I read your post in Hisgal's diary. So glad to hear you are feeling better! That's great news. You keep taking good care of yourself!
I hadn't heard of ginger before for when you are sick, that's interesting. I'll have to keep it in mind. Do you think eating ginger bread men would have the same effect?

Not sure if they would, but, they sure would bring the comfort of holidays and love and that is always a plus, , or course if you go over board........
Thanks for checking in Sassycat.
I just keep plugging along........so glad that it doesn't feel like the good days are gone, but, they are back again.

Had a flair up of the RA this weekend, Friday and Saturday, not the swelling so much this time, but the aches, I think I will be able to predict snow.....I didn't even want to get up on Saturday. But, I have been told that I will have good days and bad, Sunday wasn't to bad, a little swelling and some aching in my lower back, and feet and ankles............hands only in the morning at least. Well, will weight in tomorrow, hopefully I didn't go to overboard.

Hi All, Hi His Gal,
Yes, I have been gone for a while now. Sorry, just not up to keeping up on the computer, been really busy and just have time to read the posts, and sometimes I get behind on that and don't even have time for that.
Just to let you know what is going on in my life, My RA is almost under control for the time being, still having some flair ups, but nothing like was before, RA dr is weening me off the prednisone, and I am taking methotrexite for the RA 5 pills 1 time a week. This should hlep my fibromalga also. Sorry the spelling is really bad. At night I take a muscle relaxer so that my muscles don't cramp up at night. My RA is feeling so well that I don't have to take any pain killers during the day, which is great. I am still on a water pill that helps keep my potassium levels up, since for some reason they are so low, and it also keeps the water off me. My cardio dr has released me other than to have blood work done every 6 months to monitor the potassium levels. My blood sugar is still wacky, but that may be because of the prednisone. So hopefully that will straigten out once I am off the prednisone. Otherwise I am feeling pretty good.
My ex-husband the father of my children passed away suddenly right after the new year. He got really sick and bleed out on 12/30/2008, his heart stopped on the way to the hosp, but, they got it going again and had the bleeding stopped until new years eve where he bleed out again and they took him to er surgery worked on him all day of the new year and the day after, but he was bleeding out as fast as they were putting the blood back into him. He ended up being brain dead. This was really hard on my 2 boys, they are the youngest. My ex-husband was only 48 and in very good shape, we all thought. His wife told me that he had really bad ulcers, and chrones disease really bad, and arthritis, which they were treating with prednisone and celebrex (I think), well, from what his wife told me he continued to take his aleve when he was hurting and that caused his ulcer to eat all the way thru his stomach. I don't understand why he wasn't told not to take the aleve, my RA dr, said in no uncertain terms was I to take any NSAIDS while on the predisone or the methotrexite as it will cause you to bleed out quickly from ulcers because it is really rough on the stomach. His wife said that he has had ulcers for their entire marriage which was about 12 years. So my life has been very hectic lately.
I am still working out on the bicycle, I am able to ride it for 8 miles about, and that is for about 18 minutes, I am thinking maybe I am not pushing myself enough, but, I have noticed when I do more it bothers my RA. So for now I will stick with the 18 minuts and 8 miles. I am also walking for 15 minutes at work, the days it is to cold out, I walk the back hallway and also climb one flight of stairs in the walk, that way I am getting 30 minutes of exercise in. My weight is still fluctuating because I am not always eating right, and that is my fault, just because life is hectic doesn't mean that I can't eat healthy.
Well update later with weight. Oh yea we are having a biggest loser competition at work and I have joined it, today was offical weigh in day and we will do this for 12 weeks. We get prizes and entered into drawings for the amount of weight we loose and for meeting our challenges. It hopefully will help me.
Talk with you all later.

Hi Judy glad to hear things are getting better........improvement is always good!
I was especially thinking of you over New Year's. I got off my ADD during the holidays........and at about 2 weeks, I started having my allergy symptoms kick in again. I was so miserable again..........and I was worried about getting a sinus infection, with all the drainage I had. And I wanted to scratch my eyes out, they were itching so bad. Well, finally after being back on it for 2 weeks now, I am feeling much better.
Will look forward to seeing you back on more regularly, as things improve.

HI All, I am just a wishy washer weight loser, no, sorry I have been off so long, lots of things going on in my life and have been very busy and very tired. Will try and start posting more and getting back on track.
I am now on Enbrel for my Rheumatoid Arthritis, it has been about 3 1/2 weeks and it can take up to 6 months to start reaping all the benefits, but some of my energy levels have come back up. I am hoping that it makes a difference in my feet and ankles soon, so that I can stand to walk more than 20 feet before I have to sit down.
The weight loss as been a total no go, I am up today to 266lbs, something I said I would never do, I am trying to watch what I eat but, somewhere I keep goofing, so I will have to start weighing and measuring and writing everything down that I eat.
Wish me luck on my next journey into the weight loss this time for the better.
Judy

Today again I am battling the Asthma, had to have a breathing treatment yesterday and looks like I will have to get one again today, going to try and see the doctor today instead of the walk in clinic. Well, I wanted to try and be healthy in my eating, instead I hardly ate anything yesterday. Had 1 egg poached, a pc of whole wheat toast w/1 tsp of margarine, 1 pc of turkey backon, no lunch and about 3 bites of beef tenderloin, mushrooms and onions and a little wild rice. Today nothing, yet, not breathing makes you not very hungry. Did drink lots of water and sugar free cranberry juice. Will add more later, after I call the dr and work.

Still not much for eating today, snacked a little drank some milk and water, not sure what is going on, did eat an apple and some mixed canned fruit packed in water, not syrup. Feeling a little better, today is my birthday, so hubby made dinner. My eats today
Breakfast, sausage gravy and biscuit, 1 cup of skim milk
Lunch, salad of lettuce and tomatoe and 1 tsp of salad dressing, and yes, I use the full fat flavored ones, since I use such a small amount, I want the taste, I hate to drown my salad.
Dinner, 3 oz's of steak (tenderloin), with mushrooms and onions, 1 cup of green beans, and 1/2 cup of creamed corn. 1 rolling rock beer. (we were out of wine)
Snack, shared a 100 calorie smart pop popcorn with hubby and the dreaded coca cola, I really need to quit drinking these, but the hubby did drink some of this also.
Not an awful day, much better than usual and at least I am eating again, and trying to weigh and measure my food.
Did go out and take a walk today in this lovely weather that we had. I think that it reached 65 today here in middle Wisconsin, much warmer than it should be enjoyed the sunshine and warmth. The walk was just what I needed.

Hey,
Thanks for posting in my diary. I did have a little freak-out, but everything you said made sense, and was helpful.
I'm sorry you're feeling rough at the moment. Hope you start feeling a lot better soon.

Here I go again, I keep saying I am going to post everyday and then life gets in the way and I don't get to post, only get to read what is on the site very quickly. Not doing to bad, am trying to eat healthy and small portions, have had a few slip ups, nothing major, just a minature 3 musketeers bar and mini peanut butter cup , 1 of each, 1 on Wed. and 1 on Friday. But, otherwise doing well. I had 2 pcs of turkey bacon, 1 scrambled egg and 1 pc of cinamon toast for breakfast, that had 1 tsp of butter. Will post more later.

Hi Judy
Thanks for coming over to check on me, when you came back to CPH. I've been wondering how you were doing. Sounds like it's been tough..........and a lot of meds just to keep you going.
I guess you've read how I've been doing I've been on the Alternate Day Diet for about 1-1/4 years...........and felt so good. 2 weeks off of it, in favor of the one from the Women to Women site which is suppose to also help regulate hormones.........and all my allergy symptoms came back. I didn't realize it right away, but I'm even reacting to dairy products again, which I didn't do on ADD. I keep wondering how you would do on that diet............would your symptoms go away in 2 weeks? I guess I wouldn't believe it, if I hadn't experienced it myself.
Well, keep checking in with us.............I know it helps me keep on track. Especially when I post every single thing that goes in my mouth...........then total up the calories. Accoutability is the key, I think
