In the '80s I read an article in Newsweek that said that people often say they rarely watch TV to impress people. So I am always conscious of saying that. But I say it all the time!

It's true, except for being totally hooked on watching the world news every evening. And 60 Minutes. And the Antiques Roadshow. And Born to the Manor or Keeping Up Appearances, whichever is on Saturday night on PBS.

And I have to admit that I really have fun watching #%@&!'s Kitchen, I think because I can't cook at all!

But this season I enjoyed every minute of America's Got Talent. And in the end, I totally agreed with who won:

Julienne Irwin was incredible for a 14 year old, but not ready to be a major entertainer.

Butterscotch is also incredibly talented, though I don't enjoy what she does. She's great as a beautiful singer (voice and person), and the beat box is a fun gimmick. But when she puts them together I don't enjoy it at all.

I must say that I didn't really appreciate Cas Haley until his last performance, when I realized what a professional entertainer he was. I don't recall him missing a note in the entire series, and he always had so much fun performing that he's fun to watch.

But I was so happy Terry Fator won because I think he's what the show is all about... entertainment. More than any of the three above, I'm sure I could be totally entertained by him for hours.

He has an amazing voice, and on top of that does it with his mouth closed as a ventriloquist. And he's a great comedian, too!

Selfishly, I wouldn't have minded his getting second place, hoping he'd go on tour and that I could go see him near my home. I'm happy for him that he's got a show in Vegas now, but I won't likely be going to see him anytime soon. That's the downside.

Congrats to Terry! :ribbon:

I -- who "never" watch TV -- can't wait for next season!
