It's almost time for the next challenge, everyone!
Here are the guidelines for the Holiday weight loss challenge (similar to those of the previous ones):
- The challenge will run from Tuesday November 1st through Saturday December 31st
- You may join the challenge at any time beginning November 1st, and late-comers are most welcome. You can even join the challenge in December. To join the challenge, post your height, starting weight and goal weight.
You may choose any goal you like. But if your goal is to lose more than 18 pounds during the challenge period -- more than two pounds a week -- please explain why you think your goal is realistic.
This website is dedicate to healthy, common sense, lasting weight loss, and does not support crash diets which do not have realistic expectations of producing long-term results.

Your height will be used to display your BMI. Disclosing your height is optional but as incentive to share your height with us, unless told your height I'll just assume you are 5' (1.52m).
- Pick a day for your weekly weigh-in, and stick to it a closely as you can. Then post your current weight each week -- or as often as you would like!

- Those who are not losing weight, and those who are gaining, will receive praise for continuing to participate. It's so easy to run and hide! We've all been there ourselves.
We also know that by participating, they are very likely doing better than they otherwise would be.
- The results will be updated every Monday (or more often) and posted right here just below these instructions, so they will always be easy to find.
We want the challenge stats to be realistic and reflect active challenge members, so anyone not posting for two consecutive weeks will be dropped from the list. But they will be put right back on the next week should they post again.
If you need to withdraw from the challenge, please have the courtesy to post a farewell note or send me a Private Message (PM). Your name will be removed.
- You are encouraged to share how you are doing during the challenge, and especially to give each other support. However, to make it easier for me to find your weekly weight, please make sure your weight stands out.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to post them or send me a PM.

hello everyone :)
im in for this challenge, but not really to do a super loss, but rather to just manage thru the holidays with my surgery impending on the left hip, and small fractures to my left upper ribcage from my auto accident, my activity is and will have to decrease, so i am just going to try to manage between 154-160 thru January. If I do that, then I am happy. :)

OK, I would like to join this challenge. I have really not done well over the past several months...actually I have been gaining for basically the past year so I am not back up to my original weight and have a long way to go to get back to goal. But if I don't start then it's that much longer so I will join. Sorry to be late to the party.
I am going to post my starting weight as it was on Monday, the 7th becusae that is when I started again.
- Current weight 187.4
- Goal weight 175.4
- Height 63"
- Weigh in day will be Monday

was on a break from my diet......lot of going on....festival......vacation ....thus the result
started a cycle of fl4i today so definitely better result next week.

Down 5.2 pounds! I know that is only becuase of this is my first week and I usually get a nice bump but nevertheless it is 5 pounds gone and that makes me feel pretty good. I do feel in control of my eating for the first time in a very long time.

Patchers, I've kept mostly to the diary section for sometime now. Funny how we get to be creatures of habit. But joining this challenge has done wonders for my focus!

Welcome to the challenge TeeMontana. These challenges can be motivating and help a person with a little more focus.
I would recommend going a little easier with your goal. If you set it high and make it very hard to achieve then you are setting yourself up for disappointment.
I like to make my goal doable that way I can actually achieve it and feel good about it. If I go beyond that then wonderful. If we can achieve small goals that fuels us on to keep going.
