Well ran about collecting books for a new book exchange I'm setting up. So that must count as exercise.

Had a busy day at work. Will go for a walk once my tea settles.

Had a good day food wise

oats
soup, egg sandwich, (1 slice of wholemeal) light yogurt.
egg noodles stir fry with pork

I'm so tired with the clocks going forward for spring.

Got up early today and walked and jogged for 20 mins.......

Had another busy day at work. Went to see friends gorgeous new baby...ah how sweet and magical.

Had to eat today
oats
tomato soup, 1 egg sandwich with salad
yogurt
salad

Managed to resist the most tempting cream cake, chocolate and biscuits!!!! It now more pleasing for me to feel good about saying no than having the things I know could put weight on me.

Daughter asked me to go to Weight Watchers with her as she's loosing motivation. Although I've got my eating under control and can zip up my dress, I do need to loose a bit more weight to feel 100% comfortable. So will go................

Not looking forward to getting weighed as I became a bit obsessive about jumping on the scales. If the needle was up I'd have a miserable day if I lost I would have a good one!!! I suppose I don't have to jump on the scales every day. I will control myself...that's what it's all about, self control.

Two post in one!!!!

Had bad day a work yesterday, budget cuts making it impossible to operate and lots and lots of other hassle going on. I do like my job though it's the best job ever just hate all the things that go with it. Everyone seems to be blaming the recession on everything here but I think cuts were on the cards no matter what and it's a political decision. Our current politicians in control of our services Liberal Democrats are not in the slightest bit interested in disadvantage, equality or poverty which will result in the most vulnerable getting poor services and cause the gap to widen even more than it already is. I'll keep doing my bit which is small but I had to years ago have a word with myself when I used to get down about the state of things. I decided to 'do my best' that keeps me sane and motivated.Got busy fortnight with work and Easter programme for children and families should be challenging and fun. I am looking forward to it.

Went to WW tonight and weighed in at 154lb I'll keep going till I feel comfortable in my dress. I'm not really bothered by weight just want to fit into my clothes so that's my main objective. I hate all the weighing part of loosing weight. It probably goes back to when I became a bit obsessive and manic about the my weight and scales!!!

I'd love one of those little weight measurement that others on this site have but I don't know how to do it (i'm not very computer lit) I learn on a need to know basis with the computer, if I don't use it I loose it. If anyone happens to read this and knows where and how I can get one I'd really appreciate it.

I went to Salsa last night, it was great......so much fun and laughter and it's quite a good work out too.

People beginning to notice my weight loss which is something!! Over the weeks people have commented how well I look or how good I look but I'm getting the 'have you lost weight' remarks. I have lost about 24lb already so I'm getting there........

I'll post my weight loss every Thursday (note the weight loss) now that's what I can optimistic, positive, confident...........well I'm the one that's doing it eh? If I don't loose it will be down to me and no one else.

I'm away to chill with my guitar.....oh...forgot to say, my son gave me the most fantastic CD for Mother's Day. It's a Scottish female singer called Eddi Reader, she's singing Robert Burns poems to life. I particularly like a song called Wild Mountainside. I've learnt it off by heart and now need to find the chords so I can learn to play it on guitar. Does anyone know where I can find the chords for that song?

Spent day shopping with husband. He's going on a Stag Weekend to Germany and bought a kilt outfit complete with sporran......so Scottish!!!! Well it might have been century's ago but is only used on special, formal or sporting occasions. When I was young visitors who came over to Scotland used to be surprised to see hardly any Scottish people wearing the kilt!!! They also used to think we should know exactly who their long lost relatives were!!!! Talking about kilts, I bought this amazing tartan corset.....it's gorgeous. Good thing is, I can dress it up or wear it with jeans.....when I do my first gig with my guitar I'll wear that.....(don't know when that will be!!) but a least I have an outfit.

I have been avoiding eating out until today. I had to eat

Oats
Baked Potato with tuna/mayo and salad
small slice of carot cake (it was on special offer if you spent so much on lunches and I got it for my husband and had just a tiny, little bit) self control was truly tested......
Fruit
Fruit and natural yogurt

The centre of Edinburgh is such a mess at the moment, we're getting a new tram system and the whole of Princes Street which is our main street in Edinburgh just below our beautiful castle.....is fenced off and dug up all the way along..... I remember saying to myself when they first started digging up the road. I wonder why they're not doing it in stages ie digging up, preparing the road then laying the track. They were digging the street up for miles without laying any track. It was such a mess and created havoc with the traffic diversions etc. I also wondered what the Council would do if the contractor demanded more money and refused to compete the work and leave it all dug up, causing more delays and traffic jams. Well that's what happened!!! Can you believe that!!! stopped working and refused to lay the track unless their demands for more money were met. The work stopped for over 2 weeks!!!! unbelievable.....or maybe not!!!

Going to treat my feet tonight......got some nice cream.

Had a bad day today. Probably a combination of pressures at work and the grief issues I've not dealt with yet. I lost my best ever friend suddenly two years ago, then a few months later my mum. Last October my brother-in-law died suddenly then my dad a few days before Christmas. Then my dog!!!! It's been a bit of a roller coaster emotionally. I've been driving past my dad's house as I can't seem to go in. Anyway today I decided to go as it's shortly going up for sale. Most of his things have been cleared, there are just a few odd's and ends ready for the charity shop. I found one of his jumpers hanging on a coat hanger......couldn't stop crying and hugging it.....no smell of him though just fabric softener. The house was empty but full of memories. I was so lucky to have him as my dad. I'm grateful for that but miss him so much. We used to debate and discuss any and everything. It also brought afresh memories of my mum, I realise I haven't really grieved for her as we were all supporting my dad. I miss their steady, reliable, uncomplicated, contented lives they lead. I don't miss their love as it's still with me in my heart no one and nothing can ever change or take that away.

My heart is heavy, tired and sore
as memories of them come to the fore
Their reliable, steady, contented ways
their love remains with me every day

Today had to eat

oats
chicken salad wraps
chocoltate biscuit
snack-a-jacks
yogurt and fruit

Need to increase fruit and veg.

Lami, I'm glad you started another diary.  The last post of your first diary sounded so final.   Have you started the biking yet?   I too am having trouble sticking to an exercise routine.  I wish someone would start an exercise challenge.  (Hint)

Oh thank you Nancy, you are so kind and thoughtful. The reason I ended the first diary so abruptly was because I felt these pills were a waste of money and didn't want anyone to waste their money.

Ok Nancy, I'm up for a challenge!!! I've never done this before so how does it work? Let do it!!!!

I'm doing ok eat wise (I think)

Oats
Tomato soup, egg sandwich (2 slices of brown bread salad
light, low fat yogurt
3 jaffa cakes
Mixed Fruit (pineapple, apple, grapes)

I'm having great fun at work, (after last week it's feels light a weights been lifted) I've been busy planning all the activities for children and tomorrow a family trip to the beach to gather shells and anything else of interest!!!!
Next day we'll do an arts and craft session. I've got different shapes and sizes of boxes to glue the shells on to. It will make nice jewellery or nicknack boxes. I've also got little chocolate eggs, toy chicks with coloured paper that looks like straw.....so they can put them inside, a nice little Easter theme.

Let me know how the challenge works, what to do and where to start!!

Was at beach today and it was F R E E Z I N G..........brrrrrrr.....had arranged to take children and families to beach to collect shells today and an arts and craft session making jewellery boxes tomorrow. That was the plan.....the weather looked ok inland but when we got to the beach it was gales force winds and absolutely freezing. The kids had a great time collecting shells and stones not so sure about parents. Leasson learned never go to beach in Scotland until summer!!!!

Exercise walking along beach and gathering shells...jumping around to keep warm!!!!!

Had to eat

Oats
2 slices of wholemeal bread with extra light cheese spread
Fruit and natural yogurt
Oats (again) I couldn't be bothered cooking or eating salad!!

No Salsa tonight.......booo

Had a great week at work.....arts and craft session was a bit manic catering for babies, toddler, primary ages as well as adults. It took me all morning to wash/dry shells and set up all the activities and an hour to clear up when everyone left....glad it's a long weekend....I don't start back until Tuesday...that will give me a chance to recharge my batteries and start all over again!!!!

Went to WW and lost 2lb. Not long now until the Burlesque theme Hen Weekend!!! I've got a Moulin Rouge outfit which will probably do.

Had my hair cut and styled today, I always feel so good after having my hair done.

If weather stays fair I'll get my bike out and go for a cycle. I got one of those bike racks so I can take my bike to (flat) walkway at beach.

Hi Nancy, not sure where to reply to so will do it here.

What kind of exercise is best for strengthening and aerobics? My body will benefit from any kind of exercise.

In case anyone else is reading this, I'll stay here, cause it's awfully confusing otherwise.

Your Salsa dancing might be aerobic exercise, especially if it involves arm movement, anything that gets your heart pumping fast.   By strengthening, without special equipment,  I would assume things like leg lifts, crunches, pushups, weight lifting, old fashioned stuff like that.

I'm no expert on exercise, that's for sure, though I did do aerobics for 2 years long ago.

Let's set out a set of exercises that will enable us to meet our challenge to get moving.

I like aerobics and am willing to try crunches and old fashioned weight lifiting. I have some hand weights and those strap on weights.

What about doing an agreed time of aerobics, crunches, leg and arm exercises to get us started, we can increase this whenever we agree.....

Joined Nancy's Challenge today!!!

I dusted down treadmill and thought I could jog for 30mins!!! wishful thinking I ended up warming up gently with a slow walk for 5 mins, speeding up and then only managed to jog for about 15mins and walked for 20mins. I burned off 250 calories and managed 2.1miles.

So much for the jogging for 30mins!!! I'll need to gently ease myself into this as it's been about 6 months since I did any jogging.

I've been meaning to get started for months, I just don't know what was stopping me but it felt fantastic getting started, thanks for starting up this challenge Nancy.

Had to eat today

Oats
Baked potato and baked beans
ww Macaroni
strawberry's and natural yogurt

Sun was shining and I got into a white floaty skirt and white ruffle blouse, I have not had on for a few years. I don't know if it's the sun, fitting into my skirt or starting to exercise or a combination of all three but I felt really positive and happy all day.

Back to work tomorrow, still doing Easter Programme with Children & Families. Plan to do some jewellery making tomorrow and the boys if they don't want to do that, can glass paint, t-lights. There's lots of other activities going on during the session for them to dip in and out of.
Hectic but enjoyable and rewarding.

Managed to jog for 20 mins today I'm getting there!!! walked briskly for 10 and warmed up for 5mins. Added epilator (I'm not sure what it's called) and did 150 turns on that and 10 mins on vibrating machine (it wobbles flab around) Feeling a lot better now I've started exercising but really have to FORCE myself up to my treadmill each morning knowing I will feel better spurns me on. I also did some leg exercises and walked around Botanic Gardens about 2 miles. So I've made a start, it's maybe not the 30 mins jogging I had hoped for but it's a start.

Had to eat today

oats
soup, bread, bananna
egg sandwich
macaroni, cheese and tomato
fresh fruit and natural yogurt

Work going well these last two weeks with the Easter Programme. Invites out for wedding.... now I just need to loose a bit more weight to feel comfortable in my dress. That's me got everything I need for the wedding. Dress, jacket, hat, sandals, handbag, jewellery. Just to get nails, make up and hair done on the day!!! It's coming around so quick, I'm getting all excited. We've got the Hen Weekend in Belfast to go to in a few weeks. I've got a few adaptations for Burlesque theme. It should be fun.

Managed to complete my exercise goals again today. I have a real battle going on in my brain about exercising....negative thoughts to hamper my good intentions. I'm determined to keep going as long as I'm physically able. My brain can park for a while if it doesn't like it.

Easter Programme finished today.....I'm a happy tired, had a great 2 weeks working with children of all ages and parents/carers. Fab FUN......Going out tonight for a few drinks.....will take it easy as I'm working tomorrow and also got guitar lesson with grandsons.

Was out on the sauce last night.....good night.

Continuing with the 6 week fitness challenge and so far it's going really well.

Had trail hair done tonight bride, bridesmaids and me all different styles. Took my hat along to try it out with my hair curled.

Had to eat today

2 wheatabix
2 wheatabix (good for soaking up alcohol)
baked potato and cottage cheese/salad
Fresh fruit melon and grapes

Had to continually talk myself out of going for a McD's I had the most awful craving and desire for french fries and ice cream!!!! I know....anyway I kept telling myself how disappointed I'd be after it and thought about my MOB dress and how I need to loose a bit more weight for it to fit properly. That worked I came home and had the fresh fruit and it's sufficed my appetite. I don't know if exercising is making me want to eat more but I notice I'm hungry all the time since I started. I wonder if I should be eating more carbs?

Hi Lami,

I actually find that consuming carbs triggers a desire to eat more.  I have had good success switching to more protein/less carbs in my diet and actually I am rarely ever hungry.  I have largely quit eating fruit because the natural sugars (carbs) would make me want to eat and have a higher calorie content than veggies.

Great job beating the McD's craving!

Hi Lami.  I saw your post in my journal.  my lean proteins are:  turkey, chicken breast, and fish.  Halibut is so yum!  There is a good recipe for scallops on that section of the site.  I also eat eggs and bacon - for real - because the protein for breakfast really keeps me from getting hungry later in the day.

Here's what my typical food-day is like.  I hope this isn't TMI but you sounded like you were looking for specifics:

Breakfast:  1 egg (some times I add a 2nd egg white), 1-2 strips bacon, dry wheat toast.

Lunch: 1/2 to 2/3 cup chicken salad (no bread!) plus items from the salad bar: grape tomatoes, pepper strips, kidney beans, chickpeas, and maybe an artichoke heart.

Dinner:  Huge green salad (lettuce, grape tomatoes, red pepper strips, small amount of feta crumbles, light salad dressing).  5-6 ounces of some kind of meat (marinated chicken breast, meatloaf, Jennie-O Turkey burger patty) and 1/2 cup of mashed potatoes or rice or tortilla or bread (some carby side).

Hope this helps!!  I generally am right around 1200 calories if I stick to this plan, and I do get a decent-sized dinner 600 cals or so of something yummy.

Thanks MM, that's really helpful, I don't know what I'm doing wrong as even although I've started exercising my weight is staying the same...need to move these stubborn lbs.

Had to eat today

oats
boiled egg and two slices of seeded bread
mushroom pasta
banana

Slept in so didn't have time to exercise this morning so will do it once my tea settles.

Busy day at work getting programme organised for this term. Lots of funding constraints though.

A colleague at work asked if I'd like to got out running/jogging with her. I've never ran outside before (well since I was a lass) and even then I hated it. I thanked her for for asking me but admitted I was terrified. She is a real fitness freak and persuaded me the benefits of running outside. So, I've agreed to give it a go. I'll be so self conscious, I need to get new jogging trousers and a decent bra (which I need to get anyway) One benefit of exercising indoors is it doesn't matter what you wear eh!

Got my two favorite boys coming for a guitar practice tonight.

That is so fantastic Lami!  Way to go!  I am a firm believer in the power of exercise to transform your body and your mind.  Its self reinforcing, the more you do, the more you want to do it!  Keep it up.

Thanks MM its good to know that people who've been there understand the feelings I'm experiencing. It's a challenge but it's getting easier each time I do it. When I started last week each time I thought about the treadmill it took me all my strength to get going. One week later almost 2 and I just can't believe how positive I am about it now. I do feel so much better after each session and I like challenging myself pushing for the extra minute. When I first start I feel invincible and think I'll try for the hour. That's my next goal to be able to run non stop for 1 hour!!!!! that will be some achievement.

Today had to eat

oats
tuna sandwich (2 slices of wholemeal bread)
2 packets of 3 jaffa cakes
homemade scotch broth soup
salad

Will run later on tonight!!!!

Did best ever again last night!!!

Did the best ever again last night just 1 minute more running and 1 minute more on cross trainer. These few minutes are getting more difficult but I know they're possible so I keep pushing myself.

Daughter went for dress fitting today and looked absolutely gorgeous, stunning (I know I'm biased) but she really did. Only 6 more weeks to go so I need to push myself to get those extra pounds off.

Had to eat today

oats
home made soup/roll (large one)
kit kat
Salad

will do exercise later on tonight after my tea settles down!!!

Got guitar with my grandboys tomorrow.

Thanks MM I've been to a Hen Week before where the theme was Moulin Rouge that was a fantastic experience. What a stir we caused in Cyprus both the locals and tourists wondered what had hit them they thought we were a professional dance troupe. The bride to be was in red and black and all the rest of us 24 dressed in black. It was some sight we felt like celebrities with everyone taking photographs and some even wanting photos taken with us. Fantastic experience. So, I let you know if Ireland is the same.

Today I did over 60 mins cardio and feel my body beginning to take a bit of shape. I no longer have a battle to go onto my treadmill. I now know I'll feel better after I've finished and that seems to be enough to get me there now.

Went to Salsa class and had a great time, it is a fun way to exercise.

Had to eat today

oats
weetabix with semi skimmed milk
egg sandwich (2 slices of wholemeal bread)
fresh fruit
hot chocolate (options low cal)

Joined Nir's Independence Day Inchallenge, I'm stuck weight wise and hope this will spur me on.

Not much to report......

Going to have to be stricter with veg intake and see if that helps shift the excess weight. Started a new challenge and I hope this will make me more diligent in my eating habits.

Weigh in on a Friday.

Exercise going well and my body is beginning to take a bit of shape which is making me feel good about myself.

Book exchange is a HUGE success............lots and lots of books donated and also lots of books being taken. Wow...I just love when things go well at work. Got training sessions to organise for Youth Workers and Management Committee. I enjoy planning and preparing these too. Completed funding applications for summer programme so hopefully it will be as successful as the Easter one.

Got new corset for burlesque theme Hen Weekend. Adapted an old skirt into a burlesque one. I already had feather boa, fishnet tights (not stockings) but lost one of my gloves and garter so I've ordered those on Ebay. Its amazing how loosing a bit of weight and exercising can make you feel more confident in your appearance. It's helped me regain a bit of my old self back. I was beginning to pile the weight on and wearing clothes that disguised it (or so I thought) until I saw some photo's......anyway New Challenge New Me.....Thanks to Nir and Nancy I hope to reach my goals. No I WILL reach my goals. Positive psychology coming through....

exercise went well today, started strengthening exercises as well as running and walking so I hopefully will benefit from doing that in a few weeks time.

I agree with Mol, that is wonderful! You're making great progress on the endurance front.

I recommend you take time, too, to not only increase the duration, but the intensity as well - gradually, of course. I've found that alternating between shorter workouts with higher intensity and longer workouts with lower intensity really makes a difference. Walking is a wonderful exercise, both on the treadmill and off.

Also, kudos for dropping the Proactol! I'm sure that your body thanks you. With enough time and effort, we can all be healthy.

Best of luck, and remember to take the time on occasion to celebrate your achievements!

Thanks for the encouragement CA. I do plan to increase intensity when I feel ready (don't know when that might be) but I'm listening to my body and think because I've not exercised for many, many, many years it's telling me to take it slowly. I also know from experience if I go to fast too soon I'll end up giving up.

I've never ever been into running, I was always so self conscious so it's good to know I can go on the treadmill and no one can see me.

I'm already feeling better within myself and that's the most important thing as its from within that motivation etc comes.

I know what you mean about the Proactol, I'll put it down to experience and thankfully there were no (to my knowledge) any negative side effects. It's great to have control of my body, food and eating habits not some drug/pill. It's so important on the healthy eating and lifestyle changes that I take responsibility and control.

Well today I had to eat

oats
banana
salad, corn beef
fresh fruit and cream
homemade soup

exercised 30 mins running, 30 mins walking, 5 mins cross trainer.

Hi I'm back from Spain. We had a lovely relaxing, time. Did quite a bit of walking and ate fresh fruit and veg and healthy stuff. Didn't have one drop of alcohol. I've just weighed myself and I've lost 5lb. YIPPEE!!!!!

The recession is having a huge impact on our economy the exchange rate is less than a year ago making everything almost double in price since last year when we were there. So I'm glad we weren't having a holiday, holiday eating out every night and drinking.

I've fell of the bandwagon treadmill wise but will get back on.

Thanks Nancy, it really was not too difficult. I don't know about you but when I'm hot all I want to do is drink lots and lots of water and my appetite seems to go too. hmmmm....I might move to a hot climate and fade away.

Yes my MOB fits perfect now even the backside! It is a stunning outfit. I've just put it into the seamstress to get a few inches off the hem. Now that it fits its dropped and is too long.

We're almost there wedding wise. A Scottish Hen Night planned for Saturday night. As if a weekend in Belfast wasn't enough eh? This night is for everyone who couldn't make it to Belfast. We're not dressing up for this one (thank goodness) imagine wearing a burlesque outfit and bumping into work colleagues!!!! I tried to attach a photo of the Hen Weekend but it was too large but I don't know what that was about as I only attached one photo.

I've been catching up with all your posts, you live in the most BEAUTIFUL place....it looks just amazing and HUGE.

Had a fantastic time last night.......danced the night away until the wee small hours and am fit for nothing today. The weather has been so hot!!! fantastic and unusual. I can't remember the last time it was so hot in Scotland.

I've been trying to get back into my fitness routine but might just have to take it outside. I'll probably go a walk along the beach which is 5 mins from my door and it's beautiful.

Hi Nancy

Not forgotten about you!!! I've been up to my eyes in it with all the excitement leading up to wedding. Relatives arrived from all corners of the globe, so been busy catching up with everyone, tiding up, putting up and doing tasks right up to the night before and even on the day. It wasn't without it's drama!!!!!!

The wedding went like a dream!!! AMAZING if I could work this computer properly I'd post a photo but I had problems the last time. I could email you one if you like, let me know.

It was over all too soon, two years of saving and preparation and it went past in a blur. My daughter looked radiant, beautiful, gorgeous, amazing!!!! you name it she looked it. So did all the page boys, ushers, little flower girl brides maid and best man, not forgetting all the guests who made an extra special effort.

What made the day even more special was my brother (who's a vicar) took the marriage ceremony. He also used the opportunity like the good Christian that he is to preach the gospel. It was really touching.

GREAT to be surrounded by such a large, loving family. Its at weddings when you really appreciate how precious family and friends are. I'm getting a bit sentimental eh!!! ahhhhh I'm still on a high even although today is a bit flat after the HUGE build up and effort.

I had better keep up my fitness and healthy eating life style......I'll weigh in next Friday.

TREADMILL here I come............

I haven't got back on track......bought a new set of digital weighing scales and a sports top so all set for starting this Monday. Been eating like a PIG !!! going to hate weighing myself on Monday but I will.

I've got a week's holiday in Cyprus in September so I plan to get weight off for that....it's good to have a target.

Been busy at working organising the Summer Programme 6 weeks of fun for children and families.....it will be hectic but so much fun too.

Despite re-joining 6 Week Challenge I have done no intentional exercise. I had aching legs after a game of rounders in the sand.....it was great fun at the time...lots of walking but didn't get back into my exercise routine.

I'll need to get back on track my weight is ballooning as I keep saying to myself 'I'll start tomorrow' and tomorrow never comes as fine well I know!!!

I've got a holiday booked for September and want to get back to where I'm comfortable so I'll get my 'determined' head on again.

It's lovely weather here today, I've just finished cleaning the house, I just got my windows replaced what a difference....the place looks so much fresher. I'll need to decorate every room as against the lovely shiny white new windows the paint work looks cream instead of white. Bathroom is getting ripped out and gutted from floor to ceiling so I can't wait until that's finished too. Attic is next project. Now that all the kides are up, it nice to get things done by qualified tradesmen, we always made and mend and did things ourselves.

I finally got my son to show me how to put photo's from facebook onto a memory stick!!! I'm away to get some of the wedding photo's printed. Going for a meal with family tonight so start on my healthy lifestyle plan tomorrow........

It seem like ages ago since all the BIG excitement!!!!......

Had a fantastic night .....lovely meal and good company.

Today is a new day.......

Had crunchy nut cornflakes for breakfast

I've bought lots of fresh fruit so that will encourage me to keep eating good nutritious food.

left car up town last night so plan to walk into town approximately 2 miles. So I'm starting somewhere.

I've got my focused head back....whooooohoooooo.....

I walked into town and walked around shop sales all afternoon....ate fruit and met son in pub for lunch. Ordered a sandwich and it was stale so sent it back...ate banana instead. The walk has done me good as my legs are aching. I've got these sandals called 'fitflops' which claim to give you a workout as you walk. I'm not sure if my legs would ache anyway but they are really comfortable and certainly seem to be doing the trick.

I probably did about 4 miles today which is good for day one. Got lots of nice costume jewellery in the sale.

Had my two grandboys yesterday and we went to sister's chocolate shop.....had a chocolate caramel shortcake delicious. Went toy shopping it started raining inbetween so we ducked into lots of charity shops. The boys loved raking through all the toys and books.

Got home to my house which was covered in dust and stoor.....we're getting the bathroom renovated.....what a mess. So cleared up all that and then got ready for a night on the tiles with my sister and sister-in-law....danced the night away. (2 hours dancing) 5 hours drinking!!!!!

Took boys home today and have sat recovering from the excess from the night before!!!

I'm finding it so hard to get back on track. Every time I do something crops up and instead of taking that into account I got over the top and say 'I'll start again tomorrow' and the same things happens again as a result I've ballooned......

SO TODAY IS GONNA BE THE DAY THAT I GET MY EATING UNDER CONTROL

I got new scales and didn't use them because I didn't have a battery!!! Well, no more excuses for that I've got a battery and am just about to weigh in.

I'm dreading it but it needs to be done.

I'll get back to keeping my diary and also keep up with the challenges.

I did it......(stood on the scales that is)

I'm 10 stone 13lb which is 153lb.

I miscalculated last time and thought I was 163lb so I'm so delighted but still determined to get back on track.

I'm delighted to say I found out what the problem was with me not being able to change the size and colour of font!!! It's my laptop, it's an Apple MacBook. I know I said I wasn't very computer lit. but I do and have known for years how to change size, colour and font....It was a bit of a mystery until I tried my works computer and lo and behold it worked no problem, to say I was a bit relieved is an understatement I was beginning to think 'how stupid' are you!!!

Anyway I'm on a roll with my motivation and seem to have got my head in the right place again. Need to up my exercise though.

Having a great time at work over the summer weeks. It's been all go and makes me realize just how much I get out of doing what I do. I've got my enthusiasm and energy back after going through a very difficult time, I'm beginning to feel me again.

Just had some more good news my son who has been living with his partner for 10 years and has two sons and (expecting a little girl in October) has announced they're getting married next year. I'll need to keep my savings account open!!!

Not been very good on the eating and exercise front so will try to get that a bit more under control.

I'm going on holiday in September and bought this most AMAZING long maxi dress (it wasn't even in the sale) I took something back so only had to pay so much towards it. Even so it was more than I would usually pay for a summer holiday dress. It was the last one and a size smaller than I take but I bought it anyway. I was shocked when I tried it on and it fits me perfect. (it must be the lycra)

Had a meeting in HQ which is based in City Centre I don't know if you know that August in Edinburgh is 'manic' it's the International Festival and bursting at the seams with artists, musicians, actors and tourists from ALL over the world. It's an amazing atmosphere I love watching the free street performers some really talented people. I was also a bit annoyed about all the mess along Princes Street it's getting new trams what an upheaval though.

I've got visit to Edinburgh Castle with families some have lived in Edinburgh all their life and never been!!! It's an amazing place I went when I was younger but the other week was the first time I had a guided tour. It was facinating. The other week I was in Dunfermline and visited a cave where Queen Margaret prayed. Well there's a chapel built in Edinburgh Castle called St. Margaret's Chapel and apparently Kind David (her son) built it for her. (I liked the connection) It's the oldest building in Edinburgh (I think) I'll find out next week. I'm enjoying discovering and finding out all the things I feel I should know and amazed I don't. I also discovered that Queen Margaret wanted to provide a safe journey over to St. Andrew's (in Fife) which was a place where all the pilgrims went to worship. She built a ferry specially to take them over which is why North Queensferry and South Queensferry are called that!!! I worked in South Queensferry and didn't even think why is it called that!!! kick myself sometimes!!! So I'm enjoying finding out all these little facts that make up the bigger picture of Scottish history. I loved going to see Stirling Castle last year now there is so much to tell about that place......

I met friends for lunch and enjoyed sitting, eating and eventually drinking in the summer sunshine....lovely. Then we bused it into town and soaked up some 'culture' with all the 'lovies' at the festival...great atmosphere.

Went shopping for birthday present and looking a different mandolins. I didn't buy one just looked. Some amazing guitars.....every shop I went into had some young guys really giving it big licks on the guitars. I noticed one woman who was sitting gently, quietly trying out a guitar. I'd love to learn to play like a wizz and go in and do what the young guys do just to give them a bit of a shock...haha. I'd love to see their faces an auld codger like me letting rip...

Got my grandson staying over night we've got my friends grand daughter's birthday party tomorrow.

Well, I went to Edinburgh Castle today and was up and down and up and down the cobbled, winding roads....legs aching. It was a fantastic visit as I thought it would be. The highlight was the prison where they used to keep all the prisoners it was very moving seeing all the graffiti in different languages scratched on the door from centuries ago. The crown jewels were also good to see. I loved the little chapel Kind David I (I think) built for his mother Queen Margaret (the very queen who used to devoutly pray in the cave in I visited when I was in Dunfermline) Oh...I'm learning so many things it all very exciting.

The only down side was it started raining but in Scotland we're used to that and everyone had their rain mac's. (even most of the tourists had them)

I walked around that castle for about 3 hours. Then I had to go and buy trophies and medals for our pool, table tennis, beat the goalie and obstacle course tomorrow. It's the last family session before the schools start back next week! ALREADY!!!!

I'm going to take a few days holiday to recharge my batteries before we start back next term. (budgets permitting)

Schools go back next week and I will miss the opportunities I've had throughout the summer programme to increase my activity levels. I was able to get involved in games and sports. So I'll need to do what you've done Nancy and start a new routine and most importantly stick to it.

I'm going to see the Ladyboyz tonight at the Edinburgh Festival. We've apparently got the best tables in the venue. (I'll let you know) I've also got tickets to see Eddi Reader. (she's amazing) My son bought me her CD for mothers day and told me she was playing at the Festival. I asked him if he'd like to go for his birthday and he was delighted. On Saturday, I've got complimentary Spa vouchers for the hotel my daughter's wedding reception was held. I've never been to a Spa before and I'm not sure what to expect.

Oh aye, Scotland got 'gubbed' by Norway 4-0.

I went to the Spa at the Sheraton Hotel it was AMAZING....absolutely fantastic experience. If you've never been to a spa before you've got to try it. It was the most relaxing and luxurious place I've ever been to. All the senses are catered for sight, sound, smell, touch and taste at the healthy eating cafe. It had about 5 different types of sauna's, hot rooms, cool showers, ice, outdoor and indoor jacuzzi baths, swimming pool, lounge areas, aromatheraphy, all different types of showers. I will definately make a point of saving and treating myself to more of this. They also do beauty treatments so next time I will combine a few of those in.

I think these spa's should be available to everyone can you imagine how good people who are a bit stressed or depressed would feel after a few sessions. We would save millions of pounds in the long run.

I've just bought a mandolin and don't have a clue how to play it. It took me ages to tune. I'm now learning a few chords from the internet. It's got a lovely sound (well it will have once I play it properly)

Oldest grandson is 9 on Thursday (already) where does the time go..... I'm thinking of taking him for BMX session. I think he'll like that.

Ate very, very healthily today.

Had another relaxing day today. Was up at 5am couldn't get back to sleep!! cat napped this afternoon and played guitar on and off during the day.

Been looking up Spa's it's my daughter birthday in October and we'd like to repeat yesterday's experience but maybe in London or Stobo Castle. I've been checking out special offers but they're so expensive. If we go to London we'll have to pay for travel, accommodation and a theatre show. I've got Cyprus in September so I don't want to over stretch my (now empty after the wedding) saving account.
It's a nice idea but maybe we should save and plan it rather than rush and cost cut. Mind you after all that's happened with so many deaths recently, I'm developing a here and now attitude to life, we just don't know what tomorrow holds.

I'm off work Mon and Tue my body is telling me to relax after all my rushing about during the summer programme so that's what I will be doing. Probably do a clear out and recycle my old clothes (again).

Might go for a drive and walk......or join the gym......

Today I bought some new gym clothes in the sale. I plan to join the gym, my daughter is a membership advisor so I'll get a discount for family. What has been stopping me you might ask? Well about 2 years ago I joined and started off well but then started to wane and I ended up paying for a membership I hardly used. Even although it was discounted it was still a waste so I gave up.

Anyway, today is a new day and I've bought the stuff I need to hopefully blend in. When I did exercise at home one of the best things was it didn't matter what I wore or looked like. Not that anyone in the gym will notice or say anything but it's important to feel positive (otherwise I'll give myself an excuse not to go)

Walked for 60 mins today.

I bought myself a bag of 'healthy' mixed fruit and nuts. The only problem is I can't stop eating them. I knew I'd do that when I bought them. So I'll need to be stronger next time and not buy them until I can control my want to keep eating them. (greed) pure and utter greed!!!!

I lost a pound too....I bet it's back on. I'll start afresh tomorrow and I've given the rest of the bag of nuts to my husband and son.

Had another totally relaxing day...played guitar and bought a new dress from Ebay. I start back at work tomorrow and have a full days training to look forward to. I really am looking forward to that.

Didn't go to gym today. My daughter is setting up a special family deal for me so I'll start tomorrow. Did walk for 30 mins today though.

Booked grandson into BMXing I didn't know but he's getting a new BMX bike for his birthday so an hours tuition will be very apt.

I've got two nights out in a row this Friday and Saturday. Im working Saturday during the day too. It's ladies night Friday and husbands and wives Saturday. Should be good.

Had a good training day. It's all about emotional health. It's an amazing topic so much in there. Basically we need to feel loved, nurtured and care for. It's not rocket science but there are other factors that get in the way of some parents doing it. So we need to ensure there are 'protective factors' that is external positive influences to increase a child's or adults emotional well being.
They asked us to think of someone who was a positive role model or champion for us when we were growing up. Then we had to list their qualities, everyone's champion had more or less the same qualities. Caring, Kind, non judgemental, made them feel valued, kindness, patient etc. etc. Then we had to consider the impact and opportunities we have to be a champion or positive role model.

There a few more session to go more in depth and so far it's made me think.

'I think therefore I am' (I think, I hope)

Just had a busy day at work planning for next term.....lots and lots to do and not enough budget or time to do it...love the challenge of trying though.

Going to see grandson tonight he's 9 today.

The weather here is usually wet but this summer has been a washout.

Well...well...well....

Guess what time this lushy lady got in on Friday night after dancing the night away? 3.45am! I thought the place shut at 1am but unknown to me it had a late license for the festival....can you imagine dancing for all those hours...it was great fun. I had to get up and start work by 10am....I could have seen that far enough. Just as well there was a trip and we were left with only a few language classes going on. I wasn't very productive.

Yesterday I picked up my two grandsons and my son is sitting for them while I go to a cabaret show with my husband and his family. Another great night good comedian and female singer.

Resting today. Was going to take my grandson for a BMX lesson but he's not very confident on his new bike yet and wants to go for a lesson when he's improved.

So....what are we doing today. There's a speed boat race at Ocean Terminal....I could tidy up....I could do lots of things.

back into the swing of things at work, planning, preparation, evaluations and budgets.

Weighed myself this morning and was pleasantly surprised to see that I'd stayed the same weight after such a heavy weekend. So that's a good sign, must be doing something right. (but plenty wrong)

I'm meeting up with friends this Friday so that will be another heavy night well it doesn't have to be. I'll wait and see......

Going on holiday soon!!!! can't beleive it!!! so soon already!!! it's nearly there...I've not really been consciously thinking about it but it on 3 weeks away....how wonderful...hot sunny climate.....Y E S!!!!

Another round of planning and budgets.....it's getting headachy but very productive and necessary.

Looking out my bikini's got lots of different styles and colours I need to have a try on and clear out. There's so many that just don't fit or don't suit.

Got to deliver a Speak Easy course for parents it's to provide parents with information and ways of speaking to their children about sex and relationships. It's a great course and I wish it was around when my children were smaller. So I've got to plan and prepare for that. As we have one of the highest rates of teenage pregnancy in Europe there is evidence that when parents speak to their children about relationships and sex from an early age the children tend to delay having sexual relationships and also have lower abortion and pregnancy rates too. It is all about building up a relationship where you can discuss and encourage discussion using appropriate language for the age.

Also got to prepare an Option & Choices Course for a group of women.

Was up at 4am this morning. I couldn't get back to sleep so got up had breakfast and when husband left at 5.30am I went back to bed and slept sound until 8am. Feel exhausted now.

Had a terrible team metting at work.....it's awful at the moment moral amongst staff is rock bottom. The only way I'm keeping an even keel at work it to concentrate on it and not all the negatives. It's hard though.

Well...........been eating for 4!!!! had pasta, garlic bread and fruit crumble over and above all my other meals and snacks. Today I had chocolate, chocolate, chocolate......maybe I'm comfort eating...hmmmm......I probably am.

Tomorrow's another day, I think I have an early night and start again.

Just weighed myself this morning for Nir's new challenge and was SHOCKED to see I'd put on 4lb. I thought having flu was supposed to suppress appetite but I seem to be eating any and everything.

I'm glad Nir set this challenge and made me step on the scales or I would have just kept over eating and the weight I so slowly took off will just keep increasing.

Once I've over the worse of this flu I plan to start exercising and eating healthy food.

I have to take responsibility for my action and realise that everything I put into my mouth is my choice no one is forcing me to do it.

Hi Lami, I didn't know you had a diary, I posted a reply to you on the exercise challenge, bottom line....while you're sick your weight is not going to be very accurate so relax,  try and not eat a lot of junk but at the same time when you're sick is not the time to stress. I think you will find you're weight is not that much above where it was when you first took sick. Hope your feel better soon.

I just started a diary yesterday myself hoping to get back on track and I have no excuses, just plain over eating.

Thanks Hiker, thanks for you encouraging words, you really are a caring person. I'm afraid I have been overeating!!! all the wrong foods too.

It's ok though. I had to go to the bank today and also get some food shopping even although I'm still not 100% bills have to be paid and food bought. I resisted all the tempting no, no foods such as chocolate biscuits, desserts and ice-cream!!!! bought lots of fresh fruit and veg. plan to make a pot of home made soup. It's getting a bit chilly here and I feel home made soup time coming on. I love home made soup and it really is filling and warm and comforting that I can usually loose weight once I get into it.

My mind is getting there and that for me is THE most important thing. I know if my head is right the body will follow. So positive thoughts and images of how I'll look when I fit into all my clothes that are too tight. I did it for my daughter wedding and I can do it again. I don't want to mention the C word but I hope to fit into my LBD by then.....

I'm going to start keeping a record of what goes in my mouth.

Breakfast
bowl of rice crispy and semi-skimmed milk
1 mug of coffee
glass of water

Lunch
beans on two slices of white toasted bread
natural yogurt and pears in natural juice
Mug of Tea

Dinner
home made split pea soup made with carrots, potatoes and onions
natural yogurt and prunes
glass of water
glass of diet coke

Supper
2 kit kat fingers
1 mug of tea

Not very good start!!! It's not until you see everything you've eaten listed.
If I'm to loose weight, I'm going to be honest and put everything that goes in my mouth down.

I'm hoping to start back to work tomorrow and plan to start exercise at the weekend once I'm properly over the flu.

I need to get my positive brain into gear I know that once I start and stick to my plans I am usually motivated to keep going.

The brain is such a powerful organ....I've just left a post on MM diary about how I stopped smoking and also eating chocolate for 1 year. It brings it back afresh that when I want to I can........so no more pathetic excuses it's all out determination, will power, mind over matter, control whatever, I'm going to throw everything into this challenge and want to really push myself to see how much I can achieve in the coming weeks and months.

Just refused a piece of my son's pizza....thought about all the grease soaked into the cardboard box and that is enough to put me off. I'm going to have to devise little strategies like this whenever I have a compulsion to have something I know I shouldn't. I stopped eating chocolate for a year when I thought about something that made me gag everytime I wanted a bit of chocolate. I really was addicted to chocolate and had to have a bit every day. In order for this trick to work I visualised something that makes me gag and then immediately thought about the chocolate because I had a bad taste in my mouth and felt squeemish I didn't fell like chocolate. It's a fantastic little trick. It works really well when the cake in the coffee shop is shouting 'eat me, eat me' you immediately think about it crawling with spiders, ants, flies or anything that makes you want to throw up.....

wheatabix 2 and sami-skimmed milk
cheese salad brown roll
kit-kat biscuit
home made soup
natural yogurt and prunes
2 nectarines

Still not feeling very well, I expected to be over this flu symptoms by now but my head is still heavy, throat still a bit sore (more with coughing) and I've developed the most annoying, irritating cough. It feels like a heavy cold now.

Eat wise today:

weetabix 2 and semi skimmed milk
coffee
egg sandwich (2 slices of wholemeal bread)
1 kit-kat
diet coke
prunes and natural yogurt
peach
bowl of fruit and fibre with semi-skimmed milk

Playing Fields of Athenry on guitar, its a sad song about a young Irish man who is being sent to Botany Bay as punishment for stealing to save his family from starving to death. .....you can hear it on You Tube.

Had a busy day at work. Did an arts and craft session with 5-7 year olds today. It was hectic but very enjoyable. Also preparing a Family History session to get people started looking up their family tree. It's facinating, I like all the social history aspects of family history for example how occupations change with the times. The population shift from the country to the towns and city's with the industrial revolution. There's so much to find its just knowing where to look.

Overate today!!!

weetabix (2) semi-skimmed milk
kit-kat
home made veg. soup
natural yogurt and pears
scone, cream and a pot of tea
fruit
lasagne

Well over calorie budget!!!

Start all over again tomorrow.

Lami, I love your attitude, "start all over again tomorrow", that pretty much sums it up. We do our best every day and on those days that don't work out so well....no big deal, just get up, dust ourselves off and keep going. We are trying to make lifestyle changes, it sure isn't going to happen overnight. Glad you are in such a positive frame of mind.

Thanks Hiker, I sometimes lack discipline.....I was about to type 'need to try harder' but I'm beginning to sound like an old school marm....

Today was busy at work, lots going on.....changes, staff shortages due to holidays, illness and bereavement.....lots of issues connected to part time sessional workers hours being changed!!! The list is endless. To cut a long story short I'm having to cover and I'm knackered. I'm off to sunny climate on Sunday and can't wait.

today ate

weetabix (2) semi-skimmed milk
homemade soup and bread
natural yogurt and pear
lamb and veg. stew
mug of tea
small trifle

Oh dear probably over again......need to get disciplined.....but going on holiday and will knuckle down when I get back.

After searching every nook and crannie I found it in the place I was sure I had put it.....in my bedside drawer it has slipped down the back even although I check and rechecked 100 times....I turned the house upside down looking for it. WHAT A LOAD OF JUNK when I come back from my holiday I'm de-cluttering properly. It's ridiculous all the rubbish...anything ok will go to charity shop all else will be binned.

Ok....now I have to clear up all the mess I've made looking for my stupid passport......

Calm...calm....you're going on holiday....calm relax.....

I've had an eventful month......whilst on holiday an abcess caused me great pain. I had to have an emergency op on return and have been recovering slowly. I also discovered I had a low blood count which could explain why my hair is falling out and my tiredness!!!

I've started eating more red meat and green veg and iron tablets. So hopefully I'll get my blood and energy levels up. I thought I was feeling low because of all the bereavements too.

Anyway, it's good to be back. I want to stay positive despite feeling low and I've joined the gym (at last) I now just need to GO!!

Been busy planning and preparing a training session and then delivering it yesterday. It went really well got excellent feedback in the evaluation forms from participants so that is encouraging to know we're doing something well and worthwhile.

Was at a fancy dress last night it's an annual event (but this year one week early) I went as Anthea from Abba, blond flick wig, sparkly flared jumpsuit and massive white platform boots. There were some fantastic costumes. I did used to prefer when people made their own costumes so much creativity and imagination used to go into them. I wonder if we're stunting our children's creativity when we buy instead of encourage them to come up with ideas. Maybe not, it's just a thought.

Starting my healthy eating again tomorrow! Have not done too well last week so I'll start afresh tomorrow.

Working today, had grandsons and going out tonight so will dance the night away to make up for (no gym)

oats with semi-skimmed milk
cheese and salad brown roll
McD's fries (large) and Caramel Sundae
2 ripples

Bought lots of fresh fruit and veg and will keep on track with healthy eating from tomorrow.

I drove past my dad's house today and wept....it's a coming up for a year since he passed away. I usually take the long route and didn't think until I was almost there. It probably will get easier but what a miss he is.

On a more positive note I'm expecting my first grand-daughter any time.....we're all excited and so looking forward to that.

My healthy eating is on hold until tomorrow when I start Nir's Holiday Challenge. I've not gone to OTT but I'll really knuckle down tomorrow.

So far I've had:

oats & semi skimmed milk
glass of fresh orange juice
bacon (trimmed off all the fat) roll
2 packets of 1 caramel and 1 berry snack-a-jacks
just going to have chicken, veg stir fry

exercise and watching my intake of food starts seriously tomorrow. I've gained almost a stone since my daughter's wedding in June.

OK.....diet starts seriously today!!! I weighed myself and stayed the same weight...160lb.

Today I received special delivery of the suit I purchased for my son's wedding in June 2010. I can't get the skirt over my hips!! Now that has to be one of my most motivating factors to loose weight to get that skirt over my hips, then zipped up and then fitting perfectly. It 2 sizes smaller than I currently am so it's a big challenge. I remember saying after I put myself under the same pressure for my daughter's wedding 'never again'. But it did sort of work and I did feel good on the day, so here I go again.

Detoxing today and going to gym with daughter tonight.

Oh...the outfit is stunning!!! All I need is a contrasting hat, shoes and bag.

Hey Lami, I bet you are going to look fantastic at that wedding. Sometimes we have to put ourselves under some kind of pressure, actually don't think of it as putting yourself under pressure, just think of that suit as a "motivatonal tool"

two plums
1 banana
1 apple
beef curry and rice (other half of last nights meal)

Soooooo hung over today. I over did the wine last night!!! Was very good and didn't have any nibbles. I couldn't resist stepping onto the scales this morning thinking I had stayed the same after drinking all the wine but I am down 3lb and I don't officially weigh in till Monday. So pleased, it's really encouraged me to keep at it.

Had to eat so far today

Scot's porridge oats
apple
oat biscuits with Phillidelphia light, beetroot and 2 boiled eggs
natural yogurt with 3 kiwi fruits

I'm really sticking to this and the more I do it the better I get a resisting temptation. I'm able to dismiss any thoughts of chocolate etc before they even get a chance to tempt me.

So far so good.

Had to eat today

Alpen with semi skimmed milk
bran biscuits with Philladelphia Light spread
hot chocolate

I don't feel very hungry cooked pizza, lasagna and fritters for family with apple pie and custard and didn't have ANY!!! Result! daughter brought delicious chocolate cakes and I refused that too, so motivation still high.

I joined the gym and love the cumber bike so much I looked locally for a 2nd hand one and got one for £45 what a bargain they're about £300. It's in my living room and I managed to peddle until I got to 250 calories. I'll up that tomorrow. My husband who is really overweight is also peddling away on it. So we'll maybe get a wee competition going!!! Whenever I don't get to the gym or probably as well as the gym I'll sit and peddle away. The part I like best is the back rest it really is so comfortable. Time flew watching tv and just peddling........I hope my interest lasts. I suppose if I start to see result I'll want to do it all the more.

Had grandson over this weekend, their mum is exhausted with the new baby and I know how that feels. The boys are not bother really. Wee one is just adorable and so cute and cuddly it's wonderful holding her and watching her face.

did 150 calories on my bike this morning just going to go on it again now try to beat last nights 250 calories. i had to eat today

alpen and semi skimmed milk
fresh salad with fetta cheese
6 bran biscuits

I've replaced bread with bran biscuits. I'm used to having sandwiches for lunch so it's a new challenge not to just pick one up at lunch time. I was busy at work today so didn't have time to go shopping for fruit so didn't have any today. I did have lots of fresh veg in the salad.

I've not been feeling hungry today and can't work out why not as these last two days I've not eaten as much I usually would. It feels good to be back in control and able to resist temptations. That is probably one of the hardest parts of watching what your eating, resisting temptation. I'll trying to keep up the momentum with my good 3lb loss last week. New week, new me!!!

60 mins in one go on the bike today. I usually do 2 x 30mins one in morning and other in evening. I'm going out tonight so did two in one and was really pleased I had the stamina.

Had a wee shopping spree today there was 20% off and I bought some of the things I liked but thought they were a bit pricey so with 20% off I couldn't resist. I know it's a total rip off I'm sure they put the prices artificially high to start with knowing they will have the 20% off and customers will come in to buy and it's probably just the prices they would have charged to begin with. But hey, I work hard and it's nice to get a treat.

Had to eat today

Porridge
2 x satsumas
1 cheese savoury bap

I also did a detour at the shop I knew I'd go into buy yogurt covered raisins. There is nothing wrong with yogurt covered raisins its just I eat and eat and eat them until the whole packet is finished and they don't do small packets its the huge big ones!!! So I came home and had a satsuma, I'm about to have an apple.

I'm going out tonight dancing with my sisters so it will be a heavy drinking session too. I'll have spirits and diet coke..that should keep the calories down a wee bit. I tried on this most beautiful dress today it was soooo glamerous and gorgeous but it was a bit pricey for the wear I would get out of it so I put my sensible head on and didn't purchase it.

I might try ebay and see if there are any similar dresses for sale there.
