On March 15,2005 I went in for Gastric bypass surgery at 505 lbs. to date I have lost 205 lbs, but I am just beginning my exercise journey due to a back injury. I can walk about 22 minutes or 1/2 a mile on the treadmill at an interval. I am really at a loss as to how to plan out a program or how to titrate up to a productive session. I am interested in opinions or suggestions. Please know that I am not advocating this surgery for everyone, but it saved my life, and we can only be an expert on our own experience.
Thanks.:P

Hi there -
It's important to get your workouts right, so the one thing you should do (if your machines aren't already fitted with them) is buy a cheap heart rate monitor (chest strap and wristwatch) to make sure you're exercising in the fat-burning zone.
It should also stop you from overexerting and getting sore.
Good luck,
NevD
