Well, this is my first post here on caloriesperhour.
My name is Emily.
I am 16 years old.
The past year I have gained about 12 lbs due to high school and stress.
I was about 153 lbs in september, but now its nearing 165.
I am 5'5".
I am not comfortable being overweight.
I am afraid of health and social reasons because of it.
So, I am looking to lose 20lbs.
Put myself at 145.
My BMI will be in the healthy range and I'll feel better about myself.
Right now, I am setting "get in shape" goals, rather than weight goals.
I statered running on the treadmill for about half an hour a day this week.
I'd like to add in ab workouts too.
Oh, and also leg toning excercises.
My goal for this is to be able to run 5 miles without stopping and have a flat belly and toned legs- that way I'll be happy with my appearance.
After that, I want to better incorporate diet to decrease my weight while keeping with excercising.

Hi Embem!! We sound pretty alike! I would love to be able to run 5 miles.
I started at my top at 171, but now I am around 139. I would like to get to 120; I am an inch shorter than you.
Being in shape is the best goal, I think.

Hello! I read your message and I thought maybe I could help because I am almost the same age as you and I know exactly what youre dealing with. I moved schools, and states in the middle of tenth grade and my weight jumped. The heaviest I ever got what 168. Unfortunately, I was in complete denile about my weight and what caused it, even though I ate fast food and candy every day.
All of a sudden I realized that I could change myself just by changing my habbits. I know it sounds stupid and people will say that a million times, but to be honest, it just clicked for me one day. I stopped lying to myself by eating food late at night when every one is sleeping, and being gluttoness. I stopped boredom eating. I walk almost everyday, but not crazy-like. A fast paced fun walk. Fortunately I live in a beautiful chunk of florida where wildlife grabs my attention and urges me to keep walking, and the beach is 15 minutes so I could just go there and look for shells.
Anyway, this is very long and I dont want to drag on. I weigh 141 currently. My goal is not set by weight or pantsize. Instead, I'll be happy when I can go to the beach in a bikini and be able to sit up without my belly rolling over or my theighs jiggling when I walk. Not to be confused though, I do where a bikini. I do have some confidence and if people have a problem looking at my you-know-what shaking, well, I'm from NJ so I certainly would have a thing or two to say to that person.
