Hi, folks! I'm back among the living! I left work and went to my doctor last Wednesday. After a slew of tests and x-rays, she decided that the sinus infection that I had already taken three rounds of antibiotics for had still not gone away. She put me on a 30-day round of some really strong stuff, with a warning "You'll feel worse before you feel better." She was right. I didn't get out of bed again until Friday night. I was still week most of the weekend, but feeling much better today, and I'm back on track.
How's everyone else?

Kim - Poor dear -- Glad you are getting better! Did your guys fair OK! I know at my house almost nothing gets done til I feel up to it!
With the weather likely rainy where you are too, I bet staying indoors is what the doctor ordered!
Bless you!

My boys took good care of me, but I'm not hard to take care of when I'm sick. Just leave me alone until I'm well.
It is a good time to stay inside. Yesterday, I checked the temp and it was 9-above zero. Brrr! Even the dogs don't stay outside for long. We got alittle snow and some ice last night, but nothing bad.
BTW, I loved the pictures! Ty is adorable, and your girls are gorgeous (just like their mother!).

Good Morning, folks! I'm alittle better every day, and I'll probably even get back to exercising tomorrow. I did okay with my eating last night. Tomato-basil soup for dinner and a few crackers. For a snack, I had a pack of 90 calorie rice snacks and some sugar-free jello. Back on track!
Have a wonderful day!

Morning Kim! Hope this is a good day for you! I'm finally feeling better and back to a norm.
It rained last night and the temp is still not like you have -- but we think its COLD at 40&50.
This seems like the longest winter . . . I'm so ready to work in my yard!
Enjoy your day! Blessings.

It was 19 degrees when I got up this morning and we're expecting it to get colder tonight. It was funniest thing--there was only one cloud in the sky this morning and it was spitting snow flurries!
I did okay with eating yesterday, but still haven't gotten back to exercising. Maybe it's the cold. I just want to hibernate! I just realized that today is the first day my head has been clear in months, so I'm on my way to wellness!
Have a wonderful day, my friends!

OK, ladies............I just had to pop in here. I don't like going out in the cold either, but when I say it was cold this morning, it was 17 degrees BELOW ZERO ! It was afternoon by the time we saw positive temps I hate even trying to warm the car up, much less actually go out for a walk! But, I sure miss my walking.........here's to warmer temps and spring ! The weathermen try to make us feel better by telling us we will be 50 degrees warmer on Sunday and Monday, than we were this morning! Of course, then they are talking freezing rain.........I'd rather have the cold!
Keep warm! (Live in His Son-shine )

Sheltie and Hisgal, how do you do it? Im in rochester, by no means is it warm...but DANG.....17 degrees below zero?!?!?!?!? I would think you were nuts to go workout in that kinda weather......although, the Giants gave quite the beating in that weather last weekend.....(what can i say, im from NJ....I love the giants) so i guess its do-able to work out in that weather....but really, how do you both do it?!?!
I know I would wake up, say scr*w that and go back to bed.....i dont think my basic bodily functions would still exisit in that weather, let alone any real effective exercise!!!!

Ya got me beat, Pat. 17 below is unbearable. El, you're a hoot! Luckily, I walk inside, but just crawling out of that warm bed has been a problem. There's been a cycle this week. I let the dogs out, go to my recliner with a quilt, and after I let the dogs back in, Glory (who's 50 pounds of fur) jumps on my lap, I get all warm again and fall back to sleep. Bad habit. I should never sit down!
I had a hungry night last night, but only munched on sugar free jello and 90 calorie rice cakes drizzled with chocolate. I wasn't really active. I've started a Nora Roberts book, so I curled up and read most of the evening.
Have a wonderful day, folks!

WoooHooo Sheltie! Way to go, my dear! Just for you!
Hey, EL, I don't go out walking in that stuff! Not at all.............although it's 10 above today, so I might do a short walk downtown, where the wind doesn't hit as bad as the park by the river. And, you know, it's all a matter of perspective..........17 below zero didn't sound so bad, when the weather guys (I'm in southern MN) were talking actual temps of 35 below for International Falls, which is in northern MN! That makes me feel positively "tropical"
Had to smile, Sheltie.............the first thing I do at 5:00 a.m. in the morning, when I need a chiro visit, and my back hurts, like it does right now.........is to sit down with a few ice packs on my back and shoulders. My youngest cat, Sprite (my avatar) jumps up and cuddles in my lap, on top of the quilt. Then my older cat, Squirt, comes pawing at the top of the quilt, until I lift it up and he crawls under the quilt and curls up in a ball on my chest. So, they are laying side by side, but one on top of the quilt and one under it. They help keep me warm with the ice on the back!

Top of the Mornin', folks! I hope everyone had a great weekend. The weather was actually not bad this weekend, and we worked lots on our project trailer. I actually learned to patch fiberglass this weekend! Who says an old dog can't learn new tricks. LOL!
I started walking again today and didn't realize how much I missed it. I'm still on the antibiotics, but my head feels clear than it has in months. I'm praying for two more pounds by Friday. I had an unofficial goal of 10 pounds this month, and I pray I reach it.
Have a wonderful day!

Good Morning! Busy, busy day yesterday, so I was alittle stressed last night. My eating was okay, but not great. This morning, I did three miles with my DVD and feel great this morning!
I was watching Dr. Don Colbert this morning on Joyce Meyer and he was talking about the "7 Pillars of Health." This biggest thing I got out of it was exercise, water, and sleep. I can do that!
Have a great day!

Morning Kim! I have tht book 7 P of Health! Good book -- he goes to extreme on the natural bottled water (most expensie stuff) -- but generally I liked reading it.
Yesterday was a radical day for me -- I had mm's for breakfast and a burrito for lunch -- no supper! All under 1300 calories but YIKES - this was so not the most healthy day I've seen.
I did go with son to check out the apartment he and his other two buddies are gong to move into next month. He has lived with his dad for years and I'm ready for him to have a more positive living invironment -- hope and pray -- that this will be. He is taking two night classes at the community college and working full time. He is 18 and I'm still telling him to "pull his pants up"! He's basically a good kids -- but I don't really know the others .... guess I will soon enough!
Hope you having a good day! Blessings.

Good Morning, sunshine! I know what you mean about staying busy--work has been crazy. Things have slowed down today, but we'll see.
We had terrible wind yesterday--some gust were up to 60 mph. We lost some shingles on our roof and have alot of limbs in the yard. We had to eat out because the electricity was off at home. I still stayed under 1200 calories for yesterday. The temperature dropped 30 degrees yesterday and was even colder this morning. Like an idiot, I turned off my alarm and crawled back in bed 'just for a minute' to get warm. 45 minutes later, I woke back up. Needless to say, I didn't get my walk in this morning. Grrr!
Have a wonderful day!

Happy Monday! Last Thursday, we got about 4 inches of snow, so I took a couple vacation days to enjoy the weather. It's the only real snow we've had this year.
Of course, weekends are a disaster, but I didn't do so horribly this time. I walked three miles this morning and did 50 reps with my Thighmaster. I had an apple for breakfast, tuna and pretzels for lunch, along with another apple. I'm not sure about dinner yet, but I've got to get some veggies in. I forgot my salad for lunch today.
Have a great one, folks!

AH! My sweet (north) friend. Thanks for the soup! I'm mostly doing OK today. My coffee didn't taste like coffee this am. I'll have to see what this afternoon's taste like. I've only eaten ritz crackers and one wedge of laugh cow cheese. Tonight I'll have my soup.THANKS
I have to go by and see my Mom -- she's in one of her depressed moods...I phoned her a short time ago....told her I'd be over after work.
I'm really glad I came in today -- even at half speed -- I'm able to get some things done. And if I'd stayed home I'd probably have worked harder trying to catch up on the things I didn't get done yesterday. . .
All is well. . . in His time. . . . Blessings to you. /Sherry

I'm here, I'm here.....I have a good excuse, though! We got blasted on Monday with an ice storm. I left work around 10am Monday and didn't leave the house again until Wednesday. The ice on the trees was beautiful, but the streets were horrible and lots of places didn't have any power. We were lucky and our power stayed on, but I stayed in and did hiberate alittle. I thought we were supposed to get this stuff in December and January!
Happy Valentine's Day everyone! I woke up to a single red rose, a beautiful card, and a gift certificate for tanning. DH does know how to spoil me. How about everyone else? How are you celebrating?

I was sure it was something to do with this weather! YIKES! It's 72 degrees here today.
Hubby sent me beautiful red roses to the office and had hugging bears sitting on my bath sink this am when I got up. He always brings my coffee to bedr. and wakes me! I told him when I retire -- I waiting til the sun comes out to get out of bed!!

AAAHHH, how sweet! You better hang on to him--he's a keeper.
We're expecting a high temp of 40 today. We sitting here in the office watching ice shards fall off the electric lines. I'd hate to be standing under one of them!

Sheltie (Kim) Where are you girl! Hope the weather is getting better for you!
I had another funeral to go to yesterday! The man was only 51 ... husband of a DH co-worker. It was a sudden - shock - complications from pneumonia! Seems the hospitals are seeing a lot of secondary infections - etc. from the flu!
I'm struggling with the range of 187 to 190# I'm exercising more and watching the sweets. Hope to get a DOWN trend soon!
TY will be one next week! Glory Be - what a year! I love pinching his fat thighs and listening to him giggle and laugh out loud!!!! Also, under his neck is a tickle spot! He gets hsi first haircut next week and his BD! Then I'm taking him to get a real professional photo!
Have a great weekend! Blessings & Love to you! /Sherry
