friday i went to the state fair with my mom and dad, walked the fair for 3 solid hours. Came home, got mj, they came to get her, she went to their place for the weekend. Saturday, D and I went out for breakfast, kid free is always fun, and we walked at the river for 40min, then came home and walked D and Z for 40min at least then watched movies the rest of the day.

Friday: 200 min cardio no strength.
Saturday: 80min cardio U and C.

Today, going to get a workout in, prob a video. Will update. MJ coming home today, going to make a cake for my dads birthday and we may have a small cookout of steak and corn. Not sure yet.

SUNDAY REST DAY. LAZY BUMM DAY.

Well team, I'm afraid our exercise thread is slowly dying.   Maybe we should give it a rest for awhile and see what happens.  Let me know if you want to crank things up again.

hey nance,

sorry i havent been around for a few days. i learned on friday that i have 2 fractured ribs and i need to be resting. it was an old injury, i somehow hurt the healing by coughing of all things and have a hard time doing just about anything these days! :( i am sad to learn this but i am happy to learn this as well. i just have to take a break for a while. the best i can figure is i injured myself when i got tossed off of bob a few months back.

i am doing things slowly, no walking high intensity or bowflex or much of anything for me for a few weeks, so timing on the cool off period on exercise thread is perfect for me. less guilt for not getting my workouts in! lol....

i hope all is well, and dont stop working out! today i managed to get out and scoop the poo, took me a long time but hey its better than sitting around doing nothing!!! baby steps.

take care :)

Hey BJ!  Glad your ribs are on the mend and you're feeling well enough to start exercising again.

Lately I've been working on my front porch, so formal exercise has fallen by the wayside, especially cardio.  It started out just to repair the railings which the carpenter bees have made Swiss cheese of. Then one thing led to another. Now I've decided to screen it in.   The hard part will be the door.

Don't know if I can do that.  Maybe I'll just not have a front door. That would keep salesmen away, wouldn't it?

you can do anything you put your thoughts too Nance! i love that you do the "tough guy work" around the house like me! :) If i were there i would help you for sure!! :) I love that stuff!

i would screen in for sure, and to complete the doorway, or screen the door may be a challenge, but hey that is what the pros at home depot are for right? id go and ask for some guidance and close it completely, think how nice that would be when the summer bugs come out? Id love to enclose our back yard porch, but we cant afford the overhaul now.

i ended up eating like a horse yesterday, clearing out the peanuty candy from halloween...lol.....once its gone the temptations will be gone.......and mj is back to being a good girl today, so pray she stays on track so i can stop being so stressed and worried!....i actually did a legs mile before dinnertime last nite, so that is a total of 3 miles for my wednesday. good for me, but with all the intake calories wise, i know better than to think i did much good! lol...

im gonna keep posting, and its nice to hear from you!!! :)

have a great day!!!

friday errands to abq, busy day, got to vacuum. lol

saturday move and stack woodpile in front for 50 min, then i vacummed out the suburban, watered the front and orchard by hand, then vacuumed and moved the living room furnature around.

sunday stacked two truck loads of firewood for an hour, moved a table and plants from hot tub room to living room.

monday watered front again partially by hand for 30min, stopped at the grocery store for a few things, had an argument over halloween mishapps with my father and basically havent had the best day. havent eaten anything, just weighed in, will workout and eat good. :)

all last week D was sick, so my workouts were taking care of him! lol....saturday I got sick too! I was down and out up till today. I raked the back yard for 20min, then i moved around MJ's play toys and raked some more there. I vacuumed the floors, and rearranged some furnature in the living room today.

i am taking the Zpak to get better, ugh i felt like ca-ca the last few days. makes me see how healthy i am all the other days!! lol...

weight is back up to 163, but i havent been eating normal, drinking lots of boullion soup which is salty and not doing much of anything.

too boot, i fell over dartagnon in the living room in the dark, he jumped up as i was stepping over him and i took a hard fall into a stool and a table...bruised up  my right side all over again....oi....im a walking accident! lol

Thought I'd report in, because I finally got to moving after the cold snap and have something to report.

December 22nd
Planted 14 shrubs on one side of back yard: 2 hours

December 23rd
Planted 12 shrubs on other side front yard: 2.5 hours

December 24th
Cleared out old privet hedge in prep for planting the remaining 22 shrubs. Loaded limbs and leaves onto the truck. 3.5 hours.

These are the 48 plants that I started from cuttings last winter.

 Euonymus Zaponica - Green Spire?

Mine are not this big yet.  They are getting root bound already. Got to get them planted.

Hope everyone has a Merry Christmas!

I am definitely interested....it helps keep me motivated. Something I have been lacking in big time. I went snow shoeing yesterday, the first time in a month that I have done anyting.

If others are interested I will be back after the first to enter the challenge.

No grangers, no more details than just what is written on the first page of this thread.

I'm open to suggestions, though.

I have been lurking and waiting for a new challenge to start up so that I could join in & start fresh and at the same time as others.  I don't like jumping in on other people's challenges when it's been going on for a long time and I think other lurkers may feel the same way.  There will also probably be a fresh influx of other new people to the forum in the next few weeks that are looking for the same thing.

I kinda like the idea of a challenge to a certain goal- body fat% lost or weight lost, or better yet, total inches lost since it would be an exercise thread.  The winner could get a cool distinguishing title under their user name.  For example instead of Bamagirly and "New Member"  it could say Bamagirly and "New Year Challenge Winner" or something to that effect.

I'd just really prefer it to be a fresh new thread.  Any other ideas?

Yes I think we probably should start a new thread. Whatever we do I think it should be on a weekly basis, and inches and body fat wouldn't change in just one week.

I think the goals should be on an individual basis (i.e., everyone sets their own goals).  Unless the goals are in terms of the 4 parameters: days of U,C,L, and minutes and/or days of Cardio, I probably can't program it into the chart.  From previous comments it appears the chart is a good motivator.  The width has to fit in the standard width of a thread cause I hate scrolling back and forth.

I'll see if I can come up with something today, to begin tomorrow.
