no matter how hard i am working right now, i am not losing. todays weight is 161.0

i have been up as high as 164 last week, and came back down. yo yoing in a terrible way. trying the BC diet, that Hiker is doing, but havent been committed fully until today. Started and stopped from Thurs to yesterday. Life gets in the way sometimes. Trying new things and changing things isnt always easy. Its tough to go from countin calories to not and to not eating fruits. I love my fruit. I keep telling myself that i can still do this BC diet, and have the small amounts of things i like like milk, yogurt, butter for cooking, and minimal amounts of wheat bread or crackers but i am not sure it will work. i really dont want to eliminate those few things because of having a family enjoying my food that i do eat and trying not to make myself miserable. I love to have those things at times, and other times i can go for weeks without eating them at all. I am not eating large amounts daily, so i struggle with learning why i am gaining and fluctuating so much.

i feel like i am working out enough, i do a daily routine of strength with cardio, for at least 40min. i dont drink alcohol, i dont smoke. i am only taking one presc. drug for my PCOS now, along with vitamins. I drink plenty of water, and i only have the sugar free drink mix or a glass of milk at other times. Not often I will enjoy a soda because well, i love a good cold Coke sometimes, but its not like i used to be way back when. I just cant figure out what i need to do!

i do know i wont give up. i wont give in. i am going to keep watching it and i am also seeing my doctor in sept. maybe she can help. last time i saw her she told me to stop dieting and enjoy being the weight i was. which ironically, was 163. LOL...

This is my post for yesterday (Tuesday).

CW 53.07kg (116.9lb) LW 53.29kg (117.4lb) SW 52.39kg (115.4lb). This week a loss of 0.22kg (0.48lb). For the challenge a gain of 0.68kg (1.50lb).

I've also averaged my weight readings for each of the last 7 day periods. In reverse order (starting this week) they work out 52.86 53.43 53.50 52.71 53.14. So although the physicsdiet moving average for the period 14 days ago to 7 days ago showed a mild gain, the actual daily weights were a loss. This is unusual (usually they are in step).

Bottom line: after 2 weeks at 2000 I'm increasing counted calories to 2050 and will weather the storm. I probably won't have hit my goal for the challenge but as stability returns I'll play with higher intakes (or possibly further develop my not-counting-calories system, if I see merit in this)

Here is a pretty graph.

Later on today I'll start a new challenge and update the table for this one.

CW 52.67kg (116.0lb) LW 53.07kg (116.9lb) SW 52.39kg (115.4lb). This week a loss of 0.4kg (0.88lb). For the challenge a gain of 0.28kg (0.62lb).

Short term conclusion - I have allowed water weight fluctuations, which were 'scarey' at the time, to dictate my calorie levels. I won't be hard on myself because this was the 2 month period when I first introduced the concept of not counting calories and I still managed a modest gain over the period. Calories going up to 2,100 from today with a view to not increasing/decreasing by more than 50 per week. Slow and steady wins the race.

123.4lb

A little disappointing as a final weigh in, especially as yesterday I weighed in at 122.4lb and food was good. I even did weights - which is probably why I weighed heavier today. I'll bear that in mind next challenge. ;)

But major positive - I'm now entering uncharted territory! I'm the lowest I've been in at least six years and I can't sense myself losing momentum any time soon.

Well done everyone!

Final weigh in...No Change

So I ended this challenge with a gain of one pound.  Now you would think in 2 months a person could loose a little.  However, it could be worse.

Thanks Nir and congrats to all of you who did well and the rest of us, we will do better next time.

Cheerio

hello all! hey maggie, i WISH i could only say i have a gain of 1pd. I am coming in today at

165.8 THAT FOR ME IS A 9.5pd GAIN from the start of this challenge.

I havent been up this high since last June in 09..
I am considering stopping challenges for a while simply because this emotional crushing reality that i am not succeeding right now...except for regular exercise i am not being consistent in much else.

here is a twist, how about i get an award for THE HIGHEST GAIN instead of the HIGHEST LOSS? LMAO.......not that i am proud, but come on everyone, how easy is it to gain in a challenge? lol....can i just crawl into a hole or a cave and hide for awhile? lol.....:nono::confused::crying::dizzy::chewing:

Ahhh BJ,  don't become discouraged.  I have started reading your diary from the  beginning and you have done so well.  This is just a temporary set back.  You can do it,  I know you can and me too,

I wonder sometimes where I would be without the challenges.  They do keep us accountable.

Hey BJD, don't let the gain discourage you so much. You know that you can't possibly gain nearly 5 lb of fat in just one week. It's got to be mostly water. Hang in there and I'm sure you'll see your weight loss even out.
