Hi everyone,
I am new to the site, my first day and my first post. I am a 33 year old professional female. I am 5 feet even and weight 197 lbs. I have been working out for 4 weeks tomorrow. I am feeling great from the workouts, but have not noticed any weight changes.
I started out with a hr of 198 for 10 minutes on the elliptical machine and around 188 for 30 minutes on the treadmill. Now I am at 160 on the elliptical machine and 150 on the treadmill but I moved up to 70 minutes on the treadmill at 3.0 mph.
I could not have imagined going one mile when I started now, I am at 3.5 + per day. I have more energy, but I have been a bit discouraged that I have not noticed the difference that everyone talks about in the first few weeks.
A lot of my friends said that since I weight so much, that I would have a drastic initial weight loss if I followed my trainers suggestions. So far, I am sticking to the diet and fitness plan, with only endurance and cardio increases, no weight loss or loose clothes.
I look forward to meeting all of you.
thanks for the great site.

Welcome!
I think we have about 8 horse lovers now and I keep suggesting you all start an Off Topic to share about your horses! Or revive the old one.
Most people lose weight real quick at the outset because their gimmicky fad diets are designed for it so they sell! But the don't work long term. So don't be discouraged and hang in there.
Also lease be sure to read the instructions for this forum which will point out some of the important features of the forums and website that you won't want to miss.

Welcome! Don't be discouraged because of the lack of weight loss. I'm also 5 foot even and it takes me a lot longer to lose weight. It seems for every 5 lbs. they lose, I'll lose 1 lb. But, it does slowly come off if you stick to a good plan which definitely should include exercise of any sort. For me, I love to fast walk with my iPod for an hour on my favorite walking trail. I also try not to eat past 5 p.m. although I've been slacking and it shows. So, Let' s do this! I need to about 35 lbs.
