Since the Sept. 1st challenge is drawing close and closer to an end, I though I'd toss up a challenge :3
This will run from Sept 1st all the way through to Oct 31st.
It's candy season, so beware!

I weigh 258.4 today and I will weigh 239 by October 31. So that's 19.4 pounds to lose.

Hello Storm! I want to join! I was so happy to see that you started a new challenge. This is great! I now weigh 143 lbs and I wouldn't be surprised if I still weigh that when you post your first list, but I'll "declare" it for now. So my goal weight would be 136.6 I seem to do better at a slow steady pace.
Fun! A Halloween challenge!

I weigh 270 lbs. Now that's scary!!! I would like to lose 5% by Halloween. That is 13.5 lbs., but I'm rounding it up to 15 lbs. Oh yeah, count me in!!!

I've been slacking in the September 1st challenge because I haven't been doing very well. No weight loss in awhile. Blah.
Now I'm trying to quit smoking on Saturday. THIS Saturday!!! So I'm concerned about gaining weight. I want to loose and am going to use the better lung capacity to increase aerobic activity. For this reason, I'll say by then I would like to weigh 165. I hope it's less, but I was insane when I declared my goal for the Sept 1st one. I need to loose about 12 lbs to reach this particular goal.

Count me in too! I will post my official weight on September 1st after the challenge is complete. I would like to lose 8 pounds which will put me around 137 (depending on my official weight at the conclusion of the Sept. 1st Challenge.)
This is my first week of my last year of college and it is EXTREMELY stressful. I am really hoping that this challenge and the wonderful support of the gang helps me reach my goal. Thanks Storm

No prob. Good luck with quitting smoking! I have an aunt who's just recently (within the past year or so) quit, so I know how hard it can be. Hopefully it'll be easier for you to quit then it was for my aunt.

Yea, I heard that the closer people get to their goals and ideal weight, the harder it is to lose those last few pounds.

I've weighed in this morning and have to change my numbers because I now weigh 254. My goal for Halloween is 234. That would make it an even 20#.

Okay, People, It's day one, Post/Note (whichever you prefer) your Final goals and Starting Weights (since some of you posted them a few days before) so I can have the final starting list be current and up-to-date.   Hi All! I'm feeling pretty good. I first listed my starting weight as 270 lbs. Well, that was two weeks ago. I got on the scale this morning, and now I weigh 265 lbs. A loss of 5 lbs.!!!  WooHoo! So, my new starting weight is 265 and my new loss goal by Halloween is 20 lbs. Goal weight is 245!!! What the heck--I'm going for it!!! If you don't mind, I plan to weigh myself every 2 weeks. That weekly weigh-in thing I've done over the years has only disappointed me and got me off track. Every two weeks is a better mindset for me. Much more doable! My regimen pretty much started at the beginning of the summer. Food is a combo of Weight Watchers (counting 30 points is way easier than counting calories) and Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle (BFFM). Five small meals with each containing a protein. When I do carbs it's whole and brown everything--bread, rice, tortillas, etc. Fruits, veggies, and water are main staples. I use a journal to write down what I eat DAILY! I've missed a day here and there, but I've been on-task with it. My exercise has now become a habit--I teach, so summer is a great time to start anew. Walking, the stationary bike, a free weights exercise workout every other day, and Tae Bo a few times a week. I use to calculate how many calories I burn daily. I write it down daily in my food journal page. Seeing how many calories burned thru exercise each day is very rewarding, life-affirming, and so concrete. I see those numbers and I want to keep on going. Remember, make all that a habit. It takes 30 days to break a habit and 30 days to institute a new one. Now that school has started I have committed myself to get up early to do the exercise bike for 20 minutes each morning--with my weight that's 510 calories burned (very vigorous) before my first cup of coffee. Not bad, huh? So far, I've made the commitment. In conclusion, I really look forward to this challenge. I will not waiver, and I know you will all do the same. Thanks for listening to my rants. Ooh...I think I should add this side note so i don't offend anybody--
Gag on the 140 is because I used to could claim 134...and then I...well, obviously I invested more time in fast food and moose tracks than in walking on the treadmill 
I just didn't want to offend anyone...by saying that 140 is gag. It is gag for me because I should be doing better...

Hi Storm,
I would like to join your challenge. I learned a lot about myself in the last challenge, even though my weight went up instead of down. But, with these new lessons I hope to loose instead of gain.
My starting weight is 226lbs, I would like to be at 206lbs by Halloween. I am hoping that a 2lb weight loss a week is realistic but we will see.

And no, Sassykat, I havn't been ghost-hunting since my trip to West Virginia. I miss it already, it's like a second home T-T
There's no 'set' date to check in, since life can get in the way, but preferably every seven days would be great. If you can't do that, don't sweat it and do it when you can or whatever your personal preference is.

I definitely need to start the Halloween Challenge.........and it will be a challenge!
Sept. 5 weight: 175.6 lbs
Goal for Halloween: that's about 8 weeks..........I'm going to shoot for the stars and set 15 lbs for my goal, which would put me at 160.6 lbs

I don't think 112 is an unhealthy weight for you, the BMI calc on this site puts that on the lower half of "normal" for that, so it's probably good.
I don't know if you can lose ten pounds in eight weeks though---just because, be honest, 122 isn't a super high weight, so the closer you are to being at the healthy weight for you, the harder it is to get there (so I'm told)
But hey, go for the gold, and even if you don't get quite that low, any progress will be progress, right?
