Welcome to new members laurie1991, littlelori919 and Danielle!

My, littlelori919's lost over 50 pounds since December. Keep it up!

So far 12 members have dropped out (by not posting in two weeks). I don't mean to celebrate this, but I do mean to celebrate all those of us who have stayed in. Even those who have gained weight, and probably would have gained more without the challenge.

Keep working at it. It's a lifetime effort!

Sorry w/ my late weigh in... We were out of town to visit my grandmother. So yes I went up but not too my starting weight for challenge and it could have been so much worse... Considering when we go to NY, every meal is eaten at resturants. But only around 2lbs isn't so darn bad.

I think last week was 297.1

 and this week is 299.4

I'm not sure if that works the way you'd like it too, but I think positive visualization is a great technique.

If I'm thinking of myself with good posture, I find myself standing and sitting that way!

If I think of myself as being thin, I find myself eating that way!

So I prefer to put a picture of a good-looking, thin man on my fridge, or a good looking picture of me when I was thin, rather than an obese picture as many people do to remind themselves not to pig-out.

cportwine wrote: Well, my average today is 125lbs. Which is a gain for me. I am done with graduation and have way to many left overs, plus I caught a cold. So, this next week for me is not looking very good.

I hope I get to feeling better so I can get back on track.

Congrats on graduation, and sticking with the challenge!

Back up to 140. Not a surprise. I'll have to try harder this week though, or I won't ever get anywhere.

You can put me down for 148.5.  Had a small period of a massage gain but have managed to lose the gain (156) and then some!  Feeling good now and back on track.

clarinetgurl wrote: Well, on yesterday's weigh in I was 139.2.

But that weight came in after GRADUATION NIGHT! And after graduating that night we had a lock in at the school, with free food all night long...

So I had had three slices of pizza, two cookies, a mini coffee, a candy bar, two diet mountain dews, and, at 5 in the morning, a doughnut and a biscuit from Hardees.

So I weighed again this morning, and I was back down to 137.2 MUCH more reasonable. So
i shall go with a Wednesday weigh in this week.

Keep it up everyone!!!!!!!

I was so busy getting ready for my daughters graduation that I missed yours. Congrats! I hope all good things will come to you.

When I made this lifestyle change in October the first thing I did was create a picture in photoshop of what I will look like by next October. I look at it all the time. Visualizing is a huge motivator, you are correct.
Writing down your goals is another.
I'm going to be brave and put that picture on my fridge now. At first I knew I would laugh...the way I looked to get to there? But it's getting acheivable.

Hi Peter (and everyone),

I just joined this site and am impressed. Especially with the forums and the success you are having with this challenge. I've discovered that I can't stay focussed on my own, so although you are almost half way through, I'd like to join the challenge.

I'm just starting my weight-loss/healthy eating plan. I joined the gym at work and do classes (step usually) 3 times a week with my co-workers. Since I'm just starting I'll probably drop some water weight at the start, so I think I'll set 9 pounds over 4.5 weeks as my goal:

Starting weight:  182

Goal weight for challenge: 173

Weigh-in time:  Tuesday morning

Best wishes everyone,

Ceecee

Yeah, finally back down to  124lbs

Was beginning to wonder if it was going to come back down or not. Glad it did. I wish I could get it to stay there for good.

At least this gives me the encouragement to resist the junk food in the house.

Hey! Just decided to do my weigh-in early this week since I'm about to go away on vacation ( :palms::sun:!!!) for about 10 days and won't be able to check in during that time. I stepped on the scale this morning and to my surprise (and delight) - I'm 125.6 lbs!

I don't know how all of a sudden I dropped 4 pounds in a week, it must have been water weight or something?? Regardless, I'm thrilled because that puts me only 5 pounds away from my goal weight - a great feeling to have before I leave! However, I worry about how I'll eat and drink when I'm gone, so wish me luck!

Kalypso,

Enjoy your vaction and don't worry about the weight.  I went on vacation last week and gained 6 lbs.  I've since lost it and will do my official weigh in Monday.

You've waited for your vacation and the goal of the weight loss should not be the only goal you have.  A healthy lifestyle of eating right and exercise is what will give you the long term results.  One week may affect you in the short term but if this is about lifestyle, don't worry about it.

Make it a point to work out 4 of the 10 days your on vacation.  Make it a good workout.  Eat what you want 40% of the time and be reasonable for the other 60%.  When you get back you won't feel deprived and feel good about getting back on the wagon.  If you gain a bit, so what?  You'll lose it and hit your goal a week or two later.

Have a great time!!

Bert

I know the feeling. Except I have already put on some weight and now this weekend were going camping and I know it will be hard to stay on track. But, then it will also be a great chance for exercising. Can't wait to go hiking, and stuff.

The only problem is those dam pancakes and smores. :yum:

I did pack some carrots and celery, but I have the feeling the naughty snacks will get the best of me.

Mmmm!  I love pancakes.  See if you can get some whole wheat flour and make them from scratch.  I tried that just after we came back from vacation and they were great.  Put some blueberries in them.  Yes, they're pancakes but healthy ones.

Smores on the other hand...........  I love them too.

Have a great time!

Ok I am cheating just a little by posting this today as yesterday was my weigh in day.  The scale said 189 this morning and it I didn't notice too much yesterday morning because I hadn't put on the light and I think I must have not looked properly.  So a very happy me to be in the 180's is allowing myself to post today and will post my weight again on Friday next week.

Down 2lbs to 163lbs.

Its a loss and I'm finding that a great motivator.  OK so I probably need to drink more water as its probably due to water loss, but I'm finding it easier to have just  slightly smaller portions etc as well as having more water

I don't know how I pulled this off, but this morning I was back down to 124lbs. Yeah! I was going to post my average, but I can't get on that website right now. So, I am taking the 124lbs for this weeks weigh in.

I don't think I will be able to get down as far as I want in this challenge .  This is the second challenge and I still can't get passed the 124lb mark.

Apart fro all of the end of year parties I've gone to, I'm down to 140! I'm so happy, I thought I would balloon up! Anyway, even though I smell like lake water and only got 2 hours of lovely sleep, I feel great! Well...slightly worse because of sunburn, but now that summer is here I can finally work out as MUCH as I want.

Good job to all of you! and congrats to the graduates and the graduates parents! Keep it up guys!

Lots of love:apple:
