I would like to join! Thanks Crimson for running the challenge.
Start Weight - 158
Goal Weight - 149 (want to leave the 150s!)
Weigh in day - Monday
I really want to start weight lifting more this fall...it's been getting increasingly hard for me to do the lifting and stuff that I have to do periodically for my research (animal science grad student - pigs are heavy, and so is their feed ) Hopefully I'll accomplish fitness and some weight loss at the same time!

Ok, I am reporting in a little early. My weigh in this morning was 123lbs. Not great, but not bad.
I will report again tomorrow if it is better, but I don't see that happening since I wasn't very good yesterday.

My weigh ins are on Thursdays (I forgot to add that in my last post); today's weight is 175. That's 1lb this week, next week's goal is 2lbs more (I should probably say 2lbs less ).

I am going to have to change my starting weight and goals if that is ok?
I thought I would be at 152 for the start of the challenge but I was suck at 155 for 3-4 days so that is going to have to be my starting weight. I am going to change my goal weight too as I was geared up to lose 2lbs per week and I just don't think that is realistic for me. So here are my new stats.
Starting weight: 155lbs
Goal weight: 140lbs
I will post my first weeks weigh in tomorrow. I am hoping to for around 153lbs.
Thanks

Hello Guys, I am new to this forum. Just joined now. I need advice on how to lose weight. The links posted by CrimsonAnimus is not working.
Also, I am facing 1 more problem. Whenever I plan to lose weight and start exercising, I get discouraged very soon. All the routine i chalk out, continues for just 2-3 days and after that i am back to my old eat-junk-food routine. If anyone here experianced something like this then please let me know on how to avoid getting discouraged.
Anyways, I too want to participate in this challenge.
Starting Weight: 95Kg (209 Lbs)
Goal Weight: 90Kg (198 Lbs)

Anand- I'd say joining this challenge is a great start to keeping your determination up.
I think most everyone on here has had that same issue- start out all gung-ho, then completely off the wagon by the end of the week. It will come to you eventually. When you want to eat junk, just remind yourself how great you'll feel and how thankful you'll be the next day that you didn't. Each day gets easier, just do it for yourself.

| OK OK OK OK, I am being a chicken poop, Saturdays would be my weigh in, however, seeing that this campaign ends on Wednesday, I am gonna go that route. And it plays in my favour, to try and get off this binge I seem to be on. I hate it. Yet it's like I cant stop, even though I am completelhy aware.

Onceupon, you go girl! Congratualtions.
Andan, I'm with you, it's easy to start of so motivated and then it becomes hard to stick with it. For me the only thing that works is sheer stubborness, it tell myself I will do this for 10 days, no matter what. For me that 10 days seems to be the tricky, at that point I see some (small) results but at least it keeps me motivated. Like StuckSarah, I find week ends hard but I make my weigh in on Tuesdays and that seems to help, I know I can't fix a entire bad week end in one day so it keeps me a little more on track. Also Cportwine has a week end challenge I find helps me too. I sure don't have all the answers and I have fallen many many times but maybe one of these suggestions will help.

Ok, going to have to keep this weigh in. Due to problems on the home front, I didn't get to weigh in this morning. So, put me down for yesterdays weigh in...

Well, for me, I just realized that our family will always have unheathy foods. So Instead of eating them now, I get motivated by thinking of how they will still be there when I'm at my challenge. Cheat a few times (like one unheathy snack ONCE IN A WHILE!). The cheating will help you with staying on track. Just don't let the cheating get too far.
Also, make a diary. Record everything you eat, what you do for exercise, or just whatever in general. I thought the diary was kinda stupid at first, but it really helps. When you accomplish something, people support you. So every time you put down a chip and pick up a grape, the comments people leave really make you feel like you did accomplish something, rather than follow routine.
And welcome to !!

My new goal weight is 144 by 12/31/08 so thats 10 pounds a month-we shall see.

Hey guys...hope everyone had a great week!
This week: -3 for a weight of 185.5!!!!!
Grand total of 40 lbs since 7 Jul!
Anand, just walk...walk, walk, walk, every day; no excuses. That was key for me when I started, I didn't get all crazy and I knew it was a long journey.
Also, the challenges and diaries are great. And plan for treats within your weekly diet...that way you're not "cheating" and you still get to satisfy your cravings!
Keep on truckin', everyone! Proudly serving, TC

| I meant to do this on Friday, but didn't have time due to the fact that I was going to the last home football as a Gamecock. That sucks to say. I geuss I have to grow up at some point. Anyway, I have one of the most impressive weight losses over a week ever. 260.4 Yep thats a weight loss of .2 pounds. Get over it.

This isn't an official weigh in, but this morning I was down to 174. I figured I should check in here and report it; now I can't go back up at all. I swear, I've been gaining and losing the same 5-6lbs for the past 2 months! I will hit 169 by the end of this month, and I will never look back! (Hopefully)

Hi guys, sounds like there is a lot of success going on here. I am so glad we have this community to support each other.
TC, great weight loss. I agree with you, the only way to get to the finish line is to put one foot in front of the other. I look at weight loss as a marathon, not a sprint.
Lucy, sorry to hear you are having a lot of stress in your life right now. I think you are doing the right thing to just ease up a little on your goal. Sometimes we need to take a breather and I think you are going at it the right way. You are still moving forward just at a little slower pace which I think is great. It is so easy to give up when we can't do it exactly the way we want but you have made a great choice to go at a difference pace for awhile which I think is fantastic. Good luck and I hope things calm down for you soon.

Go figure...I diet like crazy to lose two pounds per week, and lose nothing. Now I decide to try to just lose one pound per week...and I lose three. I don't understand my bod At least it's doing good inexplicable things.
