It's almost time for the next challenge, everyone!
Here are the guidelines for the Fall Weight Loss Challenge (similar to those of the previous ones):
- The challenge will run from Monday, September 1st through Friday, October 31st.
- You may join the challenge at any time beginning September 1st, and late-comers are most welcome. You can even join the challenge in October.
- To join the challenge, post your starting weight and goal weight.
You may choose any goal you like. But if your goal is to lose more than 18 pounds during the challenge period -- more than two pounds a week -- please explain why you think your goal is realistic.
This website is dedicate to healthy, common sense, lasting weight loss, and does not support crash diets which do not have realistic expectations of producing long-term results.

- Pick a day for your weekly weigh-in, and stick to it a closely as you can. Then post your current weight each week -- or as often as you would like!
You may wish to read: How Often Should You Weigh Yourself
Those who are not losing weight, and those who are gaining, will receive praise for continuing to participate. It's so easy to run and hide! We've all been there ourselves.
We also know that by participating, they are very likely doing better than they otherwise would be.
- The results will be updated every Wednesday (or more often) and posted right here just below these instructions, so they will always be easy to find.
We want the challenge stats to be realistic and reflect active challenge members, so anyone not posting for two consecutive weeks will be dropped from the list. But they will be put right back on the next week should they post again.
If you need to withdraw from the challenge, please have the courtesy to post a farewell note or send me a Private Message (PM). Your name will be removed without comment.
- You are encouraged to share how you are doing during the challenge, and especially to give each other support. However, to make it easier for me to find your weekly weight, please make sure your weight stands out.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to post them or send me a PM.

Hi I would like to participate in this challange as well
However i will be going on a hloiday for 3 weeks in middle of October but will still try my hardest as these challenges really help me it is like competing myself which feels great.
My current weight 136lbs
My Target weight 126lbs
lets see if i could reach this target

Count me in on the challenge - as well. I'll be away for a couple of weeks in September but I like the accountability factor these challenges provide. My current weight is 122 and my goal weight will be 120. It seems kind of wimpy - just 2 pounds in 2 months but these 2 pounds are hard to get off!
I found that it's easier for me to concentrate on losing just 2 pounds at a time - when I initially started in January my goal was 117 - since I wasn't reaching it fast enough I decided to lower my sights a bit and it's made all the difference in the world. Baby steps, as they say. Anyway, glad to be on board. My check in days will be Saturday.

I'll be joining this challenge too, I guess the more times I enter the more chance I have of succeeding Not sure what my starting weight will be, but as I'm making Monday my weigh in day I'll be back then. My goal will probably be 120lb [again] though. Thanks for taking this on!

Hi I'm joining this challenge too!
My starting weight is: 183 pounds
And my goal weight is: 173 pounds
This has helped me so much in the last 2 months, that I'm glad there's another one!

Word, I'm down for another challenge.
Starting weight: 380.00 pounds
Goal Weight: 360.00 pounds
I'll maintain my current weigh-in schedule for Saturdays.
20 pounds is sort of a lot to lose, but I somehow managed to lose about 30 pounds or so in the last challenge, partly because I do have so much excess weight to lose, so I think I can afford to set a slightly higher goal for myself. I expect great success for myself and everyone who chooses to participate! Best of luck all around!!

About to get slammed by Gustav (in Baton Rouge) shortly so I probably won't be able to report for a week or so.....lots of trees around here and power goes out easily.....but never fear, I'll be back!!!

To be honest I am expecting weight gain and I might languish at the bottom of the table, but having ran the previous challenge I know that it is difficult to run a challenge when somebody has a zero or negative goal (or indeed weighs themselves in kilos ). If I actually lose anything it'll just be a bonus, but I want to stay involved.

Nir, please stay involved! I find you so motivating and something of an expert on the subject of permanent weightloss.

Well, I started Slim in 6 today so I figure I better go for less weight loss than usual. Not that I mind. I'd rather have heavier muscle than fat any day :)

I haven't tried a challenge yet...maybe it will be the thing I need to lose the last 10 and look sexy for my 9yr anniversary on the 31st! Unfortunately I have a 12 day vacation in the middle of this one but there are plenty of other days!

I am behind as usual...
CW:184.5
Goal:168
OT: I have a question...I need to adjust my calories and not sure how many I need to be eating. My activity is 1.5hrs per day 6 days a week= 500 calories burned each time. Now that I weigh less I need to adjust my 1200 and up it. My Dr is saying this is still ok but my weight loss has slowed down so I do not know if that is normal or if I need to eat more. Can someone help me?

Hi, everyone! I can't wait to start this new challenge. Thanks for hosting it, Crimson!
Starting weight: 121 lbs
Goal weight: 119 lbs
Even though that's only a two pound loss, I think it is reasonable. I'm pretty close to my over all goal weight but I still need to lose some fat, so my thinking is that I will displace some of the fat with muscle, which will mean a more modest weight loss. I hope that makes sense.

Ok here goes... haven't been as good as I know can be or should be so I've gone up a few lbs since the last challenge I started. Hoping I can so better this time!!

Wow, we have quite a challenge going on here! I'm trying to get some of my family to join in, too. We'll see. 
Everybody is added to the list as of this point. If you don't see your name on the list, try pressing F5.
Jen, your unadjusted RMR is 1533. This is generally the minimum number of calories you should eat per day. If 1200 isn't working for you, I recommend you gradually increase it and see if that helps.

I think having a challenge will help me stay on track with dieting.
Starting weight: 167
Goal weight: 160
I know its not that much but it seems like I have a really difficult time staying at/under 160 without starving myself and there is no way I'm doing that! I'll weigh in every wed!

| Hi everyone... first time for me... I had a baby a year ago and although I got down to 197 five months after I had her, I've crept back up to 207. My goal by the end of the challenge is to get back to 197. My weigh in day will be Mondays. Thanks!

Hey all. On second thoughts I think I am going to withdraw from this challenge for now, I'm not entirely sure what is going on with my body right now and mentally I don't think it's going to me any good trying to participate right now. I'll rejoin when things settle down though :)

I've decided to get serious about dieting again... I was on about a 10 month binge :).
SW: 150.6 (as of today, Thursday)
GW: 135... to fit into my mermaid costume... my boyfriend is a fisherman :)
Loss: 15.6 (in 57 days= 1.95 lbs. per week)
