I'm so glad I found this site! I actually was reading all the articles first and then found they had a forum! The articles for the most part, seem very informative, much more so than I've seen elsewhere.
I'm here to lose some fat. I'm not necissarily overweight but my BMI is a little high and seems I've tried everything (NOT including the "fad" stuff).
I'm down to 1300 cal/day and have been debating elsewhere whether a calorie is a calorie, no matter where it comes from; eg, eating 300 calories of icecream is technically the same as eating 300 cal of, let's say, complex carbs. There is debate over whether the insulin spike caused by eating refined carbs really causes more of the cal to "stick" to you or not.
However, eating 300 cal of complex carbs is certainly better in a NUTRIOUS way.
Anyway, I've been exercising more, keeping a food diary, yet haven't really seen any change.
Favorite foods: mushroom pizza, ice cream, brownies! I do have a serious sweet tooth, unfortunatley!
