advice needed on exercise

hi to everyone i am new on this site and well need your help!!

I need to do more exercise, i have started walking three times a week and yesterday i shocked myself by going out on my mountain bike(which took an hour to remove cobwebs and inflate tyres).  Unfortunatly at the moment i cant afford to join a gym, i dont get fittv, can any one suggest some good exercise dvds ??? or can you suggest anything else for that matter all help is desperatly needed

Hey....way to go with the exercise. Walking is great if done briskly. Work yourself up to brisk(4 mph),one hour walks if possible. Also biking is a great calorie burner. The key is to do a variety of activities that interest you. Dvd's at home tend to cause boredom in some because you are not enjoying the outdoors. It's more like work. If you have fun you will tend to make exercise a lifelong thing. I think you are already on the right track.

Hi there.

It's great that you dusted off that old mountain bike. For me, cycling is the best way I've found of taking off and keeping off weight. I'm lucky, because I live in a bike friendly city and ride to and from work pretty much every day -- about 6 miles each way. If you're in a position to do that, or even use your bike for other transport, you'll be set.
