Hello everyone. I'm 16, 150lbs and looking to be around 130. I've only lost 2 or 3 pounds since I started at the beginning of February, and I've managed to figure out where my greatest downfalls are. From when I get home to after dinner is my greatest problem time - I always end up snacking on something I shouldn't, whether it's chocolate, a cookie, chips, or just leftovers from dinner. I need someone to give me some pointers to help me through this rough spot and make it better, or smack me on the wrist enough times until I get it!!! I'm also trying to exercise more. I try to do Wii Fit every day for 30 minutes, and I have a martial arts class twice a week for about 2 hours, but I still don't feel that this is enough - the Wii Fit is fairly low intensity, and I'm hoping to up my time to an hour a day at least. However, this is not a primary goal right now because of school and extra-curricular classes getting in the way!!! When I can I will, but what I'd really like is to watch my calorie intake better. I've been keeping a food diary for about a month now, but simply writing down what I'm eating isn't helping me stay on track - I still swoon under the mighty cookie's magical powers. I also estimate on my calories to try and cut down, because of my waning willpower. I don't think that continuing this way will lose me much more weight, and I would really like it off. So please, anybody out there who wants an acountabillibuddy!!! I can only contact through the internet, here, or through e-mail, or elsewhere. I don't IM and I don't text. So, is anybody at all interested? |

Hey! I'm fine with this title unless you want to change it. I'm so excited for both of us and the weight we'll lose together :). I haven't weighed myself yet for today but when I do I'll post, I'm hoping for 154! So what types of things do you do to lose weight? Any particular foods or exercises? For me I try to go the gym at least 3 or 4 times a week and try not to eat after 7pm (it can be hard!) HAHA! |

Haha, I'm excited too!!! This morning when I weighed myself I was at 149, and at the hockey game tonight I will be walking between periods, as I haven't been doing much else today!!! No particular foods as of yet - I'm just trying to encourage myself to eat more veggies and fruits, and limit the meat and breads. My biggest downfall is that I don't watch my pasta portions - just one portion is so small!!! I love going for walks around here, it's so beatiful where I live, but I haven't been doing so lately because it's so cold out! When the snow melts I will also be helping my mom break in some horses, so that should help with my exercise. I try to do my Wii Fit everyday and my martial arts twice a week, but I would like to replace the Wii Fit with other outdoor activities because they interest me more (I'm just waiting for spring first!!!). Sooo.... yeah, I will be trying to increase my exercise up to an hour, and changing it to other things than my low intensity Wii Fit. :) |

Well I'm 154.2 today! This makes me happy :) I'm trying to eat more raw fruits and veggies too except I'm not a huge fan but I really like apples so I've been trying to eat at least one a day. I've been going to the gym everyday too because I'm on spring break for 2 weeks but then once school starts again it gets very hectic. That's so cool, you have horses?! Today it's about 65 so it really feels like spring and the snow is starting to melt (YAY!) I can't wait to go running, OUTSIDE! Hope you're having a good healthy day :) |

Hello Grace! Ah, it's so nice that it's the weekend. Only it looks like it's going to be winter here a little longer, as it's snowing outside!!! Oh well, usually it's warmer outside when it's snowing anyway. And I'm glad I'm not the only one who is rushing around with school! It's hard for me to get in my exercise with my classes. I don't get spring break for another week yet - it will be a welcome change of pace. Today hasn't been the best nutritionally wise, but I also haven't overeaten too much so... that just means that there is less temptation in the house now. |

aw thats okay! It happens to me sometimes too. :/ and your mom is officially the coolest mom for the awesome job that she has!! okay, so my stats for the week: Calories Consumed: 10,965 (approx.) Hours of Cardio: 3 hrs. 35 minutes Weight Loss: 1.4 pounds So for some reason I was 155 today even though I was 154 yesterday, i think it's because I weighed myself 2 hours earlier than I usually do so I should still be 154. HAHA. I wish you best of luck for healthy eating tomorrow!! I'm hanging out with some friends and we're going out to eat so I'm going to have to resist the temptation! |

Ah - yesterday was good eating-wise, just not so good otherwise! Sorry for not making it here yesterday. Here's my food diary for yesterday: Banana, flavoured water, part of a red pepper, apple, pear, granola bar, orange, milk, piece of pie, crackers, and a V8. All told, around 1100 calories. All because I forgot my lunch. :/ I was hungry all yesterday! I've danced (DDR :) ) the last two mornings for 15 minutes. I find it wakes me up quite efficeintly, so I'll continue with that habit! I had my martial arts last night, and tonight I will lift weights. And CONGRATS on the pound and a half loss!!! You're doing great! |

I love DDR! I haven't played that game in SO long though. I think I have it in my basement. HAHA, I'm gonna look for it today! AND congrats on your eating! I was pretty good for the whole day and then at night I needed a chocolate fix but when I weighed myself this morning I still went down a 1/2 pound! I'm going to try to eat more fruit and veggies today since I've been lacking in that department. |

Well it says I've gained a pound this morning. :( Oh well, just means I have to work harder! Today for lunch I'm bringing more veggies and less other stuff as well, because the breads/grains are the culprit I think! I just never notice that I'm eating more of them than I should. Breads are the worst for me too! I try eating Thomas Whole wheat english muffins - their only 100 calories. So I'm at 151! Almost past the 150 hump. AH! I'm meeting with friends today so it's going to be hard day for me. It's always hardest when you're with others, or at least for me anyways! Hope you're doing well :) |

Hiya Grace. Today was not a great day. :( I was doing pretty well, but when we went to the hockey game tonight I had a grilled sandwich (at least better than a burger), onion rings, and ice cream. The ice cream was heavenly though because I haven't had it in a while. :) This morning I was down to 149 - yay! So, how did your day go? Was it as hard as you thought it would be with your friends? Heya Grace! Been running around all over the place during Spring Break. Today I'm finally back on track with my eating habits I think. I got a yoga ball yesterday, so hopefully that will motivate me to do some more exercises as well! My weight has really not changed at all - the last time I checked it was still 149. ...I have been emotionally eating for the last 2 - 3 weeks, and weighing myself right now produced a result of 157. I really feel like a failure right now....hope you're doing well, and hope your midterms went well too. |

...Okay! Maybe it's just the end of winter blahs. Spring is around the corner here (and hiding well), which means a fresh start after all. So today I will start over again! Yes! :) Okay so I finally weighed myself today - it's been about 2 weeks and I'm exactly 155. I thought I would weigh more so I'm not terribly disappointed. Anyways I made a plan last night that should work and this morning I had Go Lean cereal which should keep me full until lunch. Hope you're doing well!! |

Heya Grace! Hope you're doing well. :) School's being quite stressful right now, but I feel a lot better today. I got a diet book and took a 5 day assessment - it really opened my eyes to just how much junk I eat! So now I feel better, knowing what I do eat, and how much better I will feel when I change it! Today was very good - mostly fruit and vegetables. I feel much better now than I do when I eat junk food - I think I'll write that down and put it somewhere to remind myself of this feeling when I get a craving! Here's to our healthy changing! |

Today has been a very good day - been resisting the pulls of the junk, and instead had a nice healthy breakfast that included mostly veggies. Feeling good so far - yesterday was a huge accomplishment, I actually resisted pizza! (le gasp) That was a HUGE move for me. Hope you're both doing well - here's to another healthy day! |

thanks!! Where are you from? I live in New York City and today was the most beautiful day of the year so I spent a couple of hours in Central Park walking around so I got lots of exercise and had fun while doing it! I'm going to weigh myself tomorrow morning as well. Hope you both are having happy healthy days :) |

Hi Well I am From South Africa. Wow you took a walk in central park that must have been fun. You so lucky, I have not been able to work out for about a month now, but today hopefully, I will walk at least 6km's. I also weighed myself and i haven't gained or lost weight just maintained it, well i am happy with that because its not like i tried to lose any weight, but as from today, i will start my plan. Okay so I'm down to 153! I walked a lot yesterday and didn't overeat (finally..) So if you girls want, we can have a FRIENDLY contest to see who loses the most weight every week. Hi guys! Grace, that sounds like a good plan - I definantley need some motivation here! I'm 6 pounds above where I started - not a good thing! I have to work my butt off to get down to where I want to be, so that friendly competition just might be what the doctor ordered. And as for any other ideas...hmm. To tie into that, we could change specifications every week - eat so many veggies, exercise for so many minutes or something, and then report it back here. If I come up with any other ideas, I'll let you guys know. So then our start off point is this Sunday? Probably a good day to start it, then I might not be so eager to overstuff myself with Easter dinner and chocolate. :P Hope you guys are doing well! |

Hey guys. I'm curious - what are your worst offenders? Mine are chocolate, baked goods, ice cream products, and peanut butter. I have such a hard time resisting them! That, and portion controlling dinners where I can serve myself - I always serve myself too much! Maybe one of our challenges could be to go a week (or even just a day or two, depending on how prevalent they are!) without our worst offenders? |

Hi guys How you doing? I just got back from a short holiday and i ate so much i feel sick. So i think that starting our new resolution is a brilliant plan!!!!!! So we weigh in tommorow, and begin a new journey. It's a friendly comp so thats cool, and i think that idea of how many mins a week we excercise for is also a great plan we should compete with that too, and also the junk food consumption, like how much of whatever junk we eat in one week. That is three good games for the three of us, and we can each try to win at least one or all of the games, that's very exciting..... i think i am ready for this healthy plan sounds fun and we can do it..... how hard can it be, i mean it's just food right? Hey guys (wow I'm posting a lot lately! Not that that's a bad thing...right? :P)! I went riding today - WHOOHOO! It was a bit slippery and the horses were kinda like 'guh, do I really really have to?' But it was fun, and it was so nice to get out. My legs are pretty sore now though... I Wish I Was Me, I agree for the goals. So, we'll all have different goals for a week, and then use the same exercise/eating habit guidelines? Does this sound good to everyone? I've been bad today - I've eaten nothing but chocolate since my breakfast of a carrot and celery stick. I refuse to eat until dinner now, and I'm hoping against hope I'll be able to control myself in the face of turkey and stuffing! Hope your guys' Easter's are going well! Cheers. |

hey girls! okay so yesterday I weighed in 154 and I"m still 154 today. My goal is to be 152 by the end of this week. Yesterday was pretty good for me. I walked 5 miles and ate pretty well except I had a slice of pizza (it was soo hard to resist!!) I use a pedometer (it counts the number of steps you walk daily - you should walk about 10,000) and I was able to walk 15,000 yesterday! I guess for tips on controlling appetite, you should in the beginning of the day mark out exactly what you are going to eat so that you know you won't overeat. I also try not to eat after 7 because usually those are just wasted calories. I also drink water before I eat just to make sure I wasn't really thirsty first. Those things usually help me! Does anyone else have any tips? Good luck girls! AND remember we are all here for each other :) :) |

Hi girls! I Wish I Was Me - I have the same problem. It's soooo hard for me to resist food, even if I know I shouldn't be eating it, or that I'm overeating!!! Thanks for the tips Grace - anything to try and curb my overzealous appetite! And now you have me wondering where my pedometer went to... I will try to find it this morning. Good job on your 15000 steps! That's awesome! :D Monday was really good for me. I put up the trampoline and bounced around for a while, did some staff practice (for my martial arts) with my bf, and ran around a bit in the horses' paddock. Yesterday I was going to do some stuff...but I got discouraged and ended up not doing anything. :( Today I'll start off with some of the stuff I was going to do yesterday - before I head out to school I will do 10 minutes on the yoga ball and 10 minutes out on the trampoline. Good luck and healthy eating to both of you! :D |

Last night I went dancing and I danced for 2 hours (on and off) and felt great afterwards! I had some chocolate though (leftover Easter candy...) So today my goal is to eat super well. HAHAHA! |

It's okay! There have been MANY weeks where I have just maintained my weight. We're all here for each and it WILL be better next week!! I lost 1 pound, was hoping to lose 2 week but I definitely have to work harder next week as well. Keep your head high :) |

HAHA, I gained a pound too!!! kjsdhfkjsdh! I know it's stress for me because I'm almost done with school so I have SO much work. (plus 3 big zits on my face.) On the bright side though, I exercised at least 3o minutes everyday this week. :) I mostly walked but I did go to the gym twice and even had to carry a headboard of a bed with my best friend 20 blocks! (my arms were so sore afterwards...) Anyways, keep your heads up. I think we have to take this one day at time. Like today I realized that I can't go one day without having chocolate so tomorrow I decided that I will have no chocolate. I'm going to make daily goals for myself and hopefully create some good habits. :) Good luck to both of you this week!! |

:( That's okay!! I was really bad in the beginning of the week but now I'm getting back on track and I've lost 2 pounds since Wednesday. I think the key is eating right because even if you exercise a lot it can go out the window with bad eating. I think I'll do the same as you starting tomorrow since I don't remember exactly how much I ate today (although it was all healthy - except for a small piece of chocolate) Well don't get too discouraged, we'll work through it :) |

Hey guys...this week was not a good week... I went to the doctor's yesterday, they say I'm going to need surgery in July...nothing serious at least, but still. I don't like the anasthesia. OH I'm sorry to hear, I hate surgeries!! So I didn't weigh myself this morning because I was running really late for church, so I will have to do it tomorrow. I know I definitely gained weight this week even though I lost 2 pounds. Today was REALLY good for me though! I'm going to put my daily stats here to stay more focused. Weight: N/A Ate: 2 Fiber Bars - 280 2 Kashi Go Lean Bars - 320 3 Egg Whites and American Cheese - 150 Banana - 100 Yogurt - 80 Pretzels - 110 TOTAL: 1,040 Exercise: Ran 25 minutes on the treadmill and burned 260 Calories - I know I should have eaten more today, but I wasn't hungry at all, although I know I'll feel it tomorrow. Hope you all had a good healthy day today!! :) |

Hey girls! So I've been doing great! I've been going to the gym twice a day and eating super healthy! I think I need to consume more calcium though. Anyways right now I'm at 155 but I'm hoping to be 154 by tomorrow morning. I hope things get less stressful for you and I know exactly how you feel because I had to go through that the last 2 weeks. Heyy girls! Okay, so this week I've been working out about an hour and a half to 2 hours everyday. I go to the gym in the morning and run on the treadmill in the morning for 30 minutes between 5.4 and 5.9 MPH. I raise it by one point every week so next week I will run between 5.5 and 6.0 MPH. Then I do some weights after and alternate between arms, back and legs. I do crunches everyday though. At night I go back and ride the bike for 30 minutes. Nothing to intense, I listen to history podcasts and it's usually just to get my blood flowing. :) It's been making a HUGE difference because it inspires me to eat healthier as well and I've already lost 4 pounds this week, so right now I'm at 153. The only reason I'm doing this is because I actually have the time now, so just do the best that you can do in the time that you have. I'm cheering for you both! |

Hi I was wondering if you would like to add another buddy to your group. I am a sixteen year old female that is 5"6, who currently weighs about 157lbs. When I ws foruteen I went from 170lbs to 153lbs. I still have about twenty more pounds to go plus the four I gained. I went through a lot of stuff with friends and school this year and I figured its time to do something for myself, since I'm always worrying about others. I am excercising everyday now and I have some old videos that i work out to plus my treadmill. I write everything down that I eat so it keeps me accountable. I am also trying to drink me water and really eat healthy. My adivce to you is that you can do it. After losing the weight the first time it gave me such a sense of accomplishment. thanks so much for welcoming me into your group. i need some support from people my own age. i realize that i want my junior year to be a great year and i also want to feel great. losing weight is hard but you can do it. sometimes it gets frustrating when you dont lose the weight but dont give up. do you have any suggestions for workouts??? i like doing different things. right now i alternate between workout videos and the treadmill. |

oh no problem. yesterday was finally my last day of school. i am so relieved because this year there was so much emotional stress which prevented me from losing weight and made me gain a few pounds. now instead of eating, i exercise when i am stressed. I realize though that life is too short to worry about people who let you down. I have a totally new mind set. I realize I owe it to myself to lose weight. good luck this week. I will check my weight on Friday. I have a bad habit of checking my weight everyday and I am breaking that because it drives me nuts. lol |

hey i lost a pound which brings me down to 156. i did really good this week and i think my body might be in shock from going from no exercise to a lot of exercise. plus my "girly monthly friend" should be here anyday, and i always gain 2 pounds in water weight. i ll take what i can get. im happy i lost a pound though. oh and hey girls, you all sound like you are doing great!! this week did not go so hot. all those stanley cup parties with the good food really did me in. i've gained a couple pounds. friday i get my wisdom teeth out so i won't be able to eat normal for a few days. i really hoep after that i can get back inot the swing of things. i'm really having a tough time of it now. |

I'm feeling pretty good, but I still can't exercise because it would be too much strain on my stitches. On Tuesday, as long as I'm ok, I'm going to be started a job at a local amusement park. I will be on my feet all day so hopefully that will help aid my weight loss. Good luck with your weigh in. I'm sure you will do fine this week. :-) |

i have some good news for once!!! I lost four pounds this week. I went from being 157 to 153lbs. It's the jump start I needed. I still am not back to my exercise routine yet because I'm still a little sore, so next week I should be ok too. i am going to the beach at the end of july and I want to look nice in a bathing suit!!!!! I was looking at pictures and realized I did really gain weight. I don't want my pictures to be like that anymore!!!!!!!! |

my job keeps me on my feet all day and the pounds really seem to be coming off. i am finally better from getting my wisdom teeth out and feel healthy enough to start excerising. the exercise will really help me shed the pounds. this is definitely what i needed, a jump start. hope to hear good news from you but if not its ok. |

that's great!!! both of us are really working hard and we are seeing the relsults. i stayed the same this week, but that's fine coming off of a four pound weight loss. i have also added going on my treadmill in the morning before work. It keeps me awake for the whole long eight hour day on my feet. dont you just love the feeling of loose clothes, and being able to fit in the skinny clothes, instead of being forced to wear the fat ones. good luck this week, im sure you will keep up the good work. I would say Happy Fourth of July to you but you don't live in this country. I work all weekend so I have no time to eat all the bad holiday food. lol I do get to see fireworks cause the amusement park I work at has a big show. |

yes i have been slacking off i'll admit. i work about 30 to 40 hours a week so sometimes their isn't time for myself. i really need to concentrate a little harder. plus during my tme of the month i gain a couple pounds and feel just aweful. hope you feel better. hopefully next time you reply you will be feeling better. |

Well as far as weight loss goes I have gained ten pounds but on friday I just started following the weight watchers point system again. I had sucess with it the first time. I'm hoping to lose the ten pounds I gained and plus another ten. I've been doing pretty well on the plan too. I've be able to have the self control and make choices. Glad to hear your doing well!!! |

My goal is to lose twenty pounds. I am not setting a time frame for myself, but just the goal of 20lbs. My previous weight was 159lbs. To My New Buddy (Laura): Sure I'd love to have another buddy to go along wiht me in my weight loss journey. It is difficult not being able to lose weight. We are are in this together!!! You can lose the weight. This is my second stab at trying to lose weight. I previously lost 20 pounds, but gained ten of it back. I gained it back because I wsa eating uncontrollably. Some people can eat like that, but with my metabolism, I can't My goal is to lose the ten pounds I gained plus another ten pounds. Thank you for the tips. I am a big fan a green tea. I usually brew it myself and drink it without sugar, because the bottled stuff has loads and loads of sugar. I am keeping a food journal, and the picture idea sounds really good. hey! thanks for the nice welcome! Well lately I´ve been eating like crazy! and doing no exercise whatsoever....nothing! I dont know what exercise I can do because my boyfriend isnt working and hes always in the bedroom and I just cant face going out for a run! I cant push myself to do it. Well I´ve been reading about water retention, and it says to drink more water, cranberry juice, bananas, lettuce and more vitamin C. (just some info lol) Well I´d like to know how you two manage your cravings, whatever cravings you have how do you banish them? I'm not going to lie, sometimes I give into my cravings, but I try different things. If i want chocolate sometimes I will drink hot chocolate. If I'm craving salt I try just having a couple pretzels. It seems like for me if I can have a taste, I will be ok. I am currently not exercising that much but am on the weight watchers points plan. it worked for me before. don't give up. find what's best for you. |
