i'd like to lose about the same amount. so i can relate. but yeah, im 14 and i weigh about 170 but i hold it pretty well, i dont look like i weigh that much. but my doctor tells me im overweight. and i think about it alot and i've been trying a little bit and i lost about 6lbs. i was really proud of myself and i want to keep going. i'm really active with sports i play softball volleyball summerball. and im starting boxing soon, and im really excited for that. but the reason i want to lose weight is because i dont want to die at like 45 because of heart problems or diabeites. and looking slimmer is a plus too. i dont know how i came across this website but i started reading, and i really like what you guys have going here. it's great that you guy's are supporting everyone so much, and i wanted to join to get support and support other people to. but that's pretty much my story. what's your's?

Hey, I started at 170 as well! I had to take steroids for a prolonged period of time, so I gained quite a bit. Congrats on your loss so far! I bet the boxing will help a lot. What kinds of stuff are you eating?
I'm at 135-140...not quite sure as my scale is broken and I have been less than eager to get it fixed. I hit a snag and havent been as motivated lately; I'd really like to get to 120 in the end (I'm 5'4 and eighteen)

Well, I had leukemia. I can give you all the gory details if you like, :P or we can stop there.
Well, I really turned my eating around. I have fallen back into bad habits currently, but I was mostly focusing on good portion sizes and having a calorie deficit. Are you counting calories?
I also walked on the treadmill and outside...A LOT! :P
