LCD Soundsystem - North American Scum :grin::grin::grin::grin: Hilarious! And a Grain of Truth.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ieT_lf9wK28

"Oh oh oh
oh i don't know, i don't know, oh, where to begin
we are north americans
and for those of you who still think we're from england
we're not, no.
we build our planes and our trains till we think we might die,
far from North America
where the buildings are old and you might have lots of mimes.
aha, oh, oh.
i hate the feelin' when you're looking at me that way
cause we're north americans
but if we act all shy, it'll make it ok
makes it go away."

Machine Head- Seasons Wither

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UOJBJBH-GkE

"
The taste of avenging blood
Suffer horror she's with stood
Disgust, the core of her soul
The crime takes a new toll
Rapes the soul

Hear her pain
Listen
To what she'd scream
I'm gonna see you bleeding
Face down in the dirt
I'm gonna give you back what
You've taken with hurt
You coward
I'm gonna spit right into you face
In grace you'll be no more

This scar makes her heart stronger
Your breath makes her days longer
Life gained through your dying eyes
Revenge, life's bitter prize
Feel reprise

Hear her pain
And listen
To what she'd scream
I'm gonna see you bleeding
Face down in the dirt
I'm gonna give you back what
You've taken with hurt
You coward
I'm gonna spit right into you face
In grace you'll be no more

The seasons wither away
The seasons wither away
The seasons wither away
The seasons wither away

And we pray you die (and we pray you die)
We pray you suffocate (suffocate)
In pain you writhe (in pain you writhe)
This day we celebrate (celebrate)
This day we celebrate (this day we celebrate)
Desecrate

This mind and body
This heart and soul
Will not be trampled
Will not crumble
You can't hurt me (hurt me)
Your power's control denied
And you can't rape me (rape me)
That moment's effect has died
You're a #%@&!ing shell that's dead in my eyes
Dead!
Dead!

song of the moment?  it's been in my head and on the radio frequently.  it's a chill tune
Dock of the Bay- otis redding

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UCmUhYSr-e4

Sittin' in the mornin' sun
I'll be sittin' when the evenin' come
Watching the ships roll in
And then I watch 'em roll away again, yeah

I'm sittin' on the dock of the bay
Watching the tide roll away
Ooo, I'm just sittin' on the dock of the bay
Wastin' time

I left my home in Georgia
Headed for the 'Frisco bay
'Cause I've had nothing to live for
And look like nothin's gonna come my way

So I'm just gonna sit on the dock of the bay
Watching the tide roll away
Ooo, I'm sittin' on the dock of the bay
Wastin' time

Look like nothing's gonna change
Everything still remains the same
I can't do what ten people tell me to do
So I guess I'll remain the same, yes

Sittin' here resting my bones
And this loneliness won't leave me alone
It's two thousand miles I roamed
Just to make this dock my home

Now, I'm just gonna sit at the dock of the bay
Watching the tide roll away
Oooo-wee, sittin' on the dock of the bay
Wastin' time

right now?  at this very moment

this is for you, A, whereever those f*ing stars might find you....

"Let us be lovers we'll marry our fortunes together"
"I've got some real estate here in my bag"
So we bought a pack of cigarettes and Mrs. Wagner pies
And we walked off to look for America

"Kathy," I said as we boarded a Greyhound in Pittsburgh
"Michigan seems like a dream to me now"
It took me four days to hitchhike from Saginaw
I've gone to look for America

Laughing on the bus
Playing games with the faces
She said the man in the gabardine suit was a spy
I said "Be careful his bowtie is really a camera"

"Toss me a cigarette, I think there's one in my raincoat"
"We smoked the last one an hour ago"
So I looked at the scenery, she read her magazine
And the moon rose over an open field

"Kathy, I'm lost," I said, though I knew she was sleeping
I'm empty and aching and I don't know why
Counting the cars on the New Jersey Turnpike
They've all gone to look for America
All gone to look for America
All gone to look for America

and while we are on the subject of songs that stir your soul....

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-IwYQ1Vqf_4

Tom, get your plane right on time.
I know your part'll go fine.
Fly down to mexico.
Da-n-da-da-n-da-n-da-da and here I am,
The only living boy in new york.
I get the news I need on the weather report.
I can gather all the news I need on the weather report.
Hey, Ive got nothing to do today but smile.
Da-n-da-da-n-da-da-n-da-da here I am
The only living boy in new york

Half of the time were gone but we dont know where,
And we dont know here.

Tom, get your plane right on time.
I know youve been eager to fly now.
Hey let your honesty shine, shine, shine
Da-n-da-da-n-da-da-n-da-da
Like it shines on me
The only living boy in new york,
The only living boy in new york.

The Songs We Were Singing- Paul McCartney

FOR A WHILE, WE COULD SIT, SMOKE A PIPE,
AND DISCUSS ALL THE VAST INTRICACIES OF LIFE.
WE COULD JAW THROUGH THE NIGHT,
TALK ABOUT A RANGE OF SUBJECTS, ANYTHING YOU LIKE, OH YEAH.

BUT WE ALWAYS CAME BACK TO THE SONG WE WERE SINGING
AT ANY PARTICULAR TIME.
YEAH, WE ALWAYS CAME BACK TO THE SONG WE WERE SINGING
AT ANY PARTICULAR TIME.

TAKE A SIP, SEE THE WORLD THROUGH A GLASS
AND SPECULATE ABOUT THE COSMIC SOLUTION.
TO THE SOUND, BLUE GUITARS,
CAUGHT UP IN A PHILOSOPHICAL DISCUSSION, OH YEAH.

BUT WE ALWAYS CAME BACK TO THE SONG WE WERE SINGING
AT ANY PARTICULAR TIME.
YEAH, WE ALWAYS CAME BACK TO THE SONG WE WERE SINGING
AT ANY PARTICULAR TIME.

FOR A WHILE, WE COULD SIT, SMOKE A PIPE,

(gonna post the lyrics, but you HAVE TO HEAR THE SONG!  the music nails me every time).

Stick with us, throw your morals out the door
You aren't in the land of the river and the lake no more
Makeshift schemes, we've got plenty here for you
Lock away your dreams and throw away the key

You've been stuck in the middle of patience and animosity
With a lust for solidity, and a cryptic history your lucks running thin

Crimson hands, brandish words which masquerade
If you flee from grace your souls can not be saved
This scene shifts, exits illustrate the flood
Don't be ashamed of your unlawful flaw
When the bombs go off you'll know right where you are

You've been stuck in the middle of patience and animosity
With a lust for solidity, and a cryptic history your lucks running thin

You've been stuck in the middle of patience and animosity
With a lust for solidity, and a cryptic history your lucks running thin

This isn't my current favorite song...

BUT, if you like metal/rock, I thought I'd share these with you because nobody has ever heard of this band...and they are really good! It's southern metal...

Its kinda ironic, but the lead singer could really use this site...

The Texas Hippie Coalition

song #1: "P*ssed Off and Mad About it" Hard, heavy, excellent.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zjCtHgNEcV0

song #2: "Leaving" great song, great lyrics, great story:crying:

Today it is  "Until You Come Back to Me,"  Aretha Franklin,

Yesterday it was "Heard it in a Love Song (long version),"   Marshall Tucker Band,

Day before that,  "Who Loves You?,"  Frankie Valli

Depends on what's on the radio that day....

This is perhaps the GREATEST SONG I HAVE EVER HEARD; I cannot stop listening to it!

HELLRAZOR, you need to hear this one. When I learn this one on my Ibanez RG-570, I will be the SH*T!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0ZyhB1-Yb4U&feature=PlayList&p=0F0237A49588250A&playnext=1&playnext_from=PL&index=1

If interested, the song was also covered by a metal band called 'Children Of Bodom' with some harsher vocals:

Here is that link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kmkp2Cap6K8&feature=related

Florence and the machine  "The dogs days are over" I replace dog with dark, it sounds like that anyway. When this track comes on my ipod I always crank up the volume and speed up.

I loved the song Carnival of Rust - Poets of the fall. The first time I heard it was listening to my brother’s iPod. I don’t know the song seems a bit mystical to me.
