Hi everybody! Just wanted to introduce myself and hopefully get some feedback from the more seasoned members. Being one of the unlucky Americans who fell victim to the failing economy, I was laid off from my job a while back. Since then, it has been nothing but a combination of overeating and stress. I put on 20 pounds in the past 8 months, and I'm just not happy about it. Because I have been unemployed, my mobility has decreased as well (no job to go to + little money = not a lot of places to travel to). Thankfully, I have recently found employment with a great company, so this has been one of my big motivators to get back on track and lose the weight! Prior to being laid off, though, my lifestyle wasn't exactly healthy anyway. So, not only am I looking to lose the extra weight I've gained over the past eight months or so, but I am also looking to develop a more healthy lifestyle. I'm definitely not what you would consider "overweight" (25, no kids, 5'3", and 140 lbs.), but the weight gain is starting to show. It would be nice to get down to 125 or so, but I'm more concerned about being healthy, looking healthy, and toning my muscles. If I only get down to 130 and succeed at those other three factors, then I'll be satisfied. I guess the reason I'm on here is to gain some extra support from people who are in the same boat as myself! So, any advice and tips would be VERY much appreciated! I'll post more in the next few days. Thanks! Looking forward to talking with everyone, Attica |
