Yay! Down one pound to 140.
Also, I sprained my ankle pretty bad playing tennis last night, so I won't be able to do any exercise requiring both my feet for the next 2-3 weeks. This means my weight-loss is going to be based pretty much entirely on diet and therefore pretty slow and difficult. I still wanna stay in the challenge, though. Just don't expect any weight-loss miracles out of me this month. lol

Sweet Kisses, don't let it get you down, I know it really stinks when you are trying to do everything right and then you get laid up. I am an avid walker but then I had some serious foot issue so I lost almost 2 years so I know how easy it is to get into a funk which is what I allowed myself to do and now I am paying for it so try and stay strong while you're laid up. I don't know if you have a gym membership but if so there are lots of machines that just work the upper body or at home you could do some free weights. I wish I had done something, I admit I did nothing which at least for me was a mistake. I am sorry to hear about your mishap, hope you're back to 100% soon.

Thanks so much for the encouragment and advice, Hiker. Its really a big help. And I'll be sure to work on the upper body and ab exercises at home (there isn't a gym around here )
Also, I think that as long as I'm careful, I can do some floor exersizes like leg lifts for my legs. Which is good.

Hi! I'm a verrryyyy late-comer but I'd still like to join for the rest of October!
My current weight is roughly 150 (5'3"ish) and I'd like to lose four lbs. by Halloween!
I think I will make Sundays my weigh-in days. =]

This morning's weigh-in at 175 lbs.
That's up .8 lbs, but my stewed tomatoes last night were a bit salty and still in the middle of TTOM. Next week should be better.

| Hey...today's my weigh in day, but I think I'm going to put it off until next week because I seem to be retaining water for some reason, and my scale is doing wacky things, so I'm really not sure how accurate the weight will be anyway...I'll try to sort it out this week and will be back to report next Saturday!

I'm adjusting my goal weight to 214, and this will be the last time that I adjust it. I have started strength training, and that will significantly have an effect on my weight for some time.

Yes! Back down to 112lbs! I've been eating a lot of pie, and some chips too, so thank goodness!! I thought I'd be at 115lbs.
But... THANKSGIVING DINNER TODAY!
Ahhh! But I'm saving myself till dinner. I'll probably have 500 for the day, then pig out... in moderation lol... It can't be TOO bad!
Some guesstimations:
Turkey - 400
Stuffing - 200
Potatoes - 400
Salad SMOTHERED in dressing - 400
Some gravy -100
Dessert - 300
Other stuff - 500
That's like 2300 calories - 2800 with the 500 earlier in the day! But just an estimate... I'll try to have small portions and a lot of water.
Not too bad...
And I'm not gonna eat the skin of the turkey like I would have before! I wonder how many calories that will save...

wow you put thought into it...I am just going for it, and I have prepared my mind for a 2lb gain this week do to the holiday....I am going to eat all the above, and cranberry sauce too ...be interesting to see how we do...I know cupcakets, is indulding today as well :O)

Hmm, looks like I'll be having maybe less and more?!
I was going to have 500 earlier, but it turned out to be only 100 earlier! I've only had 100 calories so far, and am just about to head out to my cousin's! Oh boy am I hungry! Yet, it was quite easy to just stick to 100. 
Butttt, I just found out we're going to be staying over night!! That means DOUBLE the calories!! I'm going to be pigging out all today and tomorrow! 
Prepared for gain.
It'll be my treat.

| CW: 153.4 (-.4) Not what I expected when I thought I could trick my system after 2 wks of gluttony but scale says hydration/bloating has been off the charts for the past 2 days; I hit 152.8 a couple times this week. This challenge has been so helpful to my weight loss efforts that -- to tell you the truth -- it has caught me off guard. I really appreciate all the work you're doing, not only your record keeping but especially your patient and lighthearted encouragement. Let me also say, congrats to you for your own amazing progress so far.

Hi there every one!
I did weigh-in on Friday but didn't have time to post it in here.
I'm glad to report that I've finally left my plateau. I'm down to 179 pounds , that's only .5 pound lost, but that's a lost!!!
I'm in a group in my home town called Choosing to lose weight? And we talk about all kinds of stuff. We calculated our caloric needs for one day, and with my work, work-out and every day stuff, I need almost 3000 calories so I don't lose or gain weight. That's a lot. And my needs just to live, if I stayed on my back without moving are 1600 calories. No wonder those 1400 calories diet always failed, I was always starving myself. I just need to reduce to 2500 calories and I'd be able to lose 1 pound per week.
The reason of my plateau is that since I've started my new job, I didn't have time to exercise. Now that I'm used to my new job, and getting used to that new routine, I'm able to add a little exercise. So that's why I left my plateau.
that feels good to be able to come in here and share stuff with people that lives the same things...

Well I'm back from vacation and I am actaully down .5, current weight is 145.0. I am pretty sure it's just a lucky break and by next week I will see a gain for all of the bad I did....but it was worth it .
