Cport and Onceupon....Nice job on the week-end, sounds like you both kept it under control.
I had a good week end too, I kept my calories under 1500 which is what I shoot for on the week ends, during the week I keep them under 1300. I was even able to have a piece of dark chocolate. I bought it at Starbucks on Friday and saved it until Sunday night as a treat for staying on track through the week end. Boy did it taste good eating it and knowing I was still okay with the calorie countcount . I was good on my excercise too, I walked each day at least 5 miles. Having dogs really helps get me out.
Glad to see so many of us having good week ends--if we have good week ends it sure makes the week a lot easier!

Nice job to as well Hiker! Glad you got to have a treat...I might try that this weekend.
Treat myself on Monday, if I can stay under control all weekend.

Okay, I think I'd like to join this. I'm sick of making excuses for myself on the weekends... plus I do it Friday-Sunday!!!
My goals for this weekend are:
stay around 1300 on Friday
break even on Saturday
stay around 1300 on Sunday
And no alcohol! Not even a glass o wine!
Only healthy foods
I think I can do this. I can't even imagine how great I'll feel Monday morning after being so good over a weekend!

Alrighty I am reporting in today instead of Monday because I had a 4 day weekend. All 4 days were pretty bad but I didn't go over the top. I managed to keep my weight the same so it was not all bad.
I still need to get better but all in all I am not completely unhappy.

I am glad your back. I was wondering where you were....Glad to hear there was some progress.
I know I still have a ways to go myself. Even though I keep the calories under control, I really need to be making better food choices.

On Wednesday we went to a Brazilian rodizio for dinner (very spur of the moment) and I got pretty sick from it afterwards. Yesterday I could barely eat and the thought of eating meat still makes me want to hurl. Anyway, all I had to eat yesterday was some pineapple, cucumber, and carrots and a glass of cranberry juice in the morning. This morning I had some oatmeal and toast to try and make up for yesterday's calorie deficit. So here's my plan for this weekend:
1. Eat a healthy amount of food today. It's "cheat day" but I cheated on Wednesday so I might skip the dessert (or then again maybe not...we'll see how strong my will power is...).
2. Saturday and Sunday - stay w/in calorie limit of 1600 cals and try to increase fruit and veg intake.

Wow, I can't believe it's almost time for the challenge to start, and I haven't posted yet.
Ok, so here we go again..... what's everyones plan to stay out of all the goodies this weekend?
I really think that I will be to busy to mess this weekend up. The only way I could mess it up, is if we would happen to go some place. So, I don't have a plan, I am winging it this weekend, and see what happens. Wish me luck....
Also, good luck to everyone else. I hope we all pull through with flying colors this weekend. So, stick with it and stay focused....
See you all on Monday....if your struggling this weekend...post here for a few words of encouragement. I know there are allot us that stop in here on the weekends...

OK so my plan is to be bad tonight and then really really super awesome good on Saturday and Sunday. I am hosing a party tonight and it seems wrong not to eat the food I am making so I'll splurge a little this evening.

I may even splurge some tonight. I have been good all day, since I have been on the run all day. So, I might just have to reward myself...
I don't know, maybe I will save the reward for Sunday... Give me a reason to keep doing good...

| I want to be really good today and Sunday... cooking all our meals, no alcohol, between 1200-1500 calories. Saturday I want to consume healthy foods, but my main goal is just to not consume more calories than I expend. I reeeaaaally hope I do this!

I haven't been good so far I have pretty much stayed within my calorie limit but I ate nachos, drank pop, and ate chocolate... I started this morning with a hand full of peanut m&m's but I am going to stop there and turn things around before Monday!

Shame on me! I ate poorly again today. I did, however, take the dog for a walk and I went to the gym. I hope that makes up for my poor behavior.
I hope everyone else was able to reign it in today:) If not, then we can all get back on track tomorrow!!!

Talk about blowing it....I don't think there was a thing I didn't eat this week-end---oh yeah....I don't think I ate a single vegetable . I had my two nephews, ages 3 and 5 for the week end so that meant eating at "toy restaurants" AKA McDonald or Burger King, we also made some great "turkeys" out of Oreo cookies, candy corn and malted milk balls....yup I ate some of those and of course when we weren't at toy restaurants it was mac 'n cheese so let's just say today is a day of atonement but at least I feel strong and ready to get back on the wagon.
Hope everyone else had better week ends food wise I mean because actually I had a great week end.

I was pretty good over the weekend but not perfect. Friday I ate a bunch of little lings that I made for my party (Buffalo chicken, pizza bagels, chips and salsa) but I didn't have supper so I figured it wasn't too bad. I had some wine Friday night too.
Saturday I went for a 10km run and didn't eat too badly
Sunday I went for another 10km run and did an hour and a half of swimming/floating with my son and ate fairly well as well.
I did nit have any booze on Saturday and Sunday and I found it a lot easier to control my eating.
All in all a pretty good eating/exercise weekend for me. My weight however remains the same but I find it easier to lose during the week and maintain at the weekend.

Well, I am going to say mine was bad. Mainly cause I had some stuff I shouldn't of been eating.
Friday, I was really good.
Saturday, I was really bad. I had meatloaf, chips dip, a bunch of other stuff.
Sunday, I didn't eat allot, but again, didn't eat very healthy things.
So, my goal for next weekend is to clean up my act and eat healthy. I try to eat healthy all week, there is no reason not to do that on the weekends, also.

Bec, funny you should mention no alcohol helping. I find the same thing, if I have one drink even it seems to weaken my resolve so for me no drinks is usually the best way to go and I really don't miss it....much rather use those 100 calories or so on something sweet .

Yeah Hiker I am beginning to think the same thing. I usually have a glass or two of wine on Friday and Saturday night but I think for now I'll lay off it.
I never really thought about the extra food calories I could have if I didn't have my drink or two

I didn't do too well this weekend, but it could have been much worse! I had the munchies sooo bad. I even had a killer tooth ache on both Saturday and Sunday... I hardly ever get those!
I didn't drink except a tiny bit of wine on Saturday... I'm talking 3-4 oz.
If I had stuck to my plan I would have eatten about 4800 calories from Friday-Sunday, instead I consumed 5595. Atleast I didn't eat more than I burned!

Hey Sara, looks like you did okay with your calories. maybe a little more than you wanted but you still stayed in control which is a lot better than I did. I am sorry to hear you had a tooth ache , you have my sympathy. I don't think I've had one of those in 20 years--now I've jinxed myself .
Last night I threw out all the junk that was left from when my nephews were here. Seeing those malted milk balls in the trash just about broke my heart . Next week-end will be better I hope.

haha, thanks Hiker... I meant to say sweet tooth though. I must have been doing something else while I was typing... still don't know why I said tooth ache though . Thanks for your sympathy though!
Mmm.. I looove malted milk balls! They're so easy to eat a lot of! Each one is just as good as the first, and they're not even that filling.
Sorry you didn't do so well with your calories, there's always this weekend though! That's what's so great about this challenge!
Thanks for starting it Cport!

I can't believe it's almost the weekend again. I spent all week being so bad, that I forgot all about the weekend challenge.
Ok, well for me the plan is to eat light and stay busy. I am going to try and stay away from anything bad on friday night and saturday.
I recently made out a food chart to go by. Not doing to bad with it. But, sunday, is my day for chicken or beef. Since I will only eat it once a week now. So, for the challenge on sunday, I am just going to stay within calorie range and not worry about what it is that I am eating.
Good Luck everyone.... I hope everyone does good this weekend.

Hey guys, here we are at a another week end. I'm in the same boat as Cport, I've slipped a lot this week. I made a huge mistake in judgement when I shopped last week end and though I could handle some ice cream in the house...I was wrong. Well it's gone now....unfortunately it's gone to my stomach . And in case that wasn't bad enough I found these Gorgonzola cheese crackers at Trader Joes....well let's just say the went the same way as the ice cream....right into my mouth. Lesson learned...I have no will power.
I am going to try and be stricter Saturday and Sunday....I am going out with friends tonight and we are going to a place that is famous for it's desserts and martinis so being honest (and what better place to be honest) I know I am going to fall again tonight. But I hope to report back on Monday that I controlled it to a reasonable degree.

Good Luck with that hiker!
For me, I really need to get back to square one this weekend. I have had a horrible week. Eating stuff that I am not suppose to and overeating as well. So, I am looking at this weekend as something to save me. I have put on a few pounds and I want them gone.
I also gave up the idea of eating beef or chicken on sunday. I blew that last night when I was scarfing on ham. So, looks like it will be turkey or fish again.
Good Luck everyone!!!! I hope your weekend turns out well....

I was horrible all week - I made a pumpkin roll to see if I could (not the best baker in the world) and then I made a pumpkin cake (well, Paula Deen's pumpkin bar recipe - which is delicious) for my daughter's preschool Thanksgiving celebration. I had a piece of pumpkin roll and TWO pieces of pumpkin cake yesterday! No wonder I feel bloated and sick. Too much sugar always does that to me, yet I eat it anyway. In fact, I think I mostly eat sugar.
Well anyway, today's my birthday and it kicks off a weekend/upcoming week of parties/celebrations. I am going out for chinese tonight and then my sister-in-law is taking me out for brunch tomorrow. I am giving myself some slack tonight but tomorrow I will choose soup and salad. Then my mil and other sil get into town for Thanksgiving. My mil is a great cook so she will be cooking non-stop until Thanksgiving (she has planned no less than 4 different desserts). My parents and sibs come into town later in the week and then next Saturday is my son's first birthday - cupcakes and pizza. Starting next Wednesday I won't be able to exercise b/c I will have too many guests and too much entertaining to do.
So, I will do my best. I will try to maintain small portions of everything I choose to eat. I haven't lost anything but a pound in three months so I am in danger of just "giving up" and this weekend and upcoming week will be a test of my determination.

Great idea Curves, sounds like you have a challenging but fun filled week end coming up. I think you are really approaching it sensibly. My only suggestion would be if there is anything "dangerous" left Sunday night throw it out...unless of course you have good will power, for me the only answer is to get it out of my sight. Enjoy your birthday ---this week end you can have your cake and eat it too.

| Thanks guys! I can't tell you how helpful this forum has been to me. Yesterday I was ready to throw in the towel b/c I haven't seen a change in the scale for so long. My bad habits started to kick in and I craved McDonald's b/c I knew it would make me feel better. But then I thought about posting on this site and decided to skip over the urge. Granted, I had three pieces of cake yesterday, but in the past I would have had all that cake AND the McDonald's.

Hiker- I have that same problem with crackers! No will power, what so ever! I've bought crackers 3 times since I've been dieting, the first time I ate it all that day (with cheeze wiz ) The second time I made it to the 3rd day until I ate the whole box, and the 3rd time I made it to the second day, haha. I just can't stop myself! They're so good! I don't allow myself to buy them anymore. Oh yeah, and the last time I was around crackers, I ate too many... they were spicy cheeze its ... and then I puked I had so many! It's like something a little kid would do! Anyway, good luck with getting back on track!
Happy birthday Curves Ahead!
I'm going home for all of break today, so I won't be able to post how I did this weekend. I'm kinda just counting the whole week as one long weekend. My hope is to stay at an average of 1600 calories/day for the entire week.
Have a great Thanksgiving everyone!

Hey guys, sorry to hear a few of us struggling this week end. As we all know there are going to be ups and downs, I think it's important to keep it in perspective and not let it through us on a downward spiral. This time of year I think it's especially important to keep in mind we're going to slip but just because we slip up on a day or two we haven't blown what we've been working on for weeks and even months. For me that is the danger....to just say, oh well I blew it all week end and Thanksgiving is coming so I'll start over, nope not for me this time. I am going to keep positive and when I have those bad days I will take them for what they are, one or two bad days, nothing more.
That being said I actually had a good week end food and exercises wise, it just fell together for me, I'm hoping to stay on track until Thursday. I will give myself Thursday as an off day, but not go crazy, and hopefully hop right back on Friday. Next week end....now that I think will be a challenge . Even so this group is great and I know we will do it!
I am going to make a commitment to you guys right now....I will not go crazy all of next week end eating everything. In fact I have already started a plan....first of all leftovers out or at least into the freezer downstairs and if it's something I am the only one likely to eat it, it definitely goes into the trash Friday night....Sara....for you and me that means the crackers go into the trash .
Have a great week everyone.

My weekend was much like my last weekend for eating. I didn't go nuts but I ate some stuff I shouldn't have. However I did run 5km on Saturday and 10km on Sunday so I probably came out even.
Friday night was really bad for eating. My boyfriend took me out to dinner at a fancy restaurant but I didn't really care about what I ate because HE PROPOSED TO ME.....

Hi week- end buddies. I did well yesterday until I went to them movies and ate a large bag of .... yup, buttered popcorn followed by some delicious chocolate covered grahams from Starbucks . So not a great start for the week end but I am committed to getting back on track today (Saturday). I have a 3-4 hour hike planned at Mt Wachusett, which is a local mountain...very small mountain I have to say, but better than nothing. My dogs love it and hopefully it will get me kick started on going in the right direction.
Have a great rest of the week end.
Cport....thank you so much for starting this challenge, knowing I have accountability and someone to "chat" with on the weekends helps.

Sounds like you have a plan, Hiker. Have fun on your hike today.
I don't know what's in store for me the rest of the weekend. Yesterday was kind of a fasting day for me. I only had a few bites of left over turkey, a few diet chips with taco dip. That was it.
So, today, I think I will start adding food again, slowly. Otherwise I am afraid I might go on a binge and be right back to where I was on thanksgiving. Which was bloated and miserable.
Everyone! Good Luck today!!!!

Well, we've made it through a really tough food week-end, hope everyone is satisfied with the way it went.
As I reported I extended my Thanksgiving eating into Friday as well but on Saturday I got it under control. Under 1300 calories each day and I also go a hike and a good walk in. Tomorrow is my weigh in day and I am hoping to break even for the week, we'll see.
Cport and OnceUpon, you guys are awesome, it sounds like you just got right back into the swing on Friday Great job.

I had a good weekend. Friday and sat. were great days. I ate at little as possible both days since I pigged out on thurs. Then sunday, I kept it under control, but I did eat some things I shouldn't of been eating. But, I didn't go crazy. So, all in all, a good weekend for me.
Let's hope I can keep this going into the coming week.
Good Luck with the weigh in Hiker!
