Nir, what types of foods are you not counting calories for?
I'm wondering if I can have "free foods" as well.
Any relatively trivial sources of calories. In general this means:
any vegetables
fresh fruits (not fruit juice or dried fruit)
beans
starchy vegetables
meat and fish (because I happen to generally only consume it in trivial amounts, like 1oz-1.5oz servings)
anything that is less than 200 calories per 100g (3.5 oz) is likely to fit into this category.
however, if something is going to be non-trivially consumed then I'll count it. For example last week some 1.5 kilos (~3.5 pounds) of commercially prepared "bean salad" was purchased at a discount which meant it was going to be a significant part of my caloric intake - so I found a way to count it in my "gram system".

I've been on '400g' since March 17th (with exception of 3 all-you-can-eat days when it's anybody's guess). Averaged weight holding steady. Actual weight at 53kg in recent days. Energy levels usually acceptable, but notably higher on those extra-eating days. Will keep at 400g for a little while longer before chancing another increase.

Yay! Still moving down. I've tried to move my body a bit more this week but most of my time is spent sitting on the couch feeding the baby. Oh well, at least that burns calories.

I can't remember what my last weigh in was, but on Friday I was back down to 126lb.
I'm getting back into running so even though the scales aren't moving much, I feel like my body is changing... it's hard to judge without a mirror though, so maybe it's wishful thinking.

On Tuesday (March 27th) there was a spot decision to increase intake to '450g'. This of course did not apply to Saturday (Pizza Hut buffet and therefore a 'mystery day') and to a certain extent I was guesstimating on Sunday when I was served various junk whilst visiting a friend (I estimated it at '200g' - did not use a scale). Counter-intuitively my weight continues to slip slightly but as ever this is not an urgent problem. It is a luxuary problem. Just need to remember to be willing to scale back those grams if my weight starts creeping ABOVE my goal weight. This is all about the contribution those uncounted grams (i.e. produce and protein) and possibly to a certain extent what I 'naturally' do on those completely uncounted days (like Saturday).
Maybe I have also turned a corner with regard to slow and fast eating. Yes I still think food should be chewed well but if slow eating will cause me to spend all day eating then this might not be compatible with other activities, so I will let it go on my busier days without a fuss.

The baby has been sleeping solid for 4 hours in a row every night which has given me the energy to walk around and be active during the day again. It's funny how I normally need 9 hours of sleep to feel at my best but suddenly 4 hours seems like a beautiful luxury. Oh well, I remember that this time goes very quickly. Because of this increase in sleep I did really well on the weight loss front.

Yesterday (April 8th) there was a spot decision to increase intake to '500g' (I started this challenge still eating '300g' which was a newly establish pattern after eating even less). There is a parallel between what I am doing and the programme detailed in Leigh Peele's "Metabolism Repair Manual", a gradual increase in calories to have my body get used to more calories after a period of under-eating (in my case caused by the insistence of not counting calories which has led to largely cutting out the grains food group). 500g should give me 2000-2500 calories (depending on what I eat) and this is in addition to uncounted foods (for example my fruit and vegetables).
A Male, 39, 5'5", 116lb man with a normal (non-depressed) metabolism requires 1642 calories to maintain their weight with no exercise, so there are extra calories here to power a certain amount of exercise and/or facilitate some weight gain.
Two all-you-can-eat meals featured during this period - Monday and Thursday. Thursday was Red Hot World Buffet - a familiar haunt where I can over-indulge on sweets but where I can get all the salad I desire so I can still fill up on this. Monday was a lot more challenging - the Zen Garden chineese buffet turns out to have very few "safe" veggy options - almost everything is potentially swimming in oil (and certainly is heavily salted).
I am still sometimes a little weak and tired. The 30-odd hours immediately following the Thursday buffet were absolutely great - for example I had great time at the Body Jam class and 4 hours of nightclubbing on the Thursday evening - by Sunday morning (back on the 450g routine) I was described by a friend as 'looking tired'.
At this point in the challenge I am (finally) showing a slight gain (though at this point I have over 3lb to gain in 3 weeks so I doubt I'll achieve that).

I lost quite a bit of weight this week but then gained most of it back eating too much maple glazed ham, stuffing and bread sauce. It's not the chocolate that is usually my downfall it's the carbs and fat. Oh well, the holidays are past so it's time to get serious about my health again.

Gosh my weight has gone up and down on a daily basis. The fluctuations were so much I didn't know what to post today. So I took an average of the last 7 days and came up with...
134.25 lbs.
Since I have just started working full time, I have not had a chance to count calories or watch what I eat. I'm still hoping to get back to that. Trying to eat healthy on the go is going to be a challenge.

Another bad week Why is it so hard to stay on track when travelling or entertaining houseguests?
Will definitely have to kick my butt and be extra diligent this week.

I've been "on 500g" since April 8th. Lacking energy for workouts is becoming a distant memory and that's how I prefer it. I still want to gain more confidence at this intake before going any further. Ultimately I am conflicted about whether I want to gain weight unless it is muscle weight - I don't need any fat weight. So slow gain is the thing. There is no rush. Having the energy to work out and dance is far more important (and I am not underweight - I would not let myself go there). Slow and steady wins the race.
