Any chance he also lives in Smalltown, Colorado? If he'd put that in his profile I could "promote" him from New Member.

If you run into him, you might let him know.

I hope you didn't take me off the list. My computer is not working and I have not been able to get internet for the last three days. So, my weigh in on Tuesday was 124lbs.

I think that is the same as last time. I am having a hard time getting my weight to stay at 124lb. Not real sure why, I am not being really bad on my eatting habits. But, I am making some changes and hopefully that will help in the long run.

I hope I can get my computer to work today. On the daughters right now. What a pain, I miss being on here.

Peter wrote: I'm a little confused. In the stats I show you last posted June 9, but I don't see that post. And the weight I show, 151.5, is what you posted June 2.

Anyway, I'll update it to 152 next update... unless you post again first.

You can weigh any day you like. Every day if you like.

Peter:monkey:

Hi Peter,

I can see why I confused you.  I don't know what happened to my June 9th post.  I was having some computer problems and I was unable to complete my post that day.  Odd.  Anyhow I ended up posting June 10th.

My starting weight for this leg of the challenge is:  152

My goal weight is:   143

Are you going to continue to post the stats on Wednesdays?

Regards,

Skinnieme :shooting_star:

I didn't think I was doing bad enough to GAIN. Especially the past couple days. I've been trying harder. Obviously not hard enough. My goal is WAY out of reach now! So... New goal-148. Since I haven't lost weight in 3 weeks it probably isn't too low.

:ribbon: Congrats to everyone who is in the red! You are doing great!:ribbon:

kalypso wrote: I'm back from vacation, I was soooo reluctant to get on the scale this morning to give a number for the challenge, but I know I have to be honest with myself if I'm going to be able to pick myself up and move on.

I'm now 133 lbs, which almost right back to where I started from almost 3 months ago. Wow, that is a really painful realization because it makes me feel that my hard work was all for naught. At the same time, it was nice to feel free to undulge during my time off, but now I'm back with a vengeance to rid myself of this weight once and for all!

PS - I'm secretly hoping some of that weight is actually water weight, it's highly probable... we'll see what the scale says tomorrow morning.

Three times since I started with the challenges in the fall I have gained weight. But it always came back off very quickly.

I don't have a clue how it works, but it would seem that five pounds quickly added can be lost again much faster than you would normally lose five pounds of fat.

Water certainly expains some of it.

So as my little monkey always says, "Hang in there!"

Peter:monkey:

P.S.

A couple people posted asking not to be dropped. I drop people from the list when they haven't posted in over 2 weeks, not days.

You can post any day of the week, as often as you like. I'll update the list at least once a week.

I only drop people to keep the stats realistic, and of course anyone who is dropped will be put right back on the list if they post again.

So far 21 people have been dropped, and there are 10 who haven't posted in the last 10 days.

I don't mention this to be negative... it's a fact of dieting a weight loss. And I ought to know. I'd diet perfectly, then when I went off my diet I didn't want to discuss it with anyone... just gone! So I understand.

However, it makes me especially proud of all of us who have stuck around, and especially those who have put on weight! That's very admirable not to "cut and run" as the expression goes, or in this case eat and run.

I'm sure we are all doing better to keep working at it and staying in the challenge. All of us who stick it through to the end should get a blue ribbon.

Peter,

You're right about this.  I went on vacation in May and gained weight.  I worked out during vacation and watched what I ate most of the time but still gained.  I lost it all and then some.

I have no proof of this but when I plateau, I go off for a couple of days but nothing crazy.  If I gain a pound or two it seems to trigger something that will allow me to drop those and get off the plateau.  Maybe my body sees the extra calories and stops burning fat and then when I get on the wagon again, it all of a sudden thinks I need more fuel and burns it up.  I have to say though that when I do get back on the wagon I kick up the intensity of my workouts a notch and this may be part of it.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Bert

P.S.  I'll post weight Monday, my ususal day.

How come my stats haven't changed? It still says I'm 126 lbs, last time I posted I was 133 lbs. However, I weighed this morning and I'm 128 lbs. What a weird fluctuation, but in any case I should be seeing the numbers go down from here since I'm back on a strict routine after the vacation.

I usually post the stats late at night when I'm falling asleep. Just let me know when I make an error.

Also before posting a correction be sure to refresh your browser IF the date on the stats doesn't match the date of my post reading... STATS UPDATED TO HERE.

Thanks,

244 this week, started at 248, goal of 238 which seems unlikely at this point but I'm ok with that. I'd be really pleased to hit 240 by July 4th...I'm going for slow and steady.

Good Morning

Weighing in for this week - I am still at 123 - but I feel okay about it since I have been diligently working out and watching my treats.  Although this weekend is going to be a challenge - I have a luncheon today - then a dinner tonight - and tomorrow a birthday plus Father's Day - Aack - too bad I don't have a sore jaw or something.  Maybe I'll pretend I have a toothache and can only eat small bites -we'll see! Talk to you next week!

Sorry!

I moved my website http://www.MySchnauzer.net where I was storing the stats chart, but forgot. So I kept updating it on the old site which wasn't showing in this form. Should be fixed now!

BTW, IF you're a "dog person," you can see my latest puppy video on YouTube here:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RUwcj7eagsA

WAHAAY I've made it I weighed myself this morning and the scales read 160lbs.  Did wonder if I'd ever do it given that I stuck at the same weight for so many weigh ins.

But seeing others acheive made me determined to get there.  I really worked hard at portion control and having some water before every meal.  Now I suppose the real challenge starts of staying at that weight.

Well done everyone who's got to their target, those who are getting there as it means you've lost weight.

I am simply raising my puppy the way I raised my daughters!

My wife and I never read any books that I remember, but just used common sense. For example, when you say something, you mean it. If you say to do something, they must do it.

Also spouses can argue all they want, but they speak in one mind to their children. If one says something, the other must support it. The child can not go to the other parent for a more lenient decision.

We never put up delicate things when we had children. We simply taught them not to touch them. My home is full of puppy toys and antique toys, and Muka knows which ones to play with and which ones not to touch.

I am very warm and loving, but I set rules and boundaries and stick to them. Because they know where they stand, children and puppies can then spend their time enjoying life rather than wasting it fighting with you.

Sorry for the lecture!

Peter:monkey:

P.S.

Oh yea, you asked about putting his toys away! LOL

Well, you can't tell a puppy to do that like you can a child. So I make a game out of it and what you didn't see in the video is that after he's all done "cleaning up" he gets to play tug-of-war as a reward.

Well, I guess you could do something like that with a very small child too... make a game out of it. But when they are older, they do it because you taught them to. Or told them too.

P.P.S.

As long as I'm posting... I'm excited to have lost another pound this week to 168.

Hi Peter,

Congratulations on your loss!  And thanks for the tug of war tip, but I will try it on my teenage daughter's hair-dryer rather than the usual fight over my laptop LOL!  Seriously though, I think a reward system should do the trick as long as it doesn't involve either food or money.

Enjoyed your short summary of child rearing and pet rearing Peter!  It's good to have a short simple summary like that.  I've got 3 grown, but 2 more to go and still struggling with parenthood it seems, but I agree with your advice.
