I had the best weekend I have had in a LONG time. Everything I ate was healthy with the exception of some chocolate mints on Saturday night (they were an early Christmas present from my boss)
I did a 12km run on Saturday and a 10km run on Sunday. I don't know where my calories were because I have stopped counting and started to focus on just eating healthy for a while.
I planned out all my meals over the weekend and stuck to them. I am really proud of myself. For now I am just maintaining my weight until I can get my eating habits under control and then I'll start to decrease the amount a little bit at a time so I won't notice it.
  Way to go everyone!!!!

I can't believe no one has posted for this weekend yet. Do you all have a plan? I already blew it for today.
But, I have got to get back on track, starting this weekend. So, you all need to give me ideas on how to pull this off.
I need someone on here to go through a tough weekend with me. So, let's get started....
The weekend is just beginning!!!!

Hi Cport, I'm here. I have a busy week-end so I'm not sure how much I will post but I am going to try and stick. Friday started off okay, I got my walk in and my calories were under 1300. I even had two sugar cookies and hot chocolate while we were trimming the tree. I just called it supper and it worked out just fine . I am off for a 5-8 mile walk depending what the group is up for, it's still in the 20's this morning so I'm sure some of them will be voting for a walk on the shorter side. Not me....I love the cold, hate the wind but love the cold so days like today...sunny, no wind and cold are my kind of days.
Good luck all you fellow week end challengers or should I say weekend warriors. Together we can do this.

A walk sounds nice. It's not to terrible here as far as temperatures go and I haven't' been down to the river since it snowed. So, I think I might do a walk today also.
Thanks for the idea and Good Luck this weekend, Hiker.

Hope everyone had a good weekend, if not food wise at least fun wise . I did okay, not great but OK. I stayed on track Friday and Saturday but Sunday there was a family birithday party and I went a little over on my calories, not too bad though, just a couple hundred. I could do soooo much worse . I got a 6 mile walk in on Saturday but that about it for excercise.
Cport, did you get down to the river for that walk? I used to work for a company in Steven Point, WI so I got to see that part of WI, it is a beautiful state several times.

No, by time I got up saturday, the temps. were dropping outside and it was getting breezy. So, I hit the basement for my work outs. I'll get a walk in outside on one of the nicer days.
I did really good this weekend. Had two low calorie days, and had nice work outs on sat and sunday. Friday was my only bad day.
Yeah, another weekend done. Now if I can do the same this week...

I know what you mean about the temps, it's in the teens here and very windy...they said with the windchill it's 15 below....my dogs are getting a very short walk today....like maybe around the back yard .

It's so crazy here at times. When I was up around 6am sat. it was 27degree out, then I went back to bed for awhile and then around 10am or so it was in the teens. Kind of bummed me out. Should of stayed up and went for my walk. Now I will have to wait.
Big snow storm coming in tonight. 6-12 inches. Oh, it's going to be a long winter...

Hi Everyone! I'm glad to be back - I was gone for a few weeks:) I started the South Beach Diet about two weeks ago and was very faithful for about 12 days ---- and I lost 3 lbs!!!! The scale finally moved I did fall of the wagon this Friday/Saturday, though. Today I pulled it back together (with the exception of some ice cream in the afternnoon). I hope everyone else is doing well this weekend!!!

Wow, I kind of dropped the ball on this challenge. But, I can report that this weekend has been ok.
Let's see friday, I didn't eat terrible not the best and didn't exercise. So, it was a bad day. The thing is that I weigh in on friday for the holiday challenge, so after that I kind of over do it.
Sat. was a good day. I kept my calories low cause I knew we were going out. I did eat some of the stuff, but not allot. I did however drink. So, I don't know, it's an iffy day.
Today, was great.... I didn't exercise though, but I have my calories low. I would say today was a good day.
I hope everyone else did good this weekend.
And welcome back!!!! Curves ahead!!!

Hi fellow weekenders. We had no power or heat from Thursday night until Sunday night so the weekend was eat what can be found. I have no idea what I ate calorie wise but I had a small loss for the week so I guess it wasn't too bad. Now next weekend my family does thier Christmas....I can tell you right now it will not be pretty but I will report on next Monday.

Wow, that long without power. I hope that doesn't happen here, we would freeze to death.
Glad you had a lost this week, maybe that will help going into a Christmas weekend. Have fun and enjoy the family, you can get back on track next week...
I got to say, since we haven't been doing much on the weekends, mine haven't been to bad... Hoping that will last through Christmas...

| Believe me it was freezing...this frozen heating unit when the power came back on. I probably lost weight shivering, it go down to 40 degrees inside the house, outside 40 isn't too bad, inside sitting around...even with our layers and layers on...it's cold. Oh well, we really are fortunate compared to some, there are areas they are saying no power until next Saturday! We live, we learn....we will purchase a generator ASAP!

Hi all,
Sorry I haven't posted in a while. My weekends have been ok (I think I missed posting for 2 weekends )
My weight has stayed stable around 155-157 but I still need to get off my lazy hiney and do something.
The temperature up here has been -42 with the windchill. For all you US folk -42C is -42F. There has been a windchill warning, skin will freeze in under 5 minutes so needless to say I have not been out running the last few days. Which means I need to be even more careful about what I eat.

Boy, you guys are making me feel like I live in the tropics here in Massachusetts . Actually I love winter, at least here....now -42...That's another story. To me perfect is 20 degrees and sunny, on those days, especially if there is snow on the ground I am in heaven, poerfrect snow shoe weather.

My weekend was BAD
Ate cookies, drank Michelob Ultra beers, ate cookies, lounged around watching old shows we never get caught up on.
Monday was better but still cookies...cookies cookies.....everywhere cookies...that is the worst of what i ate.

| I'm heading home for the holidays. I'm definitely going to have to watch what I put in my mouth! The plan is to be good today - yogurt and salads and grilled chicken. I'll have to do the same tomorrow (but I am planning on having a Milky Way hot chocolate from Dunkin' Donuts since the only place I can get it is at the airport :)). Then Sunday is a family Christmas party... I'm going to try and stick to the veggie platter but I'm not very good at denying myself....

Good Luck with your Christmas eating, Curves Ahead....
Ok, well starting tonight at supper time, we all have to watch what we are eating. Let's make this an outstanding weekend and have all good reports on Monday...
For myself- I have had a couple of hard days lately, so I am starting my weekend right now. I started off breakfast with a healthy choice, and I want to continue that through the weekend... So wish me luck, cause I am going to need it...

Curves, you must not live in New England...we have a Dunkin on every corner. Of course I'm a Starbucks fan and there are not too many of those.
This weekend is going to be a challenge as is next so I just plan to do the best I can and every good decision I make it one better than just letting it all go.
Good luck everyone and Happy Holidays.

Well, we are into the full blown weekend challenge! I haven't had supper yet. Not sure what we are doing for that yet. Let's hope I keep up with what I have been doing so far today.
I have been rather good and proud of myself today. I had the healthy breakfast burritos this morning, had a good snack and a very healthy lunch. So, for me...
Hope you all do well this weekend!

He Cport, I saw your entry on the Holiday Challenge....great job.
OK, I am here to confess, yesterday we had my family Christmas and I ate everything, I had bacon for the first time in like a year....it was really good and we also had some chocolate dipped cream puffs form a new bakery....yup to die for. Oh well I am going to try and be good from now until Christmas day but with those left over pastries around it won't be easy .

Hey, thanks Hiker... It was nice to see that number this morning.
Anyway, as I said Friday went well. I ate good all day, and I exercised. So, it was good. But, Saturday was not so good. I was really low for calories and ate a bunch of stuff that I am suppose to eat. So, trying to get back to where I was on Friday now.
Starting off good today with some Hebrew nationals and chili beans, now I am ready to hit the elliptical and treadmill. That in itself will burn off what I have had already.
Ok, will report in tomorrow morning on how it all goes...

My weekend was a little disappointing but overall not too bad. I had company over for dinner on Saturday and Sunday. I didn't eat too much be I definitely had too much wine (too many empty calories).
This is one of the reasons that I decided to stop drinking.
After Christmas I'll go back to my "no alcohol" rule but just for Christmas I'll indulge just a little. My new promise to myself is to not have any desserts at any Christmas dinners (unless it is fresh fruit). I think I can handle myself pretty well with the dinner part but I usually go overboard on the desserts so this year I'll just say no.

my weekend went ok! i didnt do too terribly bad aside from my cookie dough binge yesterday due to the phone call with my mom that wasnt that great. i didnt do any real exercise, since i was still feeling under the weather with a bug but yesterday madeline and i wrestled and played "baby weight exercising" with my legs and feet and we ran around the house alot. It was just fun times, nothing too physical, but i worked muscles anyway. food was pretty good, i didnt break any of my eating well challenge, aside from the cookies. I did toss the rest of that dough so its all gone. And yes, there are cookies in the cabinet, but i dont want them cooked. For me its raw, so I am ok for now!!!Last edited on 23 December 2008 10:16 pm by BJD74

day 1 of the weekend challenge. have had nuts, carrot, a small slice of homemade pumpkin pie (its gone, finally!!) with whip cream, hard boiled egg, an apple. I just completed my bowflex workout as well.
Last nite was Daveys birthday gathering, so i had 4 michelob ultra at 74 cal each, mini brownies (4-8ct, 1 inch squares), 2 of my cookies, 2 mini cupcakes (290cal), fresh mozerella cheese with cherry tomatoes, salame, and 2-3 slices (1.5 in squares) of home made pizza, queso and tortilla chips(5 chips with dip)....basically snacked thru the nite, never sat down to eat at one time..i did ok, but i felt very full at the end of the nite. I hadnt eaten all day. Had orange juice before bed. Bowflex workout as well.

Well, with christmas and all I totally blew this last weekend. But, I am back on track today and want this new years weekend to be good. I want to have the extra pounds back off by the end of the year.
I did however do good on exercise. Saturday I did the walk a lap, jog a lap thing, and did 4miles. So, I was happy and proud about that.
Hope everyone else is doing good...

i kinda went downhill yesterday. not sure why? but i cleared out the tins i made for the family, since they wont be getting them soon...its best to just give it all to the dogs. They loved it!!!
I didnt eat after 8pm last nite though. Sometimes I do, often we do.....snacking while watching something.......but last nite i passed on anything.
I had bran flakes for dinner. You would think I am not wanting to eat since my mouth, teeth have been so tender and achy this past few days. Everything that goes into my mouth hurts me. I fear I do have a sinus infection that I cant make go away...hence all the pain.
My tummy is growling, I think all I want is hard boiled eggs. Wierd huh?
Its Daveys real birthday today, we celebrated on Saturday so its just kinda quiet today. I wanna do something for him, like go to the zoo...but we are broke. We cant do much, not even a breakfast at DennyS!
How sad is that? So, I will try to be good today. I am very sore, my quads and legs esp.....too much bowflex....agh!

My weekend lasted 4 days and eating was AWFUL. I am back on track today and intend to stay there.
I did manage to exercise Saturday so I did a little damage control but not enough. My scale said 163lbs this morning. I am sure I'll lose some in water over the next few days but OH BOY talk about falling off the wagon.

i am so glad to not be alone in my challenges over the holiday weeks. We are half way thru the holidays! New years for us is just getting more interesting! We just got an invite from the neighbors to come to a POT LUCK. Bring what you would like to share. Davey wants brownies, the gewey kind. I am thinking some dark chocolate brownies, i have some unsweetened cocoa, i bet i could make something.....from scratch. I could put walnuts in also, and maybe some chocolate chips? Hmm, peanut butter?
Any thoughts for a good dish to share with our neighbors? We (mostly ME ) are just meeting a lot of them for the first time. I know I can make something sweet, so far we have posole (pork green chili corn kernals that overcook and POP! and other items as you wish..) chips and queso/salsa. So far its very southwestern. I could make some guacamole, but that is so basic. I could make fresh mozerella and tomatoes bites (with seasonings and olive oil drizzled over)...umm....i guess i could do just about anything, i have to buy whatever i decide though. This is older folks, retirees mostly, there will be beverages, but no alcohol as most dont drink and its at 730pm. Early NYE. Its a nice thing to attend to meet them and mingle and get some food, as long as you dont go overboard....but its the not going overboard that will be hard. I love to snack on items in a pot luck buffett, i love posole. I would like to make that for Davey, but its nice that its gonna be there cuz that saves me from making the soup myself. I would eat way more than I should you know!!?!?! All things in moderation.
That is not really a "weekend challenge" but its a holiday dinner challenge, and i consider the holidays a weekend event. Its two days of activities. :)

Hey Bec, don't worry about it. We have all over done it at some point. But, just the fact that you realize it and are doing something about it. I wish I could say the same. I was all prepared to be good again, and fell today with fast food. So stick to your guns, you will get there...
Bj- that is a big challenge, I think. I can never pull off the friends and social eating stuff. I get way to freaked out and just dive in.... Good luck, I hope you have better luck then me...

i think it will be fine. i am baking brownies from scratch per daveys request. i did buy a mix just in case they taste funky though! i feel like we all have an extended weekend with new years tonite and then off tomorrow as well. It is tough to stay on track!
I hope to do better next weekend. The only thing I am pondering now is with the new year and end of holidays and possibly lack of success for weight losss...I DONT WANT TO LOSE FAITH AND MOTIVATION? its so dreary in January around here and post holidays i seem to get down. Maybe since I wasnt so involved with family this year it will be easier on me.
Always my own challenge...who needs to create one when i have one of my own!?!?!!? ha ha ha lol

So, that's my goal for the weekend, is to exercise my brains out, lol.

I am with you there Cindy. I am starting my weekend challenge today. I had good intentions on Monday and Tuesday to get back on the wagon but unfortunately I stayed off.
My son has been at my parents house during the day and they have so many left over goodies. When I have been to pick him up after work I have been munching on their Christmas goodies. Yesterday I ate 6 spring rolls, some chips, licorice all sorts and a couple of pieces of Chocolate. All of that was after I had reached my calorie limit for the day.
I am not going out for new years tonight so I am starting my weekend challenge today. Good luck everyone. It can only get better from here. The hard part is over

lol, same here. I had every intention on jump starting the new year with a loss. Oh well, that's something I will work on this week. Hoping by friday to be back to normal weight again. If I do that, then I can't hardly be mad. It's better then keeping on the extra christmas weight.
Also, I got to say. Every year I gain about 10lbs over the winter months. This year, that has not happened. So, very pleased with that.
We will all do great this weekend. We all just got to watch that wine and champagne tonight.

wow wow wow what a great gathering last nite. the posole was awesome, not very hot but the guests werent too into the hot stuff...but it was yummy! then, for dessert i had two homemade ritz peanut butter sandwiches that were dipped in chocolate. WOW. I just died and went to heaven...like those nutter butter bars? so, being curious georgette, i looked up on the internet a calorie count, and WOW! a whopping 396 calories per cookie sandwich! OMG! Overboard on the calories there, even the posole is only about 265 calories per bowl or cup. Other than those two things, i had iced tea with splenda, and veggies. I had a tortilla as well. But i never went overboard! I am happy that I didnt! I also left my two dishes of brownies there in exchange for some posole to bring home! I am happy with that exchange.
I am not weighing in today, but i enjoyed the party. We had a sober new years, let off some great fireworks at 12 and hit the hot tub for about 40 minutes after then we crashed and slept in till almost 10!
Happy New Year 2009!!!!

BJ- my sister made those cookie things last year for Christmas. They are really good. I can see why you were eating them.
I haven't been to bad today. I had a few pretzels and cheese dip. Then I had a big plate of ham, beans, potatoes, corn bread, and dumplings. I didn't eat it all, but had a bunch of the beans. So, I kept it under control.
Exercise still isn't back up to snuff. Got to work on that some more. I been really lazy about doing it lately. So, maybe I will try out this new dvd that I got and see how it goes.
That's it for me so far. Hope everyone else is doing good...

I've been gone for a couple of weeks and it has taught me how much I need you guys. I have been eating awful but the holidays are over and I have thrown out most of the bad stuff ,still have a chocolate tort that wasn't even touched and I just can't toss that so hopefully I can control it and only eat a small portion here and there. In any case I am committed to getting back on the wagon and it starts today.
Hope everyone has a good weekend.

Don't worry Hiker, you'll get back on track in no time.
Ok, well the exercise was great yesterday. Now, the trick is to keep it going. So, going to do a quick once over in the house and get chores done then hitting the machines for some exercise.
Lets see yesterday was an hour on the bike, 50 mins on the elliptical and then 2mils walk/jog on the treadmill.
Not sure what I want to do today. I have a new tape that I would like to get in. So, it might be aerobics for me, then maybe the treadmill. Not sure, worry about later after chores are done.
Good Luck everyone, it is now Friday and the weekend challenge starts at supper time. So, get out your menus and get to planning.
I personally need to do better on the weekends cause I put monday down as my new weigh in day. So, there will be no cheating for me....

Wednesday night didn't go so well for me. I ended up over eating at my mom's house again
Yesterday was much better. I only managed to slip up once. We went out to a movie and I had some skittles and some popcorn. I did get out for a run though so I probably evened it all out. Onto Friday Saturday and Sunday. I hope I can mange to shed some of the water weight by Monday. I'll let you know
