You can simply enter 2 in the Servings box for 2 servings, or 3 if you're really hungry. But what if the serving size listed is 4.1 ounces and you want to eat 7 ounces? You don't have to do any math to figure out that the amount you want to eat is equal to 1.7 servings -- the Set Servings feature will do the conversion for you. Here are a few examples to demonstrate how it's done:
Apple Pie: 4.1 oz=117 g
Enter 4.1 in the Amount Listed box, 7 in the Amount Desired box, and click on the Set button. The correct serving size, 1.7, will appear in the Servings box and you can then click on the Calculate button.
Olives, black, pitted - large: 8 olives, 1.1 oz=30 g
That's what the list says, but no one eats eight olives. You need 10 to stick one on each finger! Enter 8 in the Amount Listed box, 10 in the Amount Desired box, and click on the Set button.
If you're measuring the olives in ounces instead of counting them on your fingers, you need to work with the ounce measurement. Enter 1.1 in the Amount Listed box, the number of ounces you plan to eat in the Amount Desired box, and click on the Set button.
You simply need to be sure that the number you enter in both boxes is the same form of measurement. So if you're measuring your olives in grams, you'd enter 30 in the Amount Listed box, the number of grams you plan to eat in the Amount Desired box, and click on the Set button.
Starbucks
All of the beverages are listed for the Grande size, which is 16 fl oz.
For the 12 fl oz Tall size, enter 16 in the Amount Listed box, 12 in the Amount Desired box, and click on the Set button.
For the 20 fl oz Venti size, enter 16 in the Amount Listed box, 20 in the Amount Desired box, and click on the Set button.
Aunt Mary's Applesauce (serves 5)
Complete recipes can be calculated with the Food Calculator and saved for future use with the Add Foods feature. See Add Foods Feature Instructions.
If you calculated the full recipe of Aunt Mary's applesauce, it serves five so you'll need to adjust the serving size. If you enjoy working with decimals, enter .2 for one serving (one-fifth of the recipe) in the Servings box, or .4 for two servings (two-fifths of the recipe).
If you don't enjoy working with decimals, enter 5 in the Amount Listed box, the number of servings you plan to eat in the Amount Desired box, and click on the Set button. The Set Servings feature will make the calculation for you.
Now, enjoy the applesauce. Aunt Mary will be proud.
