It's almost time for the next challenge, everyone!
Here are the guidelines for the Easter Spring Fling Thing weight loss challenge (similar to those of the previous ones):
- The challenge will run from Monday March 1st through Friday April 30th
- You may join the challenge at any time beginning March 1st, and late-comers are most welcome. You can even join the challenge in April.
- To join the challenge, post your height, starting weight and goal weight.
You may choose any goal you like. But if your goal is to lose more than 18 pounds during the challenge period -- more than two pounds a week -- please explain why you think your goal is realistic.
This website is dedicate to healthy, common sense, lasting weight loss, and does not support crash diets which do not have realistic expectations of producing long-term results.
For more information, please see the Tutorial and the forum topic The Most Likely Reason Your Diet Will Fail.
Your height will be used to display your BMI. Disclosing your height is optional but as incentive to share your height with us, unless told your height I'll just assume you are 5' (1.52m).
- Pick a day for your weekly weigh-in, and stick to it a closely as you can. Then post your current weight each week -- or as often as you would like!
You may wish to read: How Often Should You Weigh Yourself
Those who are not losing weight, and those who are gaining, will receive praise for continuing to participate. It's so easy to run and hide! We've all been there ourselves.
We also know that by participating, they are very likely doing better than they otherwise would be.
- The results will be updated every Friday (or more often) and posted right here just below these instructions, so they will always be easy to find.
We want the challenge stats to be realistic and reflect active challenge members, so anyone not posting for two consecutive weeks will be dropped from the list. But they will be put right back on the next week should they post again.
If you need to withdraw from the challenge, please have the courtesy to post a farewell note or send me a Private Message (PM). Your name will be removed.
- You are encouraged to share how you are doing during the challenge, and especially to give each other support. However, to make it easier for me to find your weekly weight, please make sure your weight stands out.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to post them or send me a PM.

Height-- 63"
Current Weight--124.1
Goal Weight--123
Weigh in day will be --Tuesday.
I doubt I will make my goal as my trainer is intent on me putting on more muscle and she wants me to increase my calorie but I still want to stay in the challenge as I know it is instrumental in keeping me honest. And if I never get out of the puprle or fall into the pink...oh well, I'll survive.

Well, I had a major pig out over the weekend and gain a few pounds. So, sign me up Nir! I need to get my emotions under control and quit messing up my diet plans. I know I can lose the weight, just need to do it.
current weight 145lbs.
goal weight 135lbs.
height 64"
That's 5lbs a month. Should be doable. I am expecting the first few pounds to go well since I put them on fast, should come off fast. Hoping that's how it will go.
Almost forgot...weigh in day for me will be mondays.... Ha! now I have to be good over the weekends...

I resisted calling this the Nir's Birthday Challenge (I will be 37 on April 30th). So here we go: hi Nir, I'd like to join. 5'6". SW is 52.92 (116.6lb). GW is 54.38 (119.8lb) - so I'm aiming to gain 3.2lb over 2 months (+2.7%), or 0.37lb a week. The challenge ends on Friday (again - my birthday!) so I'll weigh in on Fridays. I very recently restored calories from 2000 to 2025 and if I don't detect a change soon they'll be going up again. I started my weight gain journey on September 1st - here is a graph.

| It occurred to me that another way to express my goal is that I'm aiming for a BMI of 20 (which was my stated goal 4 years, when I was coming at it from the other direction). I've now created a challenge results table.

| Nir, I think it is a great idea to set a BMI goal for yourself. I may do that next time around, assuming I am still pretty much where I want to be. I know as I build muscle I am going to gain weight but as long as the BMI is where I want it to be then all is good. Anyway...great idea for anyone at or below goal "weight" but still wanting a goal.

hello everyone! please count me in for this challenge! I love its cute name! :) Very creative and inspiring Nir! :)

Its been a highly stressful time for me this past week or so, due to moving my gramas house into two houses, with limited time, means, patience, money etc......and i am wiped out today. There is soo much more to do, and we are goin back tomorrow with the big trailer, but its not over after that either! lol...will it ever been over? So, considering this, i am happy to be at 155!! :)

Hey Midge, I just changed to firefox cause after doing some restore work on my computer my explorer wouldn't work. So, I am using this browser and really like it so far.
Ok, weigh in this morning was 144lbs. Not real sure how I managed to get a pound off since I wasn't very good the last few days. I wasn't terrible but did have a major pig out on peanuts one day.
But, a pound is a pound and I will take it.....

Not bad considering I was sick the last 4 days and haven't worked out since Thursday. I'm probably a day away from feeling normal again, so I think this will be the week I get rid of the 2.

the scale was being difficult this morning, so the average i got was about
138
not awful, especially considering the last two days, but i expect a large drop next week. oh, and i am going to change my weigh-in days to fridays...

I've gained 15-20lbs during the time I was gone... I was at my heaviest EVER. I've just recently brought my weight back down to 116lbs. Hoping to return to the weight I was at before my binging streak!

Current weight 122.9 .
So I am at goal but I am not getting overly excited because truthfully during this challenge I think I am going to be going up and down a lot trying to find the right spot for me. I am working more with weights and I expect my weight to go up but the trick is to put on muscle, not fat.
I know when you are trying to loose it doesn't seem like a big deal to maintain but I have lost 60 pounds and I find maintaining every bit as hard. It would be nice if this could be easy but I guess that's life....so I need to suck it up and deal with it since it is going to be something I deal with for the rest of my life.

I'm going to say I have a weigh-in day of Tuesdays, but I usually just end up weighing in approximately at the beginning of the week or whenever my weight drops haha

hey all,
well, i am very proud of myself to say that i am at 155 today. This will be my official posting weighin for this week. Since the challenge, i have binged a bit on chocolate eastery candy types of things and shot back up to 159, so to work it all back off again is a great achievement for me and i am very happy about it. I am learning that i can stop myself and get back on track, its not always easy but i dont lose control indefinately, as i used too! (so in my mind, i am considering that i went up to 159 gaining 4, and then came back to 155 losing 4, so i am doing well!)
I feel good today, already got in a 3 mile pilates walk too!
