Hello all,

Well, first off, I'm obviously looking for a diet buddy. I've lost 50 lbs so far, which I'm proud of, but the time of year, as well as the fact the more weight I lose, the harder it is to lose, and my will power keeps on getting put to the test. Which is normal I know, it's something I'll have to deal with for the rest of my life, but for now it's all about the weight loss.

I'm 23 years old. I haven't been able to finish college because I'm out of money, which is why I'm joining the navy. The navy will pay off my student loans as well as almost completely pay for the rest of my degree. But before all this can happen I've got to lose another 20-30 pounds to join and a total of 50 lbs before leaving for basic training. I've got a ways to go.

I live in Oregon, USA, and have for 99% of my life. It's an Awesome state to live in.

Thanx for reading,

Erin W.

Hey gamerchick! You sound alot like me!  I lost 50 pounds a few years ago by "dieting" and using a treadmill.  But I put back on 10 when my knees started hurting....So now I am stuck at 149.....I was 192 at my highest!  Yesterday I joined the YMCA and am starting today at noon....yay! I was bored exercising at home.  Anyhow, I am 34, married, and have 2 kids ages 14 and 12.  The 12 year old (a girl) could stand to lose about 20 pounds herself!  I just happen to live in a Navy town in Virginia.....What a great motivation to lose that last 20-30!  My husband was in the Navy, but is a plumber now....About to start his own company!  I'll be your buddy since we are in the same catagory of needing to lose 20-30 after losing 50....go figure!

If you two agree to work together, you can start out in the Diet Buddies forum. Or I can move this topic there and you can continue with it!

Hi Gamerchick! Glad to see you replied!  Just to check in, I went to the YMCA for the first time yesterday.  I think I am going to die!  I can hardly walk.  I may exercise here at home, but there are some things you just can't do at home.  The leg press killed me.  I did 35 minutes with a trainer on strength training in the afternoon and at 8:00 last night my whole family went!   I did 1.5 miles on the treadmill with my 12 year old girl on the one next to me....She is so excited to go to.  Who'd guess?!  I just got done cleaning a house (that's what I do) and I am soooo pooped!  I do feel like a cheated a little, I was so hungry after cleaning (I think it was from all of the extra exercise!) that I got a baked potato and grilled chicken (no mayo) from Wendy's.  Not too bad though.  Anyhow, how'd your workout go last night?  Time to go pick my kids up from school.....
