Hi mumof4!  I am new here too, so I don't have the wisdom of the others that have been here awhile.  I have my own ideas about this though, since I too have a lot of weight to lose.  I set an amount that I want to lose each month.  Then, using this site, I found out how many calories that I need to drop from my diet per day in order to lose that amount.  My goal is 10lbs a month.  I feel that that is a reasonable amount to lose, and the calories allowed each day is more than enough to get all the nutrients that I need.  I know you have some weight to lose before your wedding, but I hope that it is not the entire 9½ stone!  However in 5 months, you should be able to lose a noticeable amount of weight safely.  Please do it safely!  So many people starve themselves and then put back the weight they lost and then some.  I know it is difficult.  Especially with 4 kids!  Kids, however, can be a great resource for reminders though.  If you tell them to remind you to be healthy, they will do it!  If you can cook, then you can be healthy.  It is much harder than sticking a pizza in the oven, but soon you will feel so good that  you will be charged with energy to do it!  Please don't give up...you have a great new source of ideas and support now that you have joined this forum.  Keep talking to us, and you will never be let down.  Good luck to you, and keep us informed of your progress!
