I am 185 pounds, what would happen if I had gastric bypass?

Well, first I don't think you would qualify. Unless you are very, very short I doubt that you would meet the threshold for needed weight loss.

If you are considering surgery, Lap Band might be a better option for you. It is also far less invasive. Gastric bypass is a relatively dangerous operation and is, for the most part, only considered when all other options are exhausted or there is imminent health dangers.

If you are asking how much weight you would lose if you got gastric bypass it's hard to say. Of course you would lose some, maybe even a lot, but it will not "fix" any issues you have with eating. Like anything else you can put the weight back on.
