That's what I'm trying to find. It just seems that the warning on every A/S I've seen cautions against using the product if you have high blood pressure - and I do. (I'm only 15 pounds overweight, but, on me, that makes a significant difference in my blood pressure)

Does anyone know of a A/S product that doesn't affect blood pressure?

I'm not familiar with appetite suppressants, but I also have high blood pressure, so it's not really an option for me.

That being said, I have found that fiber has really helped to supress my appetite as I have been losing weight. I get over 40 grams a day. Water also helps in this regard, and many people mistake thirst for hunger.

Some people have experieced similar effects with protein. I would try these, if you haven't already.

Best of luck.

Thank you, Crimson. In what form do you take the fiber and what brand may I ask?

Oh, I don't take a fiber supplement. The only supplement I take is a daily multivitamin.

I can provide you with the foods in my diet that are good sources of fiber:

Kashi GoLean Crunch Cereal (Twigs, Grahams, Puffs) - 10 grams/cup
Arnold's Flax & Fiber Bread - 4 grams/slice
Live Active Cottage Cheese - 3 grams/serving
Low Sodium V8 - 2 grams/cup (V8 also has a high fiber variety)
Planters Heart Healthy Nut Mix - 2 grams/serving

Most of the rest comes from fruits and veggies, mainly fruits. A large orange has about 4.4 grams, and a large banana has about 3.5.

Kashi also sells other products that are great sources of fiber, such as oatmeal and cereal bars.

Good luck.

Personally I find that herbal tea does a great job of suppressing my appetite for me. Tea is 1-2 cal, when you don't add sugar or milk, and it keeps the stomach busy.

Celery is a "free food" and also helps in between meals. Try eating a piece along with drinking a glass of water. You actually burn more calories digesting it.

This video might give you some tips to help curb your appetite. I put in some unusual suggestions you won't find anywhere else. It's called: "Weight Loss Tips For Oprah".

hiya!

do you take any exercise at all? i am realistically 3 stone overweight and if i don't exercise my blood pressure can easily be 210 / 156 which is really high bordering on the stroke/heart attack is imminent! (i'm only 41!!)

now i walk my dog every day for half an hour (up a couple of hills to get my heart going) and my blood pressure is 119/76 which is normal.

i was at the docs yesterday and his machine couldn't even read mine cos it was that high - there is a syndrome called 'white coat syndrome' whereby if you see a doctor and you know your blood pressure is going to be taken, it will shoot up - i have this!

you don't have to go to the gym or even spend any money - a walk is free!

do you have your own monitor - if not, buy one, they are cheap - you will undoubtedly find that your blood pressure is SIGNIFICANTLY lower when in your own space and you are are comfortable.

i am taking proactol and there are no side effects with this and it lowers your blood cholesterol too! i have lost 3lbs in two days!!

i am doing a review/diary on here for other people to see (near the top of the forum if you want a look!)
