Ok, I am starting this challenge cause it seems allot of us on here are struggling with the temptations of the weekends. I know, I sure have lately.

So, this challenge is for Friday nights- Sunday nights.... Depending on your calorie intake. What you are suppose to be eating. Just state at the top of your post (on Monday) weather you have been good or bad on those days and if you are bad, you must list what you have ate and reason for doing so.

Ok, let me clarify a little bit. Bad- means you went over in your calories for the day. Good- means you stay with in your calorie range.

If you are good on those days. I would like it, if you shared how you resisted the temptation.

So, who is up for this? I challenge you all to be good, and not pig out on the weekends.

Lets see who can pull it off......

I'll start it off with my bad weekend....

Ok, It's Monday and I was BAD!

Ok, I had a candy bar, some chips, cake, ice cream, and some ribs. :chewing:

I really have no excuse for the candy bar, it was a spur of the moment thing, and I didn't really need it. Just wasted calories, as far as I am concerned.

I feel the same way about the chips- just plain flat out lost of will power.

The cake, ice cream, and ribs, were all part of my husbands b-day meal. So, I suppose I could of skip the ice cream, and went light on the other stuff, but didn't.

So, no one to blame but myself.... :nono:

Hoping with this challenge I can resist the temptations facing me next weekend....

This is a very good idea- I know that I tend to eat my weight in food some weekends! ^_^; Thank you for coming up with this!

All right, well, it's Monday, but, since we're on a four day long Fall Break at my school, it's still the weekend for me. ^_^; However, so far this weekend I've been...eh, so-so. On Friday I had Wendy's, which isn't good because it's fast food, but it was only a medium frosty and small fries (this is the evening, mind you...I just had some Cafeteria food for lunch).

On Saturday I had McDonalds, but I walked all the way across town to get it! No excuses, of course, and I did feel bad afterwards, but...meh. Saturday evening, I had a bowl of Ramen, a lot of cheese, and a LOT of crackers (I feel like a true college student, now...XD).

On Sunday, I slept in really late (which is horrible, because I hate missing church, but I digress). As a result, I was only up and about for one meal (since I try not to eat after 7:00 or 8:00 at night), and I had a bowl of Ramen and a bag of popcorn. However, I later jogged for an hour, and rode the bike a little.

All in all, I did better on exercise, but worse on food. Hopefully, I'll do better next weekend! ^_^;

Okay, I didn't actually go over my calorie limit but I still consider my weekend bad because I had some fried chicken and some potatoe and macaroni salad.  The salad isn't so bad but I've been really trying to stay away from the fried stuff.

My goal is to stick to 1300-1500 calories on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Thanks for staring this challenge Cport. I hope it helps

I hope it helps me get through this weekend of Halloween stuff. I know my mom will have her pumpkin bars there. :yum: And then we have a chili dinner to go to. AGGHH! god help me.

I really think I will be good with the sweats this weekend since I already have done myself in this week with the cookies and all. I get rid of those tonight, yeah! Tired of trying to resist them.

So, I just got to behave with the chili.

Ok, I would have to say I had a Good weekend. I stayed within my calorie range. I had 1400 calories on friday, around 1200 calories on sat and sun. My food choices weren't all that great, cause we were visiting my mother. But, I didn't eat allot, so that is what saved me.

Next weekend, I hope to shoot for better food choices.

Well it was the first week of the challenge and I failed miserably

I was bad again on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. I weighed myself this morning and the scale showed 160lbs. My Monday morning weight is always a tell tale sign of how bad I have been. At least 4-5lbs will come off by tomorrow of Wednesday (which indicates that it is mostly water weight).

I'll try harder next weekend.

Well, I am changing mine to BAD!!!!!

Because my scale said 127lb, this morning. So, something didn't go right this weekend. I am thinking it was friday. I must of missed something if my scale went up like that.

So, back on track today. Going to try real hard not to let this get me in the dumps.... Next weekend, I plan on being so good, it might even be scary....and since it's Halloween. I won't be able to have any of those little sweet treats...

I am determined to prove to myself that I can behave over the weekends. God, there was a time that I always did good on the weekends. Not sure when that all changed, but I really want to get it back...

I know you can do it and so can I. I am thinking that I need to start planning my weekend food so I have something to stick to. I always go in blind not planning on what I am going to eat and when and I think that is what gets me.

If anyone has any tips on how they stay on track over the weekends please post.

I am finding that I am losing weight over all but it seems like its 5 steps forward and 3 steps back every week. I would really like to keep going in a forward motion if you know what I mean. This weekend eating habit can't be good for my health  (feeling a little low this morning)

OK, I just read this challenge and I am in... Weekends usually kill me because I set up my official weigh in on Monday am first thing.  I will be much better next weekend cause of this challenge but here was my wekend...

Friday night had a turkey and ham sub on wheat (not too bad), Saturday good breakfast and lunch...for supper ,,, OMG..I ate 20 hot wings at Hooters , LMAO...I got caught ...worst meal I have had in  a while but no fries and only a little ranch. I also drank 3 bud lights (at a concert so I get a little slack)...

Sunday -breakfast was good and lunch was a chicken sand on wheat with veggie chips and then went to my parent's house for dinner with the wife and kids...Sunday night family dinner can be a real down fall. Had 4 pieces of meatloaf and mashed taters, corn and cesaers salad.  The meatloaf was made with lean meat and no butter on the taters (Mom is trying to help me a little )...The good news was I walked for 65 minutes Sunday afternoon and managed a 1.5 lb loss for the week.  So I am happy :grin::grin:

If it's okay, I would like to join this challenge too. After how far I fell this week end, I can use the challenge to get me through next week end.

For me planning the week end is not really possible, we always seem to be out and about doing something but I always keep some of those individual packets of fat free salad dressing in my car so at least I can opt for a salad with a piece of chicken and still stay on track. I find the biggest mistake is allowing myself 1 drink, every time I do that I find I end up eating something I later wished I hadn't. I must just be such a light weight one drink lowers my resolve :dizzy:.

I would also like to join this forum.

My weekends are terrible. I have plenty resistence through the week but weekends goes out the door. I usually stray from my diet.

I will try to commit to this challenge this weekend.

Nope, just friday night until sunday night, you have to not go over your calorie intake for the days. Or whatever you consider to be bad. You have to be good and not pig out on the weekends. Report in on Monday and tell us how you did.

Just a way of being held accountable for what you have eaten over the weekend.

Ok, I say I had a really good weekend. I had low calories on all three days. I didn't have the best food choices on sunday, but still it was low cal.

So, I was proud of myself.

I didn't resist the chocolate all weekend. I ended up having a total of four sun size snickers and two mini milk dudds. Those were on friday night and sunday. I didn't have any bad stuff on sat.

We didn't go anywhere this weekend, so that made it a little easier to stay on track. We'll see how the rest of the week goes.

The week end went well, for some reason around me kids seem to love Skittles and Starburst ( I think we have weird kids)anyway those are two things that are not tempting to me at all so Halloween wasn't really hard.

Friday I was under 100 calories and Saturday under 200, unfortunately Sunday i went over 400 but at least on Saturday and Sunday I got a 5 mile walk in each day so all in all I am okay with the way it went.

Darn that Edy's apple pie ice cream !

This week end challenge is a great idea, it helped me keep my calorie intake in mind.

Only four fun sized snickers, you showed great restraint, you should be proud. Congratulations Cport (hope it's okay that I shortened your name?)

Allright...I was pretty good. I had only had 3 fun size treats (Twix, snickers, and special dark mini) so that was pretty good.  I had a few too many cals on Sunday due to mom's cooking but not too bad and it was healthy.  This challenge was a great idea Cindy...two or three times I was going for the candy and stopped cause I didn't want to write it down in here :grin::grin: ...Coach K

Congrats everyone. My weekend was not so good. I got into the Halloween candy

Friday was excellent but I went down hill on Saturday and Sunday. I learnt my lesson though. I cracked on of my molars in half eating a jawbreaker candy. I totally deserve it.

Sorry to hear about your bad weekend, and the tooth, that sucks! That's like adding insult to injury - or something like that, lol.

Anyway, I hope next weekend is better for you... Keep trying, maybe next weekend you can get two goods days in.

Thanks. Well maybe the tooth will help me cut down on what I am eating. According to my dentist I should only be eating soft foods now (no candies).

Maybe this was a blessing in disguise.

Anybody got a plan of attack for this weekend yet?

I think I am going to plan out what I will eat and stick to it. I know friday night will be bad, cause we are going out to eat.

But, if I remember right, the place we go has a great taco salad. Also, I am going to try really hard not to snack at the movies.

So, that's my plan.

What is everyone else aiming for?

I am going to try and go sugar free which will be hard.  I want to "save" my calories for Thanksgiving and my son's first birthday.   Now that I have written that down it seems dumb.  I already set myself up for failure b/c as soon as I tell myself no I go and immediately find the forbidden food and scarf it.  I have never had much self restraint or impulse control (in any area of my life).  Hmmmm....what to do.  I definitely want a plan for the weekend.  I guess I will have to think on it.

You know that is a good plan, maybe just back it up a little with some extra sugar free snacks and stuff like that.

But, if you think that will set you up for failure, then maybe something else would be better.

Like yesterday, I was craving chocolate, and the only thing I had in the house was ice cream. So, I went to the store last night, had every intention on getting some chocolate chips to make something. But, then I changed my mind and went for the low fat pudding snacks. Did the trick, no more cravings and less calories then cookies.

So when there is a will, there is a way...

I am just aiming to eat well on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

I need to try something else. Last weekend I planned all of my meals but still ended up going way off so I need to try something different. Any suggestions?

My problem is that I get bored on the weekend. When I am bored I eat. One of the worst times for me is when I get to my mom place (we go shopping together on Saturday's) and I have to sit around waiting for her to get ready to go. I end up snacking on all of her food.

Then we usually go out to Starbucks for a coffee and a treat. We also watch a lot of movies on the weekends and I tend to snack while I am watching a movie. I guess they are all just habits I need to get out of.

Yea, replace them with good habits.

Have you tried a hobby! I know sounds stupid, but sometimes that works or even just a project. Something to keep you busy when you have time, but keeps your mind thinking about it when you don't have time to spend on it.

Being bored is a huge problem for me. With the kids during the day, it's hard sometimes to do anything else when there here. But, I eat if I sit here and do nothing. We do stuff, but not every minute, so there is alot of me standing around just looking stupid, lol. Thank god for computers!

That is usually why weekends are better for me, to much to do. But, when we go places or are around other people it all goes out the window.

Ok, the challenge will be starting at supper time tonight. So, get ready everyone! We can do this thing and have a great weekend.

Myself- anniversary today, so I am going to give myself a break and have a nice meal with my husband. But, in order to do that, I am going to try and save up some calories today. So, hopefully it won't be to bad. I also plan on getting back on track first thing after the special meal.

So, today will be a challenge, cause I want to make my husband a big cookie or something and that means staying out of the dough while making it. That will be a hard one for me. Not to worried about it after it's done, since it will be for him, I can't hardly eat it.

So wish me luck.......

I have a friend who started knitting in the evenings.  She says that has helped her with the snacking.

So, I always crave a good meal on Friday nights.  I think Friday dinner will be my "cheat meal" and then this weekend (Sat and Sun) I will 1) stay within my calorie limit and then 2) try not to eat sweets even if I can fit it into my limit for the day.  I just discovered that if you cook Morningstar veggie patties until they are crisp they taste good, so I will try to have those for lunch and incorporate more veggies and fruit (esp. fruit at night when I crave sweets).  I am also going to get some gum.  Sometimes I am bored and just want to CHEW something (like a cow, I need to chew my cud!) and that's where the gum comes in.

Cportwine - I am a big, huge cookie dough eater.  I think it tastes ten times better than the finished product.  Same thing goes for cake batter:grin:  That's why I just had to stop baking. (Haven't lost any dang weight b/c of that sacrifice, though)  My husband likes chocolate chip cookies every night and now has settled for the Nestle cookie tubes.  I have to say Nestle has improved its product.  Those cookies are much better than they used to be!

Funny you should say that, cause I when I chew gum, I chew it like a cow. You can ask anyone in my family, they all hate it when I am chomping on it. lol

LOL, even my dog goes nuts and starts barking at me, it so funny.

Now I don't chew it in public cause of that reason.

I DID IT!!!  I  made it through Sat and Sun without having any candy/sweets:)  I also stayed within my calorie limit and ate more fruits and veggies.  I was totally motivated by this crazy dream I had about an ex-boyfriend from high school and then another dream about a guy friend from my old job:cool:  I hope I have some interesting dreams next weekend, they sure helped steel my resolve!!!!

On a less upbeat note, I don't think I will see any weight loss this week.  I don't know why I haven't been losing any weight, even though I am working out and eating better (not eating great, not eating horribly).  Its very, very, very frustrating...

Ok, well friday was bad.....but sat and sunday went good. Not the best food choices, but I stayed within my calorie range.

So, I am happy with that.
