OK been working out for around 4 weeks, 3-5 days per week, cardio and weights, eating healthy 4-5 small meals.
Just got my new scales today weighed myself lost 6 kg (about 12 pounds I think)great BUT my fat% is 37%.......That means before I started losing weight I must of been around 40% that would of made me super obese even at 37% I'm well obese.
Now I'm big yes, 6.1 large frame my weight is 113.3 kg (double it and add a little for pounds so around 240 I guess). 33 male)Im not exacly wobbling all over the place im pritty firm but I do have a bit of a beer gut but I can still get into my 36inch W jeans although there well warn in and I cant do the top button up.
Can this be right I thought maybe 30% but then I'm still obese but 37% damm thats scary Im doing BTFFTM diet or what ever you want to call it life change diet is more like it.
Any ideas if this sounds right I might even put up a picture of me LOL so someone can take a look (nube of course) lol...please any input appriceated. I can give u more info if needed. Thanks for reading.......at 40%fat I should be in a wheel chair but I tell'ya I could run the 100m in a pritty fast time. I just rally hope im not burning muscle but I'll give until next week for my new weigh-in....Thanks again for reading. JON

There are others on the forum much more familiar with body fat reading scales (which is what I'm assuming you're using), but I would be a little suspicious of this reading because it does seem a bit high for your situation.
Did you get any literature with your scale? IE find out what could be causing gross inaccuracies.

Hi thanks for reply,
I have got the manual but its in Swedish I'm in the process of getting an English one.
I have set it up right with age, height, sex I dont think theres anything else to do would sure love a expert on this.
One thing I have done is use my hands and do sort of press up on it that comes out at 17% at 78 kg so that would make more sense so my body fat would be around 25% but I'm sure not taking that as the correct reading. oh well maybe someone will be able to help. As long as it goes down thats the main thing.
cheers

If this is the first time you're dieting the weight lost is probably mostly water.
So, fat loss was minimal.
I'd do some research to see if the reading on such scales is accurate for obese people. I would guess it's not.
Either way, let's hope the weight loss is not muscles.
Be very carefull about that and the rapid weight loss.
If you're not, you'll gain all the weight lost back within a year or two ...
And add 6-7 pounds to that as well.
(Happened to me).
So, make sure you eat enough and keep lifting weights.
Good luck.
