Ok……that was a lot of reading !!!!!
Yes days are going pretty busy , if its not cooking its teaching the youngest !! going crazy with that !!
Yesterday evening went with hubby to buy shoes for son…remember he had said we will buy from the factory outlet its cheaper there !! lol
Anyway it took us 1 hour to reach…lost way…yet again….lol….then traffic…. on finally reaching we saw sale was over and all the prices were regular and son’s size was not available …so back to square 1 my store !!! lol…… ..men !!!!!
Butterfly…… yes you definitely made me dizzy !!!!
ironing is basically of my hubby’s clothes…office wear and evening home wear……mine and girls clothes are mostly wrinkle free…so most of the pile is of hubby's….i wash and iron at home !!!!
No I don’t pack in those packs……sometimes I roll the clothes to fit them in…lol…so yes can get wrinkled once they reach !!
Yes spring rolls are basically small …I get the bigger wrappers, but men can easily eat 4-5 in a go !!! lol I make it in veges and chicken …..
Fry daddy …lol….that got me…..i had a deep fryer a couple of years back….but used only a couple of times…..basically we are not always frying…and lot of oil was required in those things which had to be reused and then again reused… not too good for health…and lot of waste …..and when I fry fish it’s not deep just shallow…so I don’t use the oil again…even if its excess I refrigerate it for fish use only !!! and not in any other stuff !!!
I had to laugh when you said grainy carbs….hey girls by carbs we mean…bread and grain….not veges….lol……
Elina……should I confess too !!! oh boy !! no no..... whips will be out !!!!
You are at your ideal weight and workout diligently , so that’s why dieting makes you feel in a prison…and you do eat healthy……reading your last post made me feel so awe for you…so many tips on zucchini itself !!!!
Your daughters behavior is all attention….lol…..mine did the same……you know how my youngest has had health issues….so everyone would talk about her…after each surgery there would be celebrations at my moms and everyone giving her gifts…all this kind of behavior made my eldest very angry….at counseling they told me give her attention, talk about her…she feels love deprived… .....well that was 3 yrs back…so I made many changes ..would talk less about the younger one…hug the eldest ( which I dint feel like, because I was always angry with her !! )
It took time, but finally this year I can see major changes……you know what…the youngest tries to copy everything of hers…lol……habits etc….and when I told the eldest …I could see she had a slight smile on her face… I keep telling her that because you are the eldest they consider you as their role model and want to be like you….so now I cant believe what i see….she is good with her…and has also started helping with her school work…though there are still some small fights !! not a big deal…part of life….lol
Deedee….all free tips advises are welcome…you'll have more experience than us….so can be a major help. appreciate it !!
You are so right about girls being mouthy ones….lol…had to laugh on that…Don't remember having these issues with my son !!! he is 20 now.....and when he was teen…his issues were just new games, computer etc….lol…..
Good luck with your new cycle !!
Amy…..where have you been ????? so nice to see you back !!
Maintained your weight …that is just great and an achievement in itself !!
I finished s07 of supernatural……hehehe.....but i miss those boys.....sheesh....look at a 40 yr old women talk like that !! lol
Yes your hubby may not like dh…all girly gossipy stuff…but fun !!
I am hooked to criminal minds as of now…same line of stories…. But well created…and I love thrillers…so liking it.
I also started good wife…but watched only first 2ep….but kind of like to go back to cm …..lol……
Lorraine…..i sooo love how you have disciplined your life…wish I could that too…someday…eventually !!
Eva…….???????
Ok I think this was long post for me…..hopefully see you guys later !!
planning to make mince meat samosas...today !!!

Good morning!
Zas...you cracked me up....no one thinks about veggies when they say carbs...how true! I bought a giant container of pretzels for the kids....I don't usually eat pretzels but I do like them. Seeing them ALL the time...my goodness, I had to keep my eyes away from them last night! I just wanted something crunchy! Should I get carrots for me? lol yuck! I had such a funny dream...that my neighbor and I were out and about and wound up at some store and we were picking out cake...she's big time into deserts. I woke up thinking 'thank goodness it was just a dream and I didn't eat all that!'.
I KNOW what to do to be healthy and I do do it for the most part...it's the BAD moments that I have to control myself in that keep me from achieving more. But I feel that I have made tremendous progress from where I was a few years ago. I think my life would be so boring w/o all this drama, no? lol
What does your husband wear at home or evenings that requires ironing? I hate ironing. When I was little, everything was ironed...sheets, towels, clothes...EVERYTHING! Luckily I rarely have to iron as my husband doesn't work in an office. And when he did wear dressy shirts, I took them to the cleaners or to my mom's for her to iron! lol
So you predicted that you won't get a deal at the factory and you were right! Too funny!
When are you leaving? Is it this weekend?
Thank you for sharing about your daughter....I also have to go out of my way to give her more attn. She says that she's the only one that gets in trouble, not her brothers....it's true but they don't do or say what she does! And now I do hear my sweet 4yr old saying things about his brother that are a copy of what she says...he does everything she does and says and I can't have that! She does thrive on alone time and mommy time...I have to do more of that with her. Then of course they boys start to whine that they want the same! Oy!!!! I just hope that she will outgrow this.
Well...it's workout time! Always the hardest step is the first one.....
I'll see you guys later!

hi elina ,
exactly a week more for me too leave...next Wednesday...4th july !!
it seems you are having one of those days...lol....dreaming of cakes...lol...well done that too !!!! lol
its the same with me too....i stopped making desserts or getting goodies which tempt me.....pop cycles were a big achievement for me !!
my hubby wears traditional gear called pyjama kurta...which needs ironing too !!!
made i think almost 70 samosas...and they turned out great ...... .................oops will it tempt anyone here !!!
as for shopping i am like my mom.....go to one particular store, like it, then buy it...lol.....not think about it too much or hunt places...etc......my one sil likes to do that...lol....and i hate to go shopping with her....boring aren't i !!!
i also have this phobia of going into new shops especially for dress materials..thinking that they will not give me a good one !!! lol
there is this one particular shop in India that i have been going since my childhood...with my mom....but now my girls have grown up and are saying enough we will go to other place...lol....
this is not for everything ....just dress materials !!
sipping my coffee....my girl was tired so i forcefully put her to sleep !!! she gets up at 4.30 am everyday and then does not want to sleep after school....but then i put her to bed by 8 pm....so it works.....but today whilst taking up her work she was so drowsy .....anyway 2 days break before next paper....social science ( history geography combined) ... ...terrible subject !!!

Zas...Smiles are contagious...Be a carrier...What a beautiful sweet way to start a day!!! I absolutely love that!! I'm going to put that at the bottom of my emails.
I hear the excitement in your voice about how much this vacation means to you and I wish for you a very safe and happy trip. From the sounds of it you are in need of some special "ME" time and hopefully you will get that and be well rest on your return home.
Elina...I went on that Skinny Girl site you mentioned and they have some great sounding dishes. Do you make your carrot soup just like the one shown? I really need to spice up my veggie day so it doesn't get so boring...as you know, I don't like them, so I eat very limited variety. I'm going to try the cauliflower soup because that is one veg I do like. I know everyone has different tastes, but you make it sound like they are the best ever and worth a try!!! lol
There are so many of you that are so tiny!! but I also hear that you are not very tall. I am 5'7" and been that tall since the 6th grade! (I'm happy to report I haven't started shrinking yet ) I hate the pound number that I'm at and I have not said it out loud here as to where I started, but it was 198.8. That is the most I've ever weighed. As a person in my 20-30's I was about 145-150 and then I would yo-yo through the years. I doubt that weight would be very good now because I would have wrinkles beyond what I could tolerate!!! The skin just is not flexible at 69! lol If I could get to the low 170's I'd be happy with that.
I'm having a very difficult time getting the few I gained over the weekend off again. I thought I would be down, but not. I did not stay pop yesterday on fruit day because I ate some cheese late night, and a small bowl of meat and tomatoes (pasta sauce) after having my sandwich at dinner...not good, but it really tasted good....soooo i knew I was going to pay a price. BUT today is another day and ready to stay pop no matter what comes my way...that's a promise I made to myself this morning - I never make a promise I can't keep.
Amy...can't remember if we've met, but hello and welcome back after being MIA as the girls say! Good that you have been able to be stable and not gain while away. Nice going girl!
Well girls, I think you may have learned a little more about this lady today. I enjoy being here and everyone is so open about who they are. I wanted to be the same, although I'm not hiding, I'm just ashamed I've have let things get out of control for so long. I know I'm in the right place and all I can do is thank you for all the support and well wishes for a successful healthy well being. That makes me smile!!!

Hello everyone! Happy Wednesday! Thank you for all of the welcome back’s and hello’s. Everyone is just so friendly here.
Elina – On our vacation we are renting a cabin on a lake, so it’s going to be nice and relaxing and fun. I’m excited to get a break from work and sports for a week! My boys are now doing summer soccer and baseball season is starting to wind down…whew! So, soon we will just have soccer to go to and it’s very relaxing, so if they don’t make it to something, it’s no big deal. Baseball is so much stricter and time consuming, so that will be a relief.
Lorraine – Maintaining at my current weight is easy, I can usually have whatever I want and as long as I keep up with working out, I don’t gain. I think my body is at its “set point” so it just wants to stay there. It’s losing that is hard for me. I’m hoping to be successful when I get back into the groove of FL4I.
Butterfly – Jeez girl, you and I sound like we are living the same life! I too tend to go to the golden arches, or the pink and purple bell for dinner times. I do usually try to go to Subway or somewhere a bit healthier because I want my kids to have healthy food, but more often than I want to admit, we end up picking up fast food or a quick pizza for dinner. It’s just so crazy sometimes and worrying about food is the thing I give up trying to fit in. I have thought of hypoglycemia, because I do really feel weird, so I may have to change fruit day up a bit. Last week I did a fruit day and I felt really weird, and dizzy. After I ate a little protein, I felt much better. I had a case of vertigo a year or so ago and that is one of the worse things I have ever felt, so I’m not too keen of the feeling I get when I do a fruit day. I am considering trying BC instead of FL4I next time, but we will see.
Zas – I’m with you on the SN boys! They are HOT! I totally miss watching them and I’m 42, so you are in good company! J
Deedee – I’m not sure if we’ve met either, so hello! It’s very nice to “meet” you!J I do maintain pretty easy right now, but I haven’t lost much weight…I’m sure when I finally get back down to the 120’s it will be a bit more difficult… but that’s what this forum is for, right? Too keep us all in check and accountable!
A funny thing happened earlier today, a co-worker came in to my office that I haven’t seen for a month or so and said that I look good and ……..slimmer! Go figure! I was totally shocked and pleased! Maybe just working out has helped! I’m not even working out that much, just 30 minutes a day 4 -5 days a week, but I did get my hair cut, so maybe that’s what it was. I don’t know, but it made my day!
Have a great day everyone!
Amy

Hey Girls... still pop, day 3
This is going to be a quick one for now. Been walking and now I need to go shower, then we're off to pick up L. from her basketball camp and she has a softball game that I totally forgot about ... it's a make-up game.
Welll... so much for no "food events" until Saturday! Hubby said we are taking L. out for her birthday. Grrrrr ! So...another restaurant.... what should *I* order? Oatmeal, orange roughy, and kiwis...OR.... sausage links and cottage cheese!? LOL! Oh well... done this long enough, I'll figure it out. Kind of depends where we end up going.
Amy ~ Don't 'ya wish Subway had a DRIVE-THRU!? LOL! That would be AWESOME! They would get SO much more business! Probably wouldn't be able to "keep up" though. I've always said they could have a "set" choices menu for the drive-thru. Ever heard of Jimmy John's? That's how their whole menu is... subs, but specific ones and you can addd or subtract stuff from them if you want to. Our oldest, K. works there when she is at college and this summer, has been working full-time at Subway. You'd THINK we would go there more often, wouldn't you!? LOL
Wellll... time to scoot! TTYL!

Butterfly... As you have sausage links and cottage cheese on your menu, which is protein, and kiwis and orange roughty.. ie fruit.. I would go for a lean protein with a plain side salad at the restaurant and perhaps a little fruit for dessert.... I am sure you DO know how to do that as you did it plenty of times before... just a bit out of practise maybe?

Hi All,
Today is day one of my free choice days - was down to 154.6 this AM Yeah me!
Taking advice given - breakfast was apples - lunch was yogurt and fruit - supper was at a restaurant steak, shrimp, red potatoes, corn, roll, salad - I gave the corn away, did not eat the roll, ate the salad but did not put the dressing (italian) on it I dipped the salad into it as I ate, much less consumption wise - ate 1/2 the steak and 1/2 the shrimp and a little of the potatoes - my husband told me it looked like I had a whole meal left to take home LOL
Busy busy - so I don't have time to post separate comments to all - DeeDee hugs to you girl you are awesome thanks for sharing.
Hello/welcome to the "new" people.
Have a great evening - will check in later - time permitting!

KC.... Congrats on a very successful choice day one! Your menu today sounded very healthy and that is fantastic and definitely the way to go but remember you CAN have a little extra than you do on cycle so don't be afraid to include a small treat so that you don't feel deprived Almost 5lb loss on your second cycle making a total of almost 12lbs gone is a fantastic achievement.. I can see you reaching your goal in no time! Well done you... keep it up!
Sorry I haven't posted to you all individually.. been a little under the weather with arthritis flaring up and not sleeping well because of the pain. The doctor has put me on another course of steriods.. 6 tablets each morning for a week.. and a two week supply of sleeping pills to help me get some desperately needed rest. Funny thing is though the steroids have a side effect of insomnia! .. so I'm hoping the sleeping pills win over that! Well, I took a sleeping pill an hour ago and I'm not the least bit tired and it's just turned half past midnight so I hope it kicks in soon. Think I'm having a complete MOT as I'm having some blood tests done tomorrow at the doctors.. I'm at the hearing clinic next week for hearing aids (I have a degenerative hearing loss due to a head injury some years ago which damaged a part of my brain where the signals I hear are processed) anyway, I was told 15years ago that I would need hearing aids within the next 5 to 10 years but I have put off getting my hearing rechecked since then but it's time to get it sorted now.. I'm as deaf as a darned post! lol and everyone is fed up of having to repeat themselves or shout when they speak to me. I have to admit, unless they are facing me I can't hear a word they are saying and tend to combine what I DO hear with lip reading. And yesterday I got new spectacles for reading and driving and now have to wear a pair for most everything else I do as the optician said my sight has deteriorated quite a bit over the past couple of years... so that's 3 pairs of glasses I now have to juggle! So basically, apart from being deaf, blind and decrepit.. I'm ok!! lol.
Right.. I'm off to bed to try to get some sleep. Good night

Good evening!
I just got home.....went to visit my husband's aunt with MIL and the kids. She lives in a house on a lagoon and her deck is on water...I love being on the water! The kids had fun...she has a cute little puppy, we went to a little beach nearby and then they played with the neighbors' girls. I hung out and yapped with the aunt (whom I love) and then her neighbors and MIL...really great fun day. Another perfect weather day but I hear it's going to get hot again tomorrow....Oh no!!!
Zas...my Indian neighbor had a debate w/my mom b/c my mom said that the word pajama is from french and my friend said it's Indian. You confirmed it with pyjama kurta (I have to see what that looks like). One week! Are you going to have internet? 4th of July is a holiday here so we'll be down the shore.
DeeDee....yes I am short...5'1 and according to weight charts I should be 105-110 but I'm not built to be that tiny. At 120-125 I don't look big and that seems where I can maintain. I was always around 125-128 until I started to have babies and although I have always gotten back to my weight, it's much harder to maintain it than it used to be. I had to chuckle at the 'I'm not shrinking yet' comment...can't wait to be 69! lol
Yes skinny taste is a great site....I have been using her recipes for 2-3yrs and I have many that circulate in my weekly menu. It's easier for me to get recipes from one place, plus they are all lighter and most of them come out really good! Yes, I made the carrot soup pretty much like the recipe, I might've added a little more sour cream as I doubled the recipe...one pound of carrots comes out to be only a couple of bowls of soup. Cauliflower soup is one of my favs....I have been buying frozen cauliflower and it is even easier to make...no cutting required! For the purposes of veggie days, I don't add flour and I do add a little bit of whipped butter as it makes it creamier and not as watery.
There are many various chicken recipes I make from there, buffalo turkey burgers are my new favs now...the old menu has lean ground turkey and I hate the taste of it...well not anymore thanks to those.
I get a daily email with a new recipe and you do get overwhelmed but I pick out what looks really good and make it....my kids like most things I have made from there.
Lorraine, I'm sorry to hear that you are not feeling well again! Wonder what causes these flare ups! And your eye sight! Oh no! I'd say an old Russian proverb 'starost ne radost' or old age is not fun but you're not old! And guess what? I'm half dead too! Years ago I went to a nightclub and I remember the speakers being so loud that my ears hurt for days and I couldn't hear well. I had ringing in my ears for years after that. Ever since then I have lost a lot of high pitched hearing. I don't hear phones if they are not nearby, beeps or any high pitch sound. My husband tells me I'm deaf all the time. I hate talking to people who whisper instead of talking as I have to read lips! And sometimes I have a hard time hearing the TV. I had perfect hearing before that incident...can you imagine? And I wear contacts, otherwise I'm blind as a bat! So there...you're not alone! lol I'm sure most people can relate.
Butterfly....the anticipation of a dinner out while on a diet is not fun at all! you have 2 proteins...the fish and the cottage cheese/sausage (what a combo!)....you can get grilled chicken even if it comes on a sandwich. or grilled fish...good luck and start mentally preparing for being POP on that day!
I am tired...tomorrow I have to take the kids to get their teeth cleaned and checked...let's hope there are no cavities! So far we've only had one between the 3 of them so that's not too bad.
Wasn't too POP today at the aunt's...guess what she had? Cake! Guess who had a slice? Me! Followed by...a bowl of ice cream! Yup! Oy oy oy!!!
good night!!!

Elina...Thanks for the input on that site and I'm going to give it a good try. I'm really looking forward to some sort of change in eating...even small ones. I tried some Jenny-O turkey burgers and they were simply awful!!! I have a whole box of them in the freezer to throw out first chance I get...yuck! I'm going to look at that buffalo Turkey burger you mentioned.
Nice you had a nice day with your kids and MIL. Kids just love puppies and they are just like kids themselves...always doing something they shouldn't!! lol
Lorraine...so sorry to learn of your health problems, but somehow they are all a part of life. My hubby has the same problem as Elina with high pitched sounds and I am always repeating myself. It gets on my last nerve sometimes because I believe it is selective hearing as well. I try to have patience, but I think I need to try a little harder. You really made me crack up at the "deaf as a darned post", that my dear was too funny and an expression I haven't heard before!!! lol I love it...and I guess nothing is ever so bad if we can still laugh at ourselves.
I did stay pop as I promised myself today and I'm feeling really good about it. Tomorrow I'll be gone all day...going to a casino with my friends, so wish me luck at the slots as I really need it. We will be having lunch there and it's a buffet, so I'll be able to have protein and a salad. I just have to stay away from the dessert table.
I will be going off to bed real soon as I have an early morning. I'll check in late evening, so until then you all a great day tomorrow!

Good morning!
I think I'm taking a rest day....my body needs to not workout today! Feeling sore all over...really need a massage!!!
Zas...it's pajamas or pj's for short in English. It's also pajama in Russian but so many words in Russian are taken from English and French b/c in the 18th or 19th century it was very fancy to speak those two languages for the rich . So we were talking about that and I don't know how that word came up and my mom said 'it's from french' and my neighbor was like 'no, it's Indian!' It was really funny actually the two of them arguing. But when you wrote pajuma the other day, you confirmed that it is in fact an Indian word...unless they got it from English too! lol
Congrats on your loss! 3lbs is actually not bad at all!! So are you done dieting for now?
Wow...connections in India sound complicated! Has anyone taken care of your house in Bombay? Is it all ready for you to use?
DeeDee...ready made turkey burgers are gross...they have no flavor. You should take them all out, defrost them, mush them all together and add in flavor and then form them into patties. Unless they are EXTRA lean....extra lean turkey is utterly disgusting. I buy packaged lean ground turkey...at Costco they have 4 packages. I started adding grated zucchini and carrots b/c I saw that in another skinny taste recipe and I really like that too. I like to make this odd concoction of eggs, sausage and cheese and a tbsp of pancake syrup. It sounds weird but it's really good.
Well I kept thinking about how unhealthy those Jimmy Dean turkey sausages must be and they are so salty. well the other day I added my turkey patty in it and wow...it was really good! So they are really versatile. And I give them to hubby with veggies...he demands a lot of veggies so this works for him.
Have fun at the casino today! Don't gamble too much! My MIL is a frequent gambler...she lives right by Atlantic City...she wins big but she also loses big too. I don't care for casinos...I never win. But when I do go there...wow...I can't stop!
Taking the kids to the dentist today....that's always fun. My dentist hates kids! lol He's my dentist and usually only takes growups but does this as a favor to me. He gets all stressed out...the kids are bigger now but a couple of years ago it was always a very stressful event for all of us!

Taking the kids to the dentist is fun ???? Lol Elina.....what about if it was for you !!! for me it's always stressful !!!
Connections in India is not complicated......lol.....same thing what we have here !!! Broadband as you know is portable Internet device.....and at mom's it is the same way as in Qatar.....DSL connection....think I mentioned LAN by mistake....lol.....
Actually why I am not thrilled with 3 lbs is because it was Cheat gain....never going to learn.....so basically I am going up and down......but I am still below 200 !!! I have 5 days before travel....think I should do a cycle till then....some of this weight will be gone !!!
Also got my p....so could be water retention too !! Let's see if I start I should from tomorrow !!!
Fil is still in Bombay so the house is clean we get lot of helpers out there....so basically apart for cooking i am free from all other work !!
Hubby will be there with us for a week then he will return....so lot of fish cooking....so I can ultimately rest and be relaxed when I go to my moms....there I do absolutely nothing....lol....sils cook and I eat !!!! Lol.
Eva....hey Eva....will you be in touch from there....you were totally MIA the last item round.....and for how long are you going ????
Take care and have fun !!! Will definetly miss you !!! Last edited on 28 June 2012 03:57 pm by zas

LADIES!
Welll... I was thrilled with the restaurant menu from last night . They had plain, baked chicken with cottage cheese and a side salad of spring greens. I took my Walden Farms' zero cal/zero carbs blue cheese salad dressing with me too.
So... POP still... and on day 4 Looking forward to my tuna salad with walnuts in it after my workout. I LOVE that... wrap it in a lettuce leaf or two.
KC ~ Woohooooo......way to GO!!
DeeDee ~ Way to go staying POP yesterday. You are probably off having fun. Yikes... a buffet.... a dieting pop nightmare! BTW....often with this diet, a couple pounds come off right at the end of a cycle...so don't get discouraged when you don't see the cheat gain gone right away. Always better to put the scale away if it tends to be discouraging when you do't see what you like there!
Lorraine ~ You are TOO funny! Sorry you aren't feeling up to par... at least you are keeping your spirits up and are able to have a laugh about it. So... why do you need 3 pair of glasses?
Zas ~ Awesome...you are still there............
I think Elina was joking about the dentist being "fun"....think she was being sarcastic. LOL!
Eva ~ Happy packing.... super excited for your Athens trip! Sounds awesome. Will miss you if you'll be MIA again.
Elina ~ Enjoy your rest day. Sounds like your muscles are screaming for a break. I still need to do mine. I should have done it this morning, because now it is 97 degrees out there! Oh well, I'll get a good sweat on! LOL!
Okay.... time to go chug my water and go workout...TTYL!
STAY POP, GIRLS!!!

Good morning!
Butterfly...I'm so glad that the menu was FL4I-friendly and you were able to stay on track!
As a matter of fact, I did mean that the dentist appt would be fun! What's not fun? Finding out that my son has two cavities and it's genetic b/c those molars have not even been in long enough? My genes...my mouth is full of fillings! lol
Or writing out a check for 3 kids? Loads of fun! lol
Actually I like my dentist...I've been going to him since I was 12. He's not like your traditional dentist...to start with, he has a thick Russian accent...lol And his office is in his converted garage and he doesn't have any fancy computerized equipment. But he is an excellent dentist...he went to two schools...one in Russia and one here.
His wife is his assistant and the two of them are really funny...he's like a nutty professor and she is there to keep him straight. He also doesn't like kids and only takes mine as a favor to me. Even though the kids were good, he gets stressed out at the slightest noise. but I get loads of compliments from his wife always about how thin I am and how I look like I'm my kids' older sister and lots of funny comments and jokes so I actually do like going there. Sometime next week I'll go there with hubby on a date...lol for a cleaning.
Zas....it's the weekend since you are not here! What are you up to today?
KC...I don't even know what a murphy board is but glad it's coming along!
DeeDee...how was the casino??
Lorraine...where are you hiding?
I have another long day ahead...my BFF and I are taking the kids to a lake with a beach....I'm kind of on the fence about going...I'm tired from being out for two days straight but at the same time I haven't seen her in a while and it'll be fun....I just have to workout, figure out what to pack as far as food, floating devices, etc etc and then drive there...45min Then it'll be fun...at the same time I'd love to go back to bed for a little bit more. But this friend is a pain in the butt b/c she is extremely strict with her kids' bedtime...they HAVE to be in bed by 7! One kid is 9 and one is 5.5...so with her, she has to be home in time to feed, bathe and bed by 7....I won't even dare ask her to leave a little later. So...off to workout I go! Skipped yesterday and really feel like doing the same today but I can't....chain reaction!
I'll be back later tonight.....wishing everyone a wonderful Friday!

Zas...you have really come a long way from those early days of weight loss!! That is wonderful. I know some days are so bad for you for all of us and we just have to push through them. I also admire your workout sessions...I have too many body parts that will object to it...my legs in particular. I'd like to do some extra walking, but it has been way too hot here and we have very little a/c for comfort. I know it sounds like a weak excuse, but I just don't have the energy or desire. It will have to wait until I'm feeling up to it and things change.
Count down days until vacation!!!
Eva...your vacation time is only 2 days away!!! Whoopie!!! Have a wonderful safe trip. We'll be anxious to hear all about it on your return.
Elina...the casino trip was a hoot! I had fun with my friends - they always keep me laughing. Didn't win, but managed to keep all my money except for $5 loss and THAT my friend is a win for me!!!
Enjoy your day at the beach...your weather is similar to ours...just be careful with Mr. Sun beating down on those little bodies playing about.
KC...I didn't know what a murphy board was either...wow it sounds like a great piece of furniture! I don't iron very much, but I too remember the days when my mom ironed everything in sight!! Thank goodness for all the new types of fabric. If I have to iron, I have one of those little table top ones...just enough to get the job done.
Loraine...hope you are feeling better...o'Arthur has a way of attacking when you least expect it. Hope the meds work for you.
I'll be back later...TTFN

Good morning.....
Where is Lorraine ? hope you are feeling better !!!
Had a busy day yesterday, teaching cooking shopping !!!! Came back after 11 pm ....and slept late.....I am up early as my youngest had school.....sheesh this is the first time she is going on a Saturday while everyone else is sleeping......it is due to the tests .....I don't how they create such schedules Well tomorrow will be her off and her sister will go .....
Had planned to start a new cycle yesterday , but then hubby got this warm Arabic breakfast......so.......
Being a weekend I knew it will be tough to start the first day....anyway I think I have started as of today....
Deedee. .....yes countdown begins !!!! Just 4 days more.....excited. But I do tend to get all traveling blues too !!!! Lol. Especially if lot of things have to be done......packing , finish off cooking for hubby. And of course cleaning the house before I leave.... don't know if hubby is going to do anything in 2 mths...
I have told him to often call some cleaner...but let's see.....whenever I have returned I have found the house in shambles....lol.....especially clothes everywhere !!!
Due to sand everywhere it' gets dusty pretty quickly !!
Elina.....your dental app does definetly sound like fun ......lol.....we miss those old family touch doctors....weren't they cool !!! Everything seems so professional nowadays !!!
How was your day with your BFF at the beach....was it hot !!!!
We had to leave to the neighbors in the late afternoon and I really can't say how hot the car was......phew !!!! It was just a 10 min drive or maybe less. But we were red when we got there...and of course perspiring........yes deedee I can get why you don't want to workout when it is so hot !!!!!
I have to confess I have not been working out diligently... ......it's just soooo hectic.....can't seem to find the time.....I know these are All excuses ....what's the big deal in finding only 20 mins......right ?
Ok gotta go ......sleep !!!!!! Last edited on 30 June 2012 02:49 am by zas

Evening All,
Last day of choice - tomorrow back on plan - praying the scale is kind in the morning as I had DQ today - Turtle Brownie Blizzard - was awesome!
I must confess I do not work out at all - we have so much going on with cutting fire wood - taking care of the critters and the garden I feel I get enough exercise - I do hop on my gazzel during my 3 free choice days if I have time
Was HOT today 92 for a high - did get a lot done today - my murphy cabinet is finished - hubby just needs to hang it for me - he also needs to fix my sewing machine so I can make my curtains for the laundry room. - another busy day tomorrow - need to finish making the doors for the greenhouse and plant my flowers
Hope everyone had a wonderful day

Good morning!
Excuses or not, got my workout done! My eating has been less than POP so the least I can do is that ...I really needed to sweat this morning and I did!
Zas, yes I love my 'old fashioned' dentist....there are really not a lot of those left..everything is super modern and super expensive...he is just a good dentist w/o all the bells and whistles.
Does the car have air conditioning? I bet in that kind of heat there is no air cond that will help, right?
It is HOT here and getting hotter! Yesterday was about 100 or maybe even 103 in some areas. I didn't know it was that hot until we drove home...at the lake it was nice as long as we were close to the water.
We had a blast....the friend I went with is one of my two oldest and closest friends. We are on the phone at least once a day but we haven't seen each other in a little while. The kids love to be together, she has two boys....my daughter used to love hanging out with them but now she was giving me a hard time that she didn't want to be the only girl...she wanted to hang out with her girl friends....but once we were there with the boys, she was just as happy.
Sooo...today we are going back to the lake later on b/c my neighbor/friend wants to go too. I have not been home in 3 days and I would love to spend a day doing nothing by the pool (we can now use our neighbors' pool) but guess today is not the day! Luckily our neighbors are not morning people so we decided to leave around 2-3pm.
Lorraine....I guess you're not feeling well since you have not been on for a couple of days. I hope you get better soon!
Butterfly...I am having a hard time finding time to do homework with the kids! Here I thought I was going to have so much time and I haven't at all. Next week may be just as busy b/c the 4th is smack in the middle of the week so we'll be down the shore. The one thing I do do is Kumon first thing in the morning b/c that is a must. Do you hometeach in the summer too?
DeeDee....glad you had fun at the casino with a minimal loss! I don't like to gamble b/c I never win...I always joke that I only won once in my life....my husband! lol My inlaws' shore house is 5min from Atlantic City....actually it's right across the inlet, we can see all the casinos from the house. My husband loves poker and used to play often. I would sometimes tag along and play on the slots....it would take me very little time to spend all the $$ I had...I can see how you can get addicted b/c I would want to keep going...once you are on a roll, it is fun. My MIL wins big all the time...for her to win 1,2, or 3,000 is not a big deal but I'm sure she loses big too! She gets lots of freebees from the casinos for playing...they recently went on a free cruise! My FIL jokes that those free meals and everything else costs him thousands!
Ok, off to start my day!

Hello all!
Butterfly : Hey! I told my boyfriend we can't go to restaurants always... ahah he knows I want to lose weight so he understands, we just eat less in restaurants.. and I eat better too! I think I lost 3 lbs just doing this.. normally, I guess when I'll start a new cycle, it will be gone real quick! :D
I should start a cycle soon.. I always say that, but this time I should do it for real, I know it's working! :D
And back on the bike... go go go! :P
Have a great week-end all!

Good Evening Everyone,
Started new cycle (#3) today - scale was kind 156 this AM - I'll take it.
Elina - you cook rutabaga like a turnip/squash - peel it boil til tender and mash add butter, salt and pepper to taste - yum - yeah I know butter a no no but I think there is a sprinkle fake butter out there - I still cook with butter just not as much (Yeah, I'm bad) heehee - Thanks for the soup tips I will check it out - I also want to look at the skinny taste website you all were talking about.
Zas - few more days - bet you're excited! Are you finished packing?
Lorriane - how are you feeling?
Butterfly - you asked where I got my murphy cabinet - I found it in an antique shop in Georgia while visiting my sister.
Another HOT day here - more things checked off my list - new things added.
Have a happy day!!!

so hope fully will take out time today for workouts and to finish off packing !!
elina....busy busy !!!! but at least you are having fun.....and who said vacation can be relaxing !
i will relax once i reach moms place ....lol....
yes the car had air conditioning...but if its almost 115 outside you can imagine how hot a closed car can become...so it takes some time for it to cool down !!! phew !!
have to check if my laptop has all the workouts i require !! i will take them with me and then see what i can adjust with out there......i like privacy when i workout and it can get hard to find it out there...lol.....especially at moms place...i would go for evening walks on the terrace of the building when i was there the last time!
so i feel i should also pack my walking shoes ....right ?? ya and also my scale
deedee...how are you doing ???

Good Morning!
Zas - I have fruit day today as well - I made a smoothie of sorts for breakfast - do you pick the sandwich option? I do it's incentive for the day I know I get a sandwich for supper LOL
Your girls must be excited that school is almost out and they get to go on a trip to visit grandma! Yes, take those walking shoes. Do you get to go visit often?
My mom is coming in a couple of weeks - it's been 3 years since I have seen her - but we talk ALL the time on the phone.
Tackling more projects this afternoon. Will drop in later.
Have a Pop Day!

Hi Everyone! I was MIA yesterday b/c I went to visit my daughter - she lives 40 mils away so it was a nice drive in the a/c car!! I didn't get home until midnight...I love visiting and my kids have to practically push me out the door to go home, especially that no matter which family I visit it's about the same amount of time traveling and they worry about me driving late at night. They worry about me the way I worried about them all those years ago when they were teens! lol Pay back is tough!! lol
Elina...I know exactly what you mean about not wanting to go to casinos because you don't win...that is me to a "T"! I am very unlucky, but the nice thing here is when I go with the club members it cost $25. That includes the comfy bus ride there/back, the casino gives us $15 slot money, and free Buffet!!! Now how can you go wrong with that? Now of course who only spends $15 at the slots...no one I know, so anything else you put in is on you. I played for a long time on "their" money and only lost the $5 of mine, so to me it was a win because I lost my shirt the last time I went and I was not going to be foolish this time. It's a learning process knowing when to quit. I don't go very often, probably only 6-8 times my whole life!! So as you can see I'm not much of a gambler! lol
KC...I can certainly feel your excitement about seeing your mom soon! I lived in Seattle for 2 yrs and it about killed me being away from family. My folks came out one time while I was there, and it was the best ever. Fortunately I moved back home because I ended in divorce out there with 2 kids, so back home I went...happiest day of my life!!
Zas...sounds like you are in control and will be on your way soon...everything will fall into place beautifully and your travel blues will end in no time at all!
That's about it for now...everyone have a nice day... and by the way Ghost Writer...you seem to have a great attitude and in control...good luck when you start your cycle!

Hi ladies Sorry I have not been here all weekend and thank you all so much for the well wishes. Though I am having a bit of a flare up of the arthritis, that is not the reason I haven't been on here. Friday we completely gutted the lounge of all furniture and fixings so hubby could paint the ceiling and walls before the new wooden flooring is fitted.. so the computer, router and all had to be disconnected and removed until the painting was done. So I had no internet until now. This weekend we have redecorated the lounge, hall, stairway and landing.. just one more coat of paint to go on the stairway and that will be all the walls and ceilings done. The lounge is finished ready for when our friend is available to fit the flooring and we have just finished putting the furniture etc back in.. hence back on the internet! Hubby did most of the work because I'm still suffering with the arthritis though I did help out with the painting on the lower parts of the walls.. and of course I was designated coffee maker and the clean up after him slave! lol plus everything that had been taken out of the room had to be sorted and cleaned before putting back in.. so a lot of work!
Sorry I don't have time to reply to each of your posts at the moment as I need to jump in the shower and get cleaned up but I wanted to pop in to let you know all is well
Catch up with you all tomorrow... stay pop!

Good evening!
Zas...are you up yet? I just realized that you are leaving on Wed....I'm sure it'll take you a couple of days to get back on here with travels and all...I'm going to miss you! I know I haven't been on here but I do read...didn't have time to post this morning. Are you all ready?
DeeDee....my mom lives 2miles away and I can't imagine being any further away from her! And my inlaws are about a mile.....I like being close to everyone even if I don't see the inlaws too much. How does your daughter manage w/o your help? Does she have little kids? That's nice that you visit...makes it special!
KC...you haven't seen your mom in 3yrs??? My mom goes crazy if two days go by w/o seeing me or the kids...but then again I am an only child!
Lorraine, glad you're feeling better and well enough to help out with renovations. What is a lounge? Is it a common room such as a family room? How nice that you are redoing your house...that is exciting! When will the floors go in?
Eva....did you leave fro Athens yet? Does that mean that you won't be around either??? Enjoy!
Ghostwrite..nice to see you back! It's good that your b/f is understanding about you being on a diet...how come you guys don't stay in and cook sometimes?
I had a few busy days, this week should be calmer. Yesterday we went to the same lake that I went to on Friday but this time with our neighbors. We didn't know there were going to be fireworks so it all worked out great...we didn't get there until late afternoon so we were able to stay until 9pm when fireworks started...it was spectacular. it was a beautiful day there...kids had lots of fun. It's been super hot here so the only way you can survive is somewhere by the water.
I'm off to bed....I spent first half of the day in bed....I knew all this running around would catch up to me and it did...I needed to do nothing and I got to do just that! Now I"m ready for Monday...of course it doesn't matter what day of the week it is...every day is a weekend in the summer! :)
Good night girls!
or Good morning Zas! lol

Hello!
Zas...I'm here, just didn't realize that I didn't post yet! I was up early around 4am but no one had posted at that time. I made a pot of soup and went back to bed around 6...I woke up at 9 feeling awful! I feel fine now, although would love to take a little nap. Hung out by the pool with the kids and now have to take them to the learning center. Luckily it will be closed until next week so we'll get a little break...they still have to do daily homework though!
I am attempting to do my 3 day detox....trying to 'reset' from the bad behavior over the weekend. Today is day 2...yesterday I was fine all day...today not so much! Just had my 3rd shake and it's only 3pm....I have my salad left and that is it until tomorrow! I feel better now....I was really hungry and unhappy!
It is so quiet in here....is everyone on summer vacation???
Ok I'm being paged by hungry children! BBL.....

I'm here!
Well, still doing bits and pieces about the house... washing down woodwork and other cleaning but I've been dogged all day with horrible pain inside my left cheek and gum area which has spread up the side of my face to my temple. I can barely eat or drink anything because when I do it hurts so bad it is unbearable. Now this evening it's turned into a huge hard lump between the upper left hand side gum and cheek which feels like an absess forming so I will have to visit the dentist in the morning. Though I don't know what they can do because it's nothing to do with a tooth as it is right at the back above where I had the back tooth removed last year. I finished the steroids yesterday and apparently if you have any kind of infection forming the steriods can make it worse once they are stopped because they suppress the immune system and allow any infection to thrive.. I think that is what's caused it. The steroids didn't help the arthritis much anyway so I wish I'd never taken them now. I'm sick of always being in pain and wish it would just all go away! Just taken some of my extra strong painkillers and trying to keep busy to take my mind off it for now but dreading going through the night!
Anyway, moan over!
Zas... Hope your trip goes well and look forward to seeing you back here soon
Elina... I definitely could not do that 3 day detox you talk about! I have to eat something and a shake would just not do it for me.. but I do admire your dedication and sticking with it. Oh.. and yes, a lounge is a sitting room/family room
Ghostwrite.. Good to hear from you and glad you are still doing well with your weight loss. Let us know if you start a new cycle.. keep us posted
Wonder where everyone has gotten to? It is unusually quiet in here!
Hope everyone has a good week.. take care!

Hi All!!!
Boy was it HOT today - humid ick - doing yard work in that stinks but it needs to get done LOL
Zas glad to hear your packing is almost done - not long now - so glad the testing is about over that must be stressful for you and the kids. Your hubby is gonna be fat by the time you get home all that food!!! I guess it is good he will have his buddies over to help him eat it all. Awesome that you get to visit your family every year - how long does it take to get there? Hope you have a safe trip - look forward to hearing from you when you get there!
Elina - your husband and I share a birthday - I'll hit 50 this year - oh yeah AARP discounts woohoo! Yes, it has been 3 years since I've seen Mom but we talk on the phone all the time (next best thing to being there). What is the detox you are doing?
Lorriane - So glad you are off steroids - nasty stuff and yes I do believe they can enhance certain conditions. Sounds like you have an abscess and they will probably put you on antibiotics. Have you looked into alternative therapies for you arthritis? Apple cider vinegar is supposed to be helpful for that and other things as well. Hope you get it taken care of and back to feeling well. Redoing your house sounds lovely - I love wood floors - we have wood throughout - we really need to redo the front foyer as the wood gets wet with the rain and snow plus the mud in spring ick - I saw a floor that was done in pennies - I would love to do that it looks fantastic!
I have to giggle when you all congratulate me for gaining a pound LOL
Have a great evening!!

Good morning!
Wait...it's not the 4th yet...where is Zas??? Is this what it's going to be like when she's gone??? lol
Lorraine....the shake thing is actually just like your fruit day only instead of fruit, I drink a shake....so it's 3 shakes a day and a salad with protein for dinner. The shake fills me up a little more than fruit does but I still get hungry...usually by the time I'm hungry, it's time for another shake so it's not too bad.
The shake is a complete meal and it has more nutrition than any other meal replacement (well so they claim)...it's called shakeology and it's beachbody's proprietary formula. I can only drink the shakes when I'm purposely 'detoxing' b/c I don't usually like to drink my meals. I recently saw a neat recipe of making chocolate peanut butter cups out of this shake and that's what I've been doing....I make 4 cups and eat them instead of drinking the shake....doesn't get on my nerves like the drinking does!
KC...is your bday on 7/31? My hubby will be 40.....How will you celebrate yours?
Yes we do congratulate on only 1lb loss....lol it's hard to not gain over cheat days!
Did you start your new cycle yet?
DeeDee....where are you hiding? and what day of the cycle is it for you? Is Thurs your last day?
Butterfly...ok seriously....did you fly away??? Come back!!!
Eva...you must be in Greece enjoying fresh Feta cheese, home made spinakopita and all the other amazing Greek foods! Well....have fun!!
I am going to go make crepes for breakfast....I have two extra kids here that slept over. Then it'll be pool day...tomorrow we will be heading down the shore for 4th of July...wow I love summer! So nice not to have to live by a schedule!
I'll be back later....

Zas, I forgot about your little post...I was doing detoxing..well not really detoxing..that's what I call it...I was telling Lorraine that it's just like fruit day after a bad weekend only instead of fruit, it's a shake. I just feel better when I do it...I was not really good for a couple of days last week. I'm having too much fun this summer...including eating!
what is " it is made of meat, pulses and wheat" - pulses? What kind of dish is that? Your hubby is going to be feasting while you're gone! Do you have to give him specific instructions as to what's in there and how to heat it up?
I just spent over 2hrs by the pool with all 6 kids....my next door neighbors have been nice enough to allow us to use their pool for about 5yrs...it is a very generous gesture and I really appreciate it.
Are you done with schooling?
I just realized that my kids have to do their homework...this is why I like to do it first thing in the am but they had friends over...
Gotta go feed the hungry munchkins! BBL...maybe someone else will check in by then! When Zas leaves, it'll be me talking to myself in here! lol

Elina - yes, my birthday is 7/31 - I'll be 50!! My hubby turns 50 about a week later - we usually go out to supper to celebrate both our birthdays - we stopped getting gifts for each other years ago (we will be married 29 years in Nov) It got rather silly.
Zas - Safe travels - wow 12 hours for a 3 hour trip - in this day an age you'd think they would have a better system. You'll have a fantastic time!!!Enjoy!!!

KC...I don't give gifts either...what can I give my husband? He is the one making all the $$...lol it would be like he's buying an expensive gift for himself which he doesn't do! He usually says that he only needs my love so there...that's what he gets! 365 days a year...a gift that keeps on giving! Although I do like gifts, he's not too consistent with those. We are going to have a small party/get together for him at his parents' shore house. His 30th bday was so amazing that we'll never be able to top that.....I think one giant suprise party in a lifetime is plenty!
Zas...yes safe travels! It is amazing that it takes so long to go through immigration! Did you get the shoes for your son??
Off to buy food for the shore.......I love 4th of July parties!

HEY LADIES!!!! I am BACK!!
Okay, does NO ONE watch/listen to the news!? LOL! Did NO ONE hear that almost 2 million people were out of power from the thunderstorms that ripped through the states last Friday!? LOL! I thought SURE you all would know where I was, because of the…..NEWS??? hahaha
Our county was declared a state of emergency. Our little town was actually hit the worst in our county. Then, the governor declared a state of emergency for the entire state of ohio! We have had no electricity since FRIDAY! It just came on about an hour ago. There were close to 300,000 people without power from our electric company alone and that was only for Ohio.
I will see if I can post some pics later on. Our little town looked like a war zone. We had faster than hurricane straight-line winds rip through here. Hundred year-old trees were toppled over, roots and all! We had a HUGE, old oak tree go down and miss our house by a FOOT! It landed on another tree… a hickory nut tree…. And split it in half. Lost a bunch of other huge limbs, etc. Electric poles all down our road were just snapped in half and one right in front of our house had a tree fall on top of it, so our road was also closed and we couldn’t get to town…
One headline compared the storm to hurricane IRENE! They said there was actually more damage and there were more outages from this storm than there was from hurricane Irene! It said the storm was called a “derecho”….defined as: “A widespread and long-lived wind storm that accompanies rapidly moving showers or thunderstorms". The winds were 90mph and higher. They actually took out entire power grids!!
I am thankful though... no one that I know of in our town or surrounding area was hurt. I am going to try to catch up on some shows tonight and then go to bed. Waiting desperately for the A/C to cool the house down!
Talk to you all tomorrow!

Never fear…DeeDee is here!!! Although I had my doubts when the storm came through on Sunday afternoon. Winds up to 90 mph and trees were uprooted all over the area, but most damage was done to the power lines. It is not as bad as Butterfly’s area, but we were without power until about 7:30 this evening. Thank God for our neighbor across the street…they allowed us to hook up to their power. All the people on my side of the street were down. There were generators roaring all over the area, but we couldn’t get ours started, so like I said, thank God for good neighbors. I had just gone grocery shopping the day before so my fridge was packed with food and that is what I was most worried about. We got that going, two small fans and the TV. But OMG the heat was absolutely horrible with humidity way up too!! My kids were so worried about us and called us every few hours wanting us to come stay with them, but we wanted to stay put. I’m just glad it’s over with…at least for now and hoping the storms that are in the forecast won’t be damaging.
I read some of the posts and everyone had so much to say. Lorraine, I sure hope you get to feeling better. You must be in such agony and my heart goes out to you. On a happier note, at least your house is getting a face lift, right?
Everyone else, I hope you all have a happy July 4th here in the US, although all of our other friends should have a nice day as well!! Please remember our service men and women…they certainly deserve the respect.
I probably won’t be back here until Thursday, so until then stay well and be good!!

Wow Butterfly....I'm ashamed to admit that I also had no idea! I don't watch the news b/c I am never in front of the TV when it's on. I skim the yahoo headlines but didn't see anything! I'm glad you are ok! Did you hit by Irene last year? B/c we were supposed to but all we got was bad rain and wind.
My FIL called and told us that on Friday they had a really bad storm down by Atlantic city with lots of power outtage and damage....I saw on FB that an amusement park down there is closed for a few days due to damage but we got nothing but some rain (we're a little over an hour away). And if I didn't hear from FIL about AC, I also wouldn't have had any idea!
How did you manage w/o power? Do you have a generator? How about air cond?
Zas....have a safe trip!!!
We are heading down the shore in the am for one night..it feels like today is friday but it's not!
Good night!

Wow DeeDee...you too??? We've had power outtages here and the refrigerator is definitely an issue! I think the longest we had our power out was overnight and it was a nightmare b/c of the heat! I'm glad you're all back to normal!
Zas...either you're up in the air or in line for immigration..wherever you are, hope you are having a wonderful start to your long awaited vacation! Don't worry about the weight...just eat in moderation and if you so desire do a fruit day here and there...I'd do 3 fruits and salad but a yogurt would also work if you want...it's protein.
Well...right now it's pouring...let's hope it's going to stop or it's really going to pee on our parade! Well at least on our beach day and fireworks!
Umm...Lorraine's been missing too....I hope it's not due to any power outtages! lol How are you? done with your renovations? Did the floor go in yet? How does it look? Pics please!
Ok well I gotta go get my workout out of the way and then I need to clean up...I hate leaving my house messy b/c I don't like coming back to a messy house.
so....I will def check back in later and from my phone but I'll probably be back to post tomorrow.
All who celebrates, happy 4th and all who doesn't...happy Wednesday!
