$2.15 for unleaded to $2.45 for plus yesterday.
Just gonna float this thought --
I know that high gas prices are painful, but I think it's a short term pain for a long term gain. Because consumers are feeling the pain at the pumps, alternative fuel vehicles have received more attention than ever before. Same for alternative transportation; with the gas crunch, there is a brighter spotlight on buses, light rail, rideshare, bicycling, walking.
I think most people would agree that there are many benefits of getting away from high oil use, even if we don't all agree on which ones: foreign oil dependence, environmental impact, traffic congestion, fossil fuel as a limited resource.
So, while I do cringe at the pump, I think it'll take pain like this to bring about a change that should have happened years ago. But then, I'd rather be riding a horse in the country than driving a car in the city.

hello and happy thanksgiving week!
as for gas prices in Los Lunas NM we are dropping to wonderful, frightening lows.....we peaked this summer at 4.02 and are now down to 1.69 to 1.73. And you get even more discount if you are a Smiths shopper, they sell Gas and you can earn points towards 5-15 cents off per gallon! Imagine a 15 cent disc off of 1.69? woo-hoo!!!!

| I just bought some for $1.65...on a FRIDAY! Well, that's not much of an issue anymore. The price is pretty steady all week. It used to fluctuate 80 cents from thursday to monday.

$1.59 for unleaded yesterday.
Safeway offers fuel rewards also; 10 cents off per gallon for every $100 you buy.
Since I walk to work, my husband rides his motorcycle and we don't drive much otherwise, we manage to avoid getting gas more than once a month. Thus we usually have 30 cents off per gallon just from buying groceries we would have gotten anyway.
