TGIF everyone! I also struggle with the weekends so if anyone has any tips on how to get through the weekends without eating what we shouldn't and because we are off our usual routine, please let me know. It seems like I eat really good during the week because I'm working and I bring specified items with me, but when weekends roll around, there are too many things around the house that I find.
My goal this weekend is to not gain a thing! I weigh myself everyday so I'll know how I'm doing. I know sometimes it is not good to weigh yourself every day, but I can't help it. I tried not doing that and it was worse for me.
Anyway, I have to keep thinking that weigh in is on Monday and we have to post our weight that day so hopefully that will keep me motivated.
Good luck everyone!

| My weekend suggestion is that you clean out your house and replace all bad things with fruits and veggies, healthy snacks, sugar free jello and fresh fruits, I know it is hard and it can be expensive, but not any more expensive than a candy bar at a $1.00 a buy. I promise it will not be easy, but that is why they have the slogan "no pain, no gain" Even if you over eat on fruit the first few weekends eat all you want, as long as you don't go for the chips and candy and too much bread. Hang in there it will be worth it. My husband and I are doing this together so it might actually work for me this time. He has a major sweet tooth and is always baking. It seems to me he would always make homemade cookies every time I am doing good, so I ask him to do it with me this time. Good Luck!

it seems to me that if you have more time to eat on the weekends you must also have more time to exercise! Get out and get moving. Each time you are going to eat something not so good for you set the timer for 15 minutes, have a drink of water and then get moving... clean, walk, take two cans of soup and do some arm curls. when the timer beeps see if you still want that snack.. I would guess not!
good luck

Hey Butterball and challengers,
Here's a veggie idea to try. I never thought I liked aspargus before trying this. Buy pkg of Hanover's frozen petite asparagus. (petite is the best). Only about $1.50-2.00. Anyhoo, I throw the whole pkg in a glass casserole with small amt of water and stick it in the microwave (I think it's for 6 mins, see pkg) stir up 1/2 way thru. Drain the asparagus, spray with I can't believe it's not butter spray, salt and pepper and sprinkle with parmesan cheese. It's awesome. The whole pkg is only like 50 cals! Of course + the cals of the butter spray and sprinkle cheese. I figure it ends up to be a total of approx. ONLY 100cals and it's very filling. Try it, you might like it!
Got any ideas like this to share with me? Please pass em on. JoanRenee

Hi guys,
I just wanted to make sure everyone knows about eh General Discussion Forum It is located three forums above this forum. It is a great place for all the stuff that is being discussed in this forum: hoe to get through the weekend, how to satiate the munchies, and veggie recipes. We actually even have a whole recipe section!
I really encourage all of you to check out other forums in addition to this one. Also, posting all your great bits of advice in other forums, member who are not in the challenge, but are still members of CPH, will ALSO benefit.
There is also a forum at the bottom fo the main forum page called Monkey Business whre you can just chat about yourselves, with talking about weight loss and stuff! it is super fun
Thanks for all your comments!

Weighed myself at 300 this morning , and something popped in my scale, so I hope it still works!!! I hope, with the Nutri-system and all, to lose 5 pounds a week, so that would be 40 pounds!!! High hopes I know, but I need to do it!!! (A girlfriend lost 35 in 6 weeks on Nutri-system, so...) -gina

Considering the 29th is the end of the challenge, shouldn't weigh-in day be Friday? -gina

| Just got back from vacation and weighed myself... I'm at 150. I haven't weighed this much for over about a year and a half. Oh well, I'm just more determined. I'd like to be at 140 by the end of the challenge and my ultimate goal is 135. That's just a little over a pound per week.... that's doable. Thanks again for starting this determinedgal!

I don't think it's written in stone when you need to weigh in. I myself like weighing on Mondays. The last week I plan on weighing in on Monday and Friday.

The weigh in day is Monday, because January started on a Monday.
If you have weighed in on, say, thursday, every week for the last three years and it is really going to through you off to change the day, I am sure DG will be understanding about hat BUT
It will make it much easier on DG if we are not all weighing on different days, especially considering how many members this challenge has. Can you imagine the chaos?
So yes, if it at all possible, weigh-ins probably need to be done on Mondays.
(I am going by the last challenge---DG, if you read this and want to contradict me go right ahead. Just thinking it would be rough on you...)

Oh, ok, I was going by that the last challenge, weigh in days were the day that the month started. My mistake.
In that case, I think it would be best to weigh in Monday...because that is the arbitrary day that DG picked :P (refer to first post)

Did I actually figure out the ticker thing? Well, not quite. I wanted to put pounds on it, not just BMI. Back to the drawing board, I quess. I'm too close to the goal I picked. Should I lower the goal......or eat more?

I posted a couple days ago that I wasn't sure my scale was working. Someone gave me a good suggestion: Go to Walmart and weigh on their scale. There was only one problem: That nice old guy who usually says: "Welcome to Walmart"........you know the one I mean? Well, he didn't understand that I didn't want the extra weight of clothes or shoes! (LOL)

Hi everyone, and welcome to all the new folks. I'm back from vacation and it's a good thing I'm well rested. It looks like I'll be needing lots of energy to keep up with this challenge.
I've read all 16 pages of this challenge thread and come up with a list of 86 participants!!! There are a few people who said they wanted to participate but did not list their beginning weight and how much they wanted to lose, so if that was you, please post now.
Wow! 86 participants. That's about quadruple the last challenge. FANTASTIC.
So, later today I will post the list (alphabetically) and we'll be ready for our first weigh-in and see how everyone is coming along. Thank you for your patience.
DG
PS- A big THANK YOU to voodoodoll for finishing up the last challenge while I was on vacation. She's a doll!!!

Oh, I forgot to post my goal. I now weigh 215 (started at 270 on August 1st...lost 55# by Dec. 31). So my two month goal will be 20#. I want to kick those 200's in the behind and never, ever see them again.
Beginning Jan. 1: 215
Feb. 29th goal: 195

This challenge thing is great. I love reading everyone's notes.
I didn't realize before, but do now, that this challenge is 9 weeks long.
So here's my corrected goal.
My start weight was 155 and I've made my end goal for this challenge - 140.

We have a 24 hour Walmart ....maybe you could try it around 3am?
LUCKY ME -- You could weigh yourself w/clothes and weigh without on the home scale and see how much those clothes weigh. Then subtract that from your "Walmart" weight.

k9mom wrote: coffee creamer is one of my weaknesses. Especially the original dry powder Coffee Mate. I love the stuff. Have tried to wean myself off it many times, but just can't do coffee black. Call me wierd.....holy cow these fonts are big...sorry
I also used to LOVE the creamers... Recently, I discovered the SILK soy milk! At first I was not sure that I even want to try the stuff, but I after I added to my coffee one morning...I was sold on it. It is soooo creamy! I am not sure how many calories it has but it can be that much.... You might want to give it a try!

~Hi All~
Just wondering if there is anyone who would like to keep in touch and keep each other motivated through this challange? My goal right now is to lose 20 lbs. I'm currently at 246.
My biggest problems are keeping on track with the exercising and watch the unhealthy snacking (and eating before bed).
It doesn't matter what weight your at, how much you want to lose or gender. I just need to stay MOTIVATED!!!!

To the left of the post is the Author of the post. Mine will say CCKat. If you click on it, it gives you various options..one of which is to send a private message to the person.
At the top of the web page on the right about 1 inch down, you see "logged in as EmyW-no new messages OR it could say 1 new message. click there to read your private emails.
GOOD LUCK
Hope this helps for you and others reading this.

Hi Angel 44, I too need someone to help keep me motivated. I am starting out at 200 and want to get down to 175 by the end of Feburary. I too have a problem with the late night snacking. I do great during the day and watch what I eat and eat only healthy stuff, but when I get home and get settled in for some TV watching, I begin to search for snack foods even though I just finished supper.
I have found that if I eat some fruit and drink some of the Silk Very Vanilla milk at night it helps to satisfy that sweet craving I am having. The Silk Very Vanilla is like a milk shake. It has 130 calories per cup, which is not too bad compared to a handful of Hershey kisses I would rather have.
As far as exercise, I just got a treadmill and so far I have walked 20-30 minutes per day. I also will get back to Curves at least 3 times a week and I also bought the Biggest Loser workout DVD. I made it through the 5 minutes warm up on that on. I will have to start out slow and work up to a full work out.
I hope you have a terrific day and believe you can do this. Keep telling yourself this is good for me, this is good for me.

One idea I had was that if TV triggers eating, then maybe don't watch TV. Find other activities at night that make the time pass and aren't triggers. As deviant an idea as that sounds, I found that the things that trigger eating are the problem, not the eating itself.
Sounds like you are on a great track to health. Keep up the good work. Ne

Current weight: 150

I just had a hysterectomy and I'm limited to walking for excerise for about 4 more weeks, so I really need to watch what I eat!

Any weight loss this week is going to be appreciated! It has been 45 degrees here (last week below 30) so if I don't go for a walk the next 3 days, I am not going to! My plans was to go to the mall to walk but maybe I do not need to! :)) Notice my double chin :)). It's gotta go!

What a great idea to have challenges! I started this challenge when I get the email but could only get here today.
My beginning weight was 172!!!
My goal weight is 155.
After doing Eat to Live for the past 6 days, I'm down to 165...and now the REAL work begins!

Thanks! I'm glad the forum is still here. Sure looks nice....and busy!
I know we all can DO this. The way I find easiest is to focus on loving myself. When I forget to keep the focus, then I can easily contaminate and poison my body...like I've been doing for the past few months.
Off to read all the great stuff here. I'll post here again next Sunday.
