I have been overweight for over 11 yrs. Weight increased every time I had a child (2).Last month went to my dr's  and he  sd i was pre-diabetic. Straight from the dr's office I went to Join the gym,.

I worked out , but instead of losing pounds..I was gaining. It was just frustrating  to see the numbers  going up.  the scale read 201.8 lbs. I knew I had to do something!!.

Researched  about lapband , here in States... way tooooo expensive. So i had no choice but to head for mexco where I paid much less.

Anyways, my sugery was on the 22nd of Nov,08. Only painkillers were given...no antibiotics...no relaxer,,Nothing.

I had 5 incisions on my belly , 4 of which has healed... but the one for the port hurts a lot.   It hurts everytime I breath in..... very frustrating. Eating applesauce and alot of  yogurt.. Just had to have a sip of Pepsi  today....

I am not taking any pills now............. Just want this port pain to go away so I can breath easily. My weight today ....190lbs. I have lost 10.8 in 7 days.

my goal is 130.

Wish you all the best and hope you will be ok very soon. Take courage maam.

I can understand your frustration. But why you don't take any pain killer? is it forbidden?

Thank you!

10 pounds in 7 days is alot.
Actually to much. you should atleast only lose like 5 pounds in 7 days.
But either way I'm proud of you!
Hopefully all goes well with your health and all. Good luck!

Lap-Band surgery is a type of weight loss surgery like the traditional gastric bypass surgery, alters the anatomy of the stomach to help you reduce food intake. Lap-Band System is the brand name of the FDA-approved, adjustable gastric band used in the procedure. Most simply, a Lap Band is a silicone belt that goes around the top of the stomach. This results in the ability to control your hunger and achieve a "feeling of fullness," or satiety. Ultimately, you eat much less and should feel full sooner. After a week or so of surgery you should be able to return to work within a week, with minimal discomfort.
Be sure to verify the number of procedures your surgeon has done, and find out about his office support for Lap-Band patients.
That said I will advise your to watch the following videos to clear any doubts you have regarding lap-band surgery.
