My thighs are slightly swollen and have cellulite. After research I´ve discovered its due to water retention. So I´ve been advised to drink at least 2 litres of water a day, and even up that to 3 litres.
Anybody having the same problem or did have and now is cured?
I´d love to have some feedback on the subject. It´s really playing with my self esteem when I´m in a bicini.
Obviously I´m massaging everynight and walking at least 20 minutes a day. Can I do anything else?
How is your sodium intake? Eating too much of it will cause you to retain water. Also, make sure you consume sufficient potassium, as not getting enough will also cause water retention.
Do you drink coffee? Caffeine is a diuretic, which means it elevates the formation of urine by the kidneys. This imbalance will cause your body to hold onto more water. If you drink coffee, then make it a point to drink some water at the same time.
Finally, the biggest factor that helps me keep water retention down is good old exercise. Not only does sweating help release water, but it also gets harmful toxins out of your body. It's summer now. Make it a point to walk outside during the day, when the sun is shining brightly. It will help you sweat and give you Vitamin D at the same time.
