I was reducing counted calories by 100 every 2 weeks (from 1600 to 1200)
I am now reducing them by 100 every 1 week (900 as of today)
I expect results

I also wanted to say I think my goal is realistic because I just started exercising again and am currently in the "honeymoon" period of weight loss due to excess water weight, etc. So I do expect to lose a lot these first few weeks. I am eating pretty normally (just less of the "extras") and doing this the healthy way. No crash diets for me!

As of last Friday I have dropped all the stops - I am no longer counting calories. Yes I realise how odd that statement sounds I should explain the context is that I have been eating the healthiest of foods (vegetables, beans, fruit) and supplementing with extra calories and those extra calories were provided as a means to artificially control (and for a while, gain) weight. This year I have become willing to eat more of the healthy foods without counting it and it now makes sense to stop counting the calorie-dense foods.

There are secondary implications to this decision - it means that grains are now minimised in my diet - currently just a "handful" of oats and of muesli (yes, measure with that reliable implemnt, the hand). I am expecting a deficit and I'm expecting progress even during this challenge period.

(yes, scale still moving in the wrong direction...)

Mixed emotions about this week. I'm finally seeing some nice shoulder, arm, and chest definition/striations, getting a hint of abs starting to appear at the top, and have some nice vascularity showing in my legs, arms and shoulders.

On the flip side, weight loss this week was almost nill and didn't even amount to a pound.

been a tough road the last few weeks, news about hip and stomach are keeping me down and resting, but i am really trying not to lose heart and give in to these small setbacks. I pray that I will be back on my feet before holidays set in, because its just gonna get harder with all the "goodies" floating around!!!

Hi John and welcome to the challenge, if you'd like to be included in the table please say how much you hope to be on October 31st and give your height.

Yes, a downward trend at last! Too late to meet goal for the challenge but I'm confident I'll make it by the end of the year.

Did hit 120 one day, so I'm happy with this.  I really appreciate the motivation these challenges provide to make me get back on track.

My averaged-weight did not hit goal, but I did turn things around during the challange period and my actual weight had even (for one day) dipped below goal. I am confident that I know what I'm doing and can 'move the goal posts' for the next one.

This challenge, I let my usual roadblocks get the better of me. Next challenge, I am also confidant that I will make better food choices and not let my emotions "run" me. My goal is for a slow, steady weight loss towards a healthy BMI. Good luck to all on reaching our goals!
