Hi!! My name is Amy, and I found this site as I was browsing the net one morning. I found it insightful and interesting, so I joined. I'm 25 (26 in June), run about 60-70 mi a week (hence the name Runner_Geek), and am looking to get in better shape and live a healthier lifestyle.
That's a little about me. xx

If you run that much, seems you are already in great shape! You can certainly learn a lot about eating a healthy diet to assist in all that running. I do a modified Eat to Live diet. I've learned I just seem to need more protein than Dr. F. recommends. I think his recommendation on eating more plants is definitely worthy of consideration. Also, I try to eat as many "superfoods" as possible to maximize nutrition. I can really tell a difference in my health plus I'm losing weight.
Good Luck!

Well... I eat a lot of veggies, fiber, & some lean protein. I'm trying to eat less processed foods and more whole grains. B/c I run, my diet is about 70% carbs. I'm trying to quit drinking (my last drink was 1 am Friday), which over the past year, has taken over a large portion of my calories. I've gone thru a few medical detoxes, but I seem to have not really wanted to quit. I really want to now, so I can get back into racing shape. I hope to reach my goals in a few months and make new friends.

| Good deal on the quitting drinking. Have you tried AA? The sun, smoking, and drinking are horrible agers. When you get 50, you don't want to look like a dried up prune. I am a black belt Alanon and I've seen too many wonderful people I've loved dearly die of alcoholism. It will kill your health and ruin your life, quickly.

Welcome!
I saw your username when I entered you in my weight loss challenge. I see you want to lose 10 pounds.
Do you have any idea what your body fat percentage is? Mine was 10% when I was running, 17% now and I want to get it down at least a few more percent.
Course I was in my 20s then; 60s now!

Hi,
I'm a new member too. You sound like you are in great shape with the running. Good job!
I noticed you entered the weight loss challenge and your goal is to get to 90 lbs. I'm certainly not an expert or anything but are you sure that is a healthy weight to be at? It might be normal for your body size so I don't know, I just wanted to make sure you are being healthy!
Good luck and best wishes!

My body fat percentage is about 12% now. In college it was below 10%, and in high school, it was about 7%. But I worked hard to get it up b/c having it below 10% isn't healthy.
