories and can be enjoyed plain or with low fat or non-fat salad dressing, cottage cheese, hummus, salsa or any other low calorie dip. Try carrots, celery, green, red or yellow peppers, broccoli, cauliflower, jicama, cucumbers, mushrooms, radishes, and yellow squash. Try something new every week!
Other than fruits and vegetables, low calorie popcorn or rice cakes can fit the bill when you're craving something salty. And if you must have a more traditional sweet, keep the calorie count down with a Fudgsicle instead of ice cream.
Sneaking high calorie foods into your diet typically leads to excess calories and little, if any, weight loss. Instead, get a step ahead of the game and "get sneaky" with fruits, vegetables, and other low calorie foods.
