Hi,
I had my bypass just out of high school, and with some complications in the beginning, I did lose 117 lbs. Would I do it again....??...not unless I proved to myself that without a doubt, I would learn to eat healthy first. I have gained back about 70 of those pounds, and my skin is saggy on my arms and legs. I did have a tummy tuck, but the scar is from hip to hip ... not pretty. For me, I know that it comes down to making a permanent lifestyle change, and accepting that it is a very long process to get to my goal weight and stay there. Baby steps.......
Having the surgery should not be viewed as a "fix" to being overweight...it is the mindset that needs to change and get healthy. I struggle still today....23 years later!
If anyone would like to ask questions...feel free.
