I have been doing heavy research on the most successful diets out there, and I came across this book " The South Beach Diet Quick And Easy Cookbook. "
It has gotten some of the highest reviews, and is one of the most popular diet books:
buzzillions.com/prd-329834-the-south-beach-diet-quick-and-easy-cookbook-reviews/
One person said "Though I started the South Beach diet with reservations, I have found this book to be my salvation. I've tried many of the receipes and most have been great! Even my children like them. They may seem complicated at first by really are not. Some of the ingredients can be challenging to find in local supermarkets. This book has convinced me that "healthy" eating can be delicious."
Any opinions? Last edited on 21 April 2009 04:34 pm by

Hi Emma,
Its one of the few diets I haven´t tried but I seem to remember its basically about food combining which I really do agree with.
good luck with whatever you choose.

| I don't know about actually doing the diet itself, but they have some good food! The cereal bars are really good! And they have some good frozen meals too. I have managed to make my own diet plan with the frozen meals as lunch. Not just South Beach though. Healthy Choice and Lean Cuisene are good too. And let's not forget soup! There are some great low calorie soups out there. Anyhow, if you do south beach, keep us posted!

Here is my take:
I have done the South beach diet and lost about 30 pounds. It is a very easy and effective way to lose weight. In a sense you are just following certain principles (such as not eating white, processed flour or sugar etc...) and you do not have to count calories or deprive yourself. I think it is a very healthy way to live but it certainly is not a quick fix. More like a lifestyle change.
As for the book, if you enjoy cooking, there are some great recipes to try. However, you can also easily access hundreds and hundreds of recipes on the internet for free that are straight from the book or (better yet in my opinion) straight from people who are successfully on the SBD.
Good luck!

| The South Beach Diet worked for me! You have to stick with the induction phase until you get close to your goal weight. Get the South Beach diet book and read it from start to finish and the diet will make perfect sense. You cannot have any sugar at all in the induction phase, period! No bread , potatoes, carrots, tomatoes, fruit, nothing that has any kind of carbs, good or bad. It works if you don't cheat! The first week is the hardest because your body is ridding itself of all sugar. But after that you shouldn't crave carbs. Trust me. I became obsessed with it and carried the book around with me everywhere! I lost 40 lbs in about 3 months. I use to have nightmares about a slice of bread chasing me! LOL
