Okay,
Two weight loss buddies and we are all trying to keep our cals at around 1200. I don't mind if I get to 1500 once in a while, but 1200 works the best for me. I am new to posting so if you two think I need it, feel free to help me out.
Here we go. Here is my weight loss ticker. I've dropped 10 pounds since just before Christmas, and I'm hoping to make my goal by the time school starts in August!

| I did my twenty minutes of kickboxing this morning. Okay, I didn't make it throught the whole 20 minutes without a break, but at least I made it through. Hopefully I can get my 40 minutes of pilates in after work tonight. Yesterday was good. I was actually right at 1200 calories which was great. I really have to calculate. 1200 calories can be more food than what I think. If I am eating healthy.

Hi,
Glad you made it.
I don't have a diet plan per say. I kinda started this a while ago... Trying to cut pop out of my diet. (I have a terrible addiction to Pepsi products and I don't really like diet.) And finally I ended up here.
I try to keep right at 1200 calories a day, but like I said, if I hit 1500, I'm okay with that. Just not very often! I simply am trying to eat more fruits and veggies and cut out the junk. I don't have a rigid anything except that I try to drink a liter of water and a liter of green tea everyday. I track all the calories I eat to make sure I don't go over and try to mix it up as much as possible. I also don't eat after 8 if possible. A rigid diet would probably drive me crazy, but I'm glad it's working for you. The saddest part for me really is cutting back on the meat. I'm a huge fan of beef and eating more fruits/veggies than red meat is a first for me.

sorry, I know this sounds really vague, but I tried cutting things completely out or doing other things and it just never worked. So now I just pay attention to the calories I ingest and keep a running tally in my head. It's easier right now because I'm only working part-time. I'm also working hard to workout everyday. (Also a first for me.) I just decided to add the aerobic element, and I think I hit it too hard all at once, so I'm backing off a little there until I get more comfortable working out twice in one day.
I don't have a cheat day. For the same reason I have to work out everyday instead of three times a week. If I start to cheat, I quit. End of story. Do I cheat a little? Yeah. Like tonight, 27 dresses, popcorn and a Pepsi. On the upside, they were smalls, I didn't put butter on the corn, and I didn't get the Sour Patch kids. So I still ended up at 1580 cals for the day.
Sorry that was so long! Hope you had time for it.
What kind of aerobics are you doing? An hour? you are tougher than me!

hey girls i think i'd like to join you! i am on a plan that has been way too relaxed lately so i'm going to step it up and really make sure i stick between 1200-1500 a day as well. i am 5'9 and 154 lbs, my goal is 135, i used to be 170 last year and i worked my butt off last spring and summer to get down to 155 and i've hovered there for the past 5 months, but now i'm gonna get rid of the rest of it. I'm hoping to make it to my goal by april, which is when i'm going to live with my hubby for the summer and i want to be fabulous!
my plan is running about 5-6 kms 3 times a week, with pilates every other day. this will start on monday, as i told shabz, and i'm really excited to start running again. i'm making a vow to never stop (i've gone through phases of running for a few months and then stopping SOOO many times).
today i ate:
breakfast: 2 pc toast 150
peanut butter & honey 160
yogurt 100
snack clemintine 20
lunch Banana bread (yum) 200 (not so yum)
that brings me to about 630 and i have to work until 6, then for supper i haven't decided yet but for sure i'll be able to stay within my 1200 today.
i try not to have cheat days....like vgreet if i cheat i go way overboard (from my old habits of binge eating) but if i stay on track i don't go off very easily.

Welcome to the group! It sounds to me like you have already done an awesome job of dropping weight. I'm sure we can get you down to where you want to be by April. I slept in this morning, so I need to get going. I'll check back later!

well well, i guess we have to focus on our food first, we should know what is healthy for us.
lets make a target......... for a week,
to day is saturday, so from MONDAY ,(1st day of the week ) till next sunday, we should achive these targets....! i read some where , DO or DONT DO....... there is NO TRY...!
so if u both gonna commit with me that you both will eliminate these things from ur food for the next 1 week, thn lets start............
_________________________________________________________________
for the next 1 week starting from MONDAY, lets ELIMINATE these things from our food
1- sugar ---- all white sugars (can add brown but one tsp)
2- have to drink 2 lits of water every day or try to achive this target atleast 3 days of the week till next sunday...
__________________________________________________________________
what you say about it? can we DO IT| or NO? leme know so i will join in too
well i go for aerobics 5 days a week, sun to thurs- RPM, TBT, fablous abs, steps and abs, tae boo
and i walk on tread mill as well to burn off 250 cals
each aerobic class of 60 mins burn approx 400-450 cals, so plus walk = around 700
BUT to loss 1 kg in one week it should b 1000 CALS atlests to burn per day, but i guess its better to stick with the same plan other wise i feel tired and energy less.
well here i promise I WILL NOT HAVE ANY MORE CHEAT DAYS.....!

hmmmm well i have one suggestion for healthy snake for u which u can have during ur work till 6, thats baby carrots or apple but first choice is baby carrots,
it has vitamin A , which is v v good for us, and v healthy.
thats wonderful u gona start running, well i can not run for long on tread mill, i do brisk walking, and run for 40 to 60 secs with few intervals , thats all i can do,, so thats why i stay longer on tread mill to burn just 250 cals
n yess ur diet plan is so perfect, ur break fast is v healthy and one of best dear,,
keep it up,

here is my todays progress,
i had my smothie for break fast
i had my honey oat bar+apple + tea for lunch
today was sat so no aerobics so i tried to stick with tread mill and i achivedmy target of burning 400 cals on tread mill, for first time, co zi was so determine to do coz there was no aerobic class, i was wondering how am i gona burn more cals today ...
i will have my dinner , mix vegs in some my self invented soup or some curry sort of with olive oil.
by the way i am vegetratian,(i eat fish too for omega 3) i turned vegetarian 2 years before when i was having so much trouble with my monthly cycle coz no periods for 3 to 4 months, doc examined every thing, and she told me i dont any medicine i just need to change my LIFE STYLE ---- she told me to change few things in my diet, and can u bleive, after just two months without any medicine i got my periods and till date i have them regularly....
i was missing my vitamin A & E , omega 3. which are very very important for girls of our age, for fertility, egg ovulation, female harmones,
i included all those things in my diet which have these vitamins, to reduce weight and to get these vitamins from food - i have become vegetratian too,
so i got my periods regular,
my skin become so clear and fair
i feel healthier

yes yes yes! i will do the NO SUGAR and 2 LITRES of water a day this week...i drink water like a fish anyway but i will make sure that i get enough...
i should''ve taken a snack to work because i got soo hungry that i came home and ate a meal that was too big for me and now i have a horrible tummy ache! its sounds healthy--whole grain rice, steamed veggies, tomato sauce with curry, and a sliced up honey garlic sausage--but i think i just had too much of each thing and my cals are probly around 1600-1700 for the day maybe more i'm not sure...oh yea and i had a few crackers when i first got home to tide me over while i cooked...
and the only excercise i got was about 1/2 hour of brisk walking (to and from work) so i didn't burn off very much....i feel like a lump i can't wait to go running i will feel so much better!
shabz i think you have an amazing plan, you eat very small portions and do so much excercise! you will inspire to do better!
i think maybe this week i'll try cutting out meat products as well...i think the sausage is what gave me the tummy ache, and i've been thinking about becoming at least a semi-vegetarian for a long time now...
i hope you both had a good day!

Well girls,
The cutting out meat is not an option for me, but I wish you the best of luck. It's almost sacriligious coming from my background. Can I count my liter of green tea, or do I need 2 liters of water on top of that. I usually get about 1.5 liters of plain water and another liter of the tea in a day. The white sugar. Hmmm... Except for my Pepsi yesterday, I don't think I've had any white sugar this week anyway. When are we starting this? My cousin's birthday party is tomorrow. Cheesecake will probably be involved, and I will probably have a sliver. For real, just a little bit. I really haven't been doing the sugar thing. With no munchies of that sort in the house its easier. This will be a serious challenge. I'll see what I can do. This week will be my period, and I get major chocolate cravings at that time. Major baking urges too. (Love the brownies!) How long are we doing this for? I'll join in for the sake of the team, but really when I made my latest diet plan I told myself I wasn't going to ixnay anything out right, just make more consciencious (is that spelled right?) decisions, and its working much better for me.

My day actually went really well today. I got 20 minutes of kickboxing and 40 minutes of pilates in. My calorie count was 1181. I did have to eat after 8 because we were too busy at work. But over all I'm happy. I'm feeling better. I think yesterday was just and emotional downing day. My green tea is almost finished. Since we're sharing diets for today.
Cereal this morning
for lunch:
grapes, baby carrots, Minute Maid Light, and leftover chicken.
for dinner:
cottage cheese, spinach salad, and 6 triscuit crackers
I don't like to drink milk, so with my healthier eating habits, I'm trying to incorporate more light cottage cheese and yogurt to make up on the calcium end.
Catch you all later

Yesterday was a good day for me 1235 cals and all my water and green tea.
Today I had cereal for breakfast and managed to make myself do most of a 20 minute work out. I'll add another ten on later to make up for not finishing this one! Glad you are doing so well.

Ah shabz,
Glad to hear you are doing well. I didn't do so well today. Yesterday either. Motivation wise anyway. Yesterday I got stuff done. Today... I'm guessing around 1500, and I know I said I'm okay with 1500 on occassion, but man oh man. Today was just dumb. chocolate and wine put me over the top. You know the saddest part? I knew it would put me over and I did it anyway. I didn't do anywhere near my normal workout. the total for the day was 30 mins of cardio and 20 min of pilates. Not exactly record breaking. Keep up the good work!

Hey shabz,
Actually thought I did good through pms week (last week). I don't know what it is for sure this week. I think it's stress. I've always worked and gone to school. Now I'm not going to school and my "full time" job is taking forever to come together. They're talking about raising the rent, etc. My bf is super busy at work. So I'm just hanging out at home by myself a lot. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I can start work next week. Hopefully that will help.

| Glad you are sticking to your plan. Did some strength training type stuff this morning, but I blasted through cals at lunch. Turkey basil panini and a naked fruit smoothie. Sounds pretty healthy. I didn't even dare to count the cals once a realized how much delicious cheese was on the panini. I'm skipping pilates tonight. Scratchy throat and exhaustion... Maybe that's what my body has been trying to tell me. Are there calories in Airbourne?...

It's really funny because I'm eating more greens and working out more now than I ever have, and I rarely get sick. Skipping my workout this morning for multiple reasons.
1. Slept all morning
2. Still feel sick
3. My hot water heater went out and I have a doctors appt. in 2 hours. Great!
I'm going to go look for some soup to eat.

Congrats on the weight loss! 2 lbs is awesome! I'm feeling a little better. Thanks for asking. Still not clear, but much better. Got some good workout time in for today. I'm not doing very well on counting cals, but I do have to say that I am (for the most part) watching my portions. It's better than nothing. I'll do my weigh in on monday for the challenge, but I'm not expecting a loss this week. Mainly I'm just hoping I didn't gain!
I hope you get to feeling better. Rest days do the body good.

Hi shabz!
Sorry I went AWOL there. I've just been wiped. I've just started substitute teaching. So Sunday I went to bed as soon as I could and yesterday I was too beat to do any posting. Funny how fast we forget that something is exhausting. I've been doing pretty well at keeping my calories in check, or at least portion control. Sunday was a pot luck at church. How do you count calories there? So I just tried to make smart choices. Yesterday I had lots of cals left at the end of the day so I splurged on that milkshake I've been craving, but I was still in the calorie zone (about 1350). Today I'm just over 1200 and hungry again after work (the other job, not subbing). I have been getting 20 minutes of cardio in in the morning. Not high cardio tho. Still not feeling like I think I should, but maybe I'll try it in the morning. Yesterday's pilates was only 15 minutes. tonight only 30, but feel good about it anyway.
No where near 2 hours a day! I'll say that! Good for you! I would think that 1500 calories is good if you are working out that much!
Hope everything is going well

shabz you aren't the only one cheating. I've been terrible this week. Today was the worst. My bf took me out for lunch (chinese) and I'm not about to turn down a date. Then I had only 30 min off from work. MALL FOOD! . I am still overwhelmed at how icky I feel from eating that. I did get my full workout in today which is a first in probably 3-4 days. I've been really tired with the adjustments in my schedule. I need to take a look and maybe think about adding a few more cals to my diet. At least on days I'm substituting. I am so drained by the end of the day. Is it possible to burn more cals when you are emotionally on the spot like that, or is it just stress encouraging me to eat? At the very least I'm standing and walking around the room more. I'm not sure, just somehting I'm considering. Hope your routine is going better. Great job on the excercising!

wow chines, i love chines too n cant turn down as well,
well i must say keep it up u r doin very goeod, by being picky and keeping in mind that u have to decreased ur portion a bit, and hav healthy food,
n yes this is very very good if u r walking in the room or around, i found out a forum on net about walking 10,000 steps a day which is good for heart and consider as active life style, i was reading abt a women she works in an office and have peadometer on in her pocket when she is walking even in the office, she completes 10-000 steps a day ,, i was like wowwwwwwwww this is called real determination, group is joined by busy moms and working students and moms .
so this is really really great if u r walking even in ur room,
well yes if u feel drained grab an apple orange or grapes or some thing from fridge, u should, have healthy cals, today i was feeling so hungry i had 3 oranges can u belives
i found out best food for our wrinkle free or few wrinkle skin, which i would love to share with u....
ALOMONDS ( 23 alomonds a day atleast)
walnuts ( 11 or an ounce a day)
egg any form boiled omlete or any way
milk
fish
apple orange carrots, grapes, green tea, (green tea has falavonoids which helps collegen to hold more stable n b there for long time)
u can take almonds and walnuts in ur hand bag in a empty container (i will use centrum container )and can have during ur work in office
at home when u r hugnry and feel drained have orange apple or some baby caarrots which u will already stock in ur ref,
howz that,
well stress and emotional makes us eat more, but not let us burn more cals, but from my own personal experience and scientifically as well, they says, if u r stressed out and emotional go to gym,and try to work out, listen music , u will b fresh again and stressed harmones goes down and released stressfull impact on our brains,, i really do this alway coz its great way to chuck out stress,
take care keep smiling have lots of fruits

Thanks for the advice. funny about the fruit. I've been craving them a lot, so I guess I should indulge. Substituting tomorrow so that generally helps with the calories (assuming nothing too tasty is stashed in the lounge). I have to remember the excercise thing for stress too. If I'm mad or worried stress its not as hard. A little kickboxing can go a long way for multiple reasons. When I'm just feeling drowned. Then it's hard for me to motivate, so will be trying harder to remember. Enough about me. How are you doing? I know you have many classes. how on earth do you find time for them all? And your diet? Still sticking with the regiment. Let me know!

hmmmm, yah i have many classes onmy gym card, :)
i have time becuase i am not working now, i left my job, the reason is same i was not able to get time for my self for my work out for my health, and was eating like #%@&! and really had bad mode swings, effected my marriage life, that is why i thought to take a break, for few months and tries to be healthy coz i wana concevie , i wanna be a mother, but still ia m not able to get pregnant coz of my weiight which is i guess not too much for others but it is effecting me, my fat is around on my abs and thighs and buttsss... that is the reason i get time to go to gym dear,,, :)
i am not sticking to my diet now, my bars have finished long time back now i have this routine
break fast = protine shake, apple, boil egg
lunch = 3 brown bread, with fish/lentiles,grilled vegeies, depnds wat i have for the day, and yogurt , apple or banana, plus few alomonds
dinner, = same thing,
some times i snake too, like yesterday i had french fries after long time,, by the way , one piece of frie has 8 to 12 cals and i had may be 250 cals easily

Nice to hear you are working so hard to achieve your goals.
Don't I know it on the french fries. When I had Taco John's the other day, I went ahead and got the combo. Small of course. 440 cals in the little potato oles! Not happening again!
Since I am temporarily working two jobs (yeah, I'm a workoholic. It's gotta change.) I have decided to set my calorie goal at 1400-1500 cals on my 12 hour days. if I am just working one job that day. I'm going for the 1200. Sounds reasonable. I think.
Anyway, did the full workout today! We'll see if I can stick with it!
Hope you are doing well!

Hey shabz!
Sorry I've been absent. Don't know what got into me. I'm trying to refocus my efforts on counting calories and excercising. I haven't done pilates in 4 days. But I'm waiting to see if I'm better. Had an upset stomach yesterday. It didn't hit until 10:00 so going to wait on the cardio this morning. hopefully catch some excercise time later in the day.
Hope you are feeling better and doing well!

Hey shabz!
I know I've been terrible about keepin in touch. I've been exhausted, and didn't count calories almost all week. I have been losing weight, but I'm wondering if some of it is muscle loss since I haven't been doing my pilates. This morning I weighed in at 158. Don't know how that could have happened. I hope everything is going better. I'm sure you can lose some weight. Have you tried to do some zig zaggin? or green tea. I drink LOTS of green tea. I think it helps. Just an idea.Last edited on 24 February 2008 02:12 am by vgreet

glad u replied and u r losing weight thats really good, i guess now it has become a habbit to eat under 1300 to 1500 cals and ur brain knows how much u shouold eat so i guess without counting clas u r eating under ur cals range dear yesssss thats good, and plus u r working mentally which turns to physcal exhustions i know that,,,
wat is zig zagging? yes i drinks green tea, by the way i have orderd chines wooloong tea from their web site, its really good it gives me enegry to exercisereally , i feel better afteri drink it,
and i am going tto gym every day just not weekend, i am trying my level best but u know wat, i gained the same weight what i lost 2 weeks back............! and i askd a trainer in the gym, and when she checkd me on the machine she cmpared the results with last assesment on machine, and found out that i have gained muscle and lost some body fat like 3% but it has replaced with muscles so thats the weight of the muscles,,, so i gained all my weight back , and am at the same place BUT with better health, good shape now, coz i lost inches but not on scale, and feel happy less stressed, :) i eat healthy as well
oh yes,,, i am taking alomonds and walnuts with my break fast now ,
my break fast is
protein shake, plus alomonds (23) walnuts (10) and wooloong tea,
so i included those skin food for break fast so i get more energy to work out in the morniing,
rest of lunch and dinner is same,,, eat wheat bread, ,
just keep trying we dont have to lose hope, just think and tell me what do u feel now, in this almost whole month,, did u feel any difference,? did u feel u r happy less streesed, or lost some inches, or slee p\ better, or eating healhtym, or gainedmore knowledge,, any thing,,, leme know
i am feeling my life style is changing, and with exercise iam less stressed i feel happy, and relaxed all day after exercise,

| Glad you are gaining muscle. That's great! I kind of feel like I'm back sliding a little. But over all I'm pretty happy with results. I have lost some inches. Not a lot. But my jeans went from tight to loose. I can fit into my slacks better. Actually feeling healthier but more stressed. I'm working a lot of hours right now. TTOTM hit and I was munching and exhausted. I'm having a hard time working out and working a 12 hour day and applying for jobs!! I'm kind of just picking up from what I read on other threads, but as far as zigzagging... Take a couple days or a week and eat pizza or whatever you want. and then go back on your diet. I think it is supposed to speed up your metabolism. You might want to look into it if you think you have hit a plateau. I sort of unconciously do this, but I don't have a lot to back me up other than what I have read in diaries on this site.

Hey shabz!
I've been out for a while. Most recently with the flu. While it is effective, I wouldn't recommend it for weight loss. How are you doing?

well dear nice to hear from u, i have been at home only as i can not walk, doctor told me to rest for more 10 days , but he suggested me to not to walk or run any more on the tread mil, and should get some arch support, so i am only at home, but yes i did control myportions though i feel hungry at evenings so eating more ice cabbage so my weight is under control, and same as it,
i bought one kitchen scale as well to see da weight of my food, so like fish i am eating like 300 gms a day , and kidney baens like 200 gms at night , its fun , its the best way to control my portion i feel,
i am dying to go to gym and excersie my body is so used tothis, so all day i search and read fitness, nutritions, wellness weightloss articals online ;)
u take care
