I was just trying to base how many calories are in a cup of my tuna salad. I make a lot so it lasts me like a week or so...so dont freak out over the quantities. Here is what I use:

3 cans of tuna in water, drained
2-3 tbsp of mayo made with olive oil
2-3 tbsp of relish
a squirt of grey poupon
onion chopped (1/3 of medium onion)
carrot diced (1/2 of a large carrot)
small handful of crushed walnuts
(and anything else that will last the time it is around....but this time that is all I had)

I am trying to figure out how much a serving of my finished salad would be. Any advice how to get that info? :)

When I do that sort of thing

1) I determine the total calories in the entire recipe

2) I weigh the yield (or add the weight of the individual ingredients to obtain total)

3) I weigh the 'serving'

calories in a serving is     (1) * (3) / (2)
