| Oh ok. I am so excited for Thanksgiving. But, it is going to be the first thanksgiving that I will actually still try to live within my goals for myself in terms of eating. Any tips of not making thanksgiving a huge day of calories?

hey diamond--how's it going?
Okay, so I had my first Thanksgiving dinner today--yes I said first! I have another one on Thursday!!
I guess it went okay. i only got seconds on deviled eggs. So, I had mashed poatoes, sweet potatoes, a roll, some turkey, mac n cheese, three deviled eggs (three halves, not three whole eggs) ambrosia...and then dessert. A small sliver of pumpkin pie, one of cheese cake, and then two pieces of fudge. Oh, and a whole bunch of raw veggies and some cheese cubes.
So, I'm pretty sure I ate too much. But I don't care. i'm not all that miffed. I have plenty of time to make it up before the end of the challenge, and I enjoyed every bite (well, not really of the ambrosia, don't much care for coconut..) and I enjoyed seeing my family.
Only have to go to school Monday and Tuesday this week! Yay!

DIV--
Try to eat slowly?
Drink water? ( I know, you already do...if I was have as good about drinking water as you I would be so set!!)
Don't get seconds...
Savor every bite
Def. don't eat after you're full, just because it's there.
Those are m y best suggestions.

| Thats great. And ice cream is soo good too. I have reformed my drinking habits totally, which is very good for me to finally do that. Now, I just have to really work on the rest of everything else. It was funny. I had my status on facebook as addicted to bottle water. And one of my friends posted on my wall about how I was wasting oil, etc. It was a little humorous.

My sister made cake today!! It was sooo good. And I ate two pieces....mmmmmm. Couldn't resist.
Last night, I realized that I am starting to make healthier decisions overall. I am currently at 193. Slow and steady I guess. But, I don't feel lighter. But, last night I was in a this smaller Giant Eagle and I looked at all the healthier food instead. I even considered getting sushi instead, bit i wasnt hungry. and then i got vitamin water instead of pepsi. Whooo whooo!! Doing better.
I'm joing a gym on FRIDAY!!!!! I am soo excited. Weight loss, here I come!! I want to lose three pounds by the first... I'll try!!

I wanna try going to a gym. You know getting some of that weight taken off.
BUT!!
I get really freaked out and i dont like to go places alone. At all. I want someone to go with me but everyone that lives in my house is all gimpy and stuff. The only one MIGHT be Micah. But he's already major skinny. He doesnt need to go to the gym.

Man my thanksgiving was awesome i know its a bit late but i just thought id share, just to show how evil my diet is, so i hopped on the scale morning of turkey day and i was 198. i then went over to my uncles for the actualy thanksgiving dinner, we said grace ate our ginormous turkey, 30lbs!!! i got an entire drumstick and 2 twice baked potatoes, omg it was so good, then 3 glasses of sparkling cider and 4 brownies later i was thouroughly stuffed, it was sofunny my little cousin broke 3 of his mothers wine glasses doign dishes man was he in for a long night haha. But then i got home and hopped on the satanic scale again registering a whopping 206lbs ! haha it felt great though. Next day i felt thouroughly energized and decided to set a new record for my self so i hopped on my bike and rode my longest distance on my bike yet, 55 miles! in a little under 3 hours, it was such a beautiful ride through the wine country here in california where i live, was one of my best weekends in a long time. just felt like posting that tidbit of my existence here :P

Sorry... I have been quite busy and to be truthful a little purposefully staying away due to a little guilt. I have not been too good at following the diet or the way of eating and living I first planned. I am back to how I was before. The only thing is that I did lose some weight. I am down three pant sizes... whoo! But, i need to step on it a little more. I am going to try to start this truly not to fail on January first. It gives me a wonderful idea. I think this year, I will plan New Year's resolutions that I will try to succeed. The next year is going to be quite difficult in many ways. By the end of 2008, I hopefully will be admitted in a college or have applications down in addition to finisihin all that annoying testing, especially countless AP tests in May. I start crew on January 7th, which is going to be very intense. 2 hours/day of hardcore running and erging. Crew at my school is like a cult. It is intense. People run 10k at practice. But, I guess what doesn't kill you makes you stronger. In addition to all of that and school work, I am starting an EMT class in the beginning of January. So, my life is going to become quite hectic. Being slimmer and more happy about my weight would be a good thing.
so, I guess due to the date and whatnot... does anyone have any new year's resolutions...
Here are mine:
1. This year I want to lose all the weight that I would like to lose. One year... I would like to lose around eight to ten pounds per month till I reach my goal weight. My goal is that next new year's I will not make a single resolution to lose weight. I would like to try to go cold turkey with pepsi.
2. School... work hard and kick major behind in school and on college tests so i can get into the college of my choice.
Hope everyone had a wonderful break and holiday! Happy holidays!

Hey diving! Yay, I'm glad there are still peoples here! :)
I KNOW the guilt. That's why I haven't kept up as good as usual in my diary. But Iam ready to join the hoards of people starting over for the new year :P
RESOLUTIONS:
be down to GOAL (120) by the time I start college in August
try very very hard not to slack off at school this final semester because that would look soooo bad on my transcript
read through the whole Bible (I did it a couple years ago, and need to again
spend loads of time with my friends
lower my body fat percentage (I'm not sure what it is currently...I'll let you know
(To be continued, if necessary)

I've looked around a little bit... Seems like it'll be helpful. I'm basically trying to get into shape so I can ride better.
Besides that, I just want to get some good eating and excersizing habits before I get too old and get stuck with the bad habits for life. =/

So, I just relazed that I cannot be at like 120 pounds or so. One is that I am extremely muscular and especially now doing crew, muscle weighs more than fat. Also, I don't have the small frame. My arm is "thick" because of the bicep. I will not ever have the small type of arm. I think my goal is just to get to a size 10 juniors or under (of course). As I get more fit, I will gain weight on the scale by gaining more muscle. Haha, my silly revelation...
Also, I went to get underarmour and I got a size large for underarmour shorts, which is even a little loose. Im happy!!

Hey kreese, GP, and daisy!! Glad you all found us.
Hey GP--what are your plans to reach your goal? :)
Daisy--Are you sure 100 is a good goal for you? It seems pretty low. I am two inches shorter than you, and my final goal is where you are now.
Kaylie--Congrats on your loss so far!! What have you been doing?
Hope to hear from you all again soon.

| Well, I signed up for an aerobics class at school. It was literally one of my classes so I HAD to go, three times a week, no excuses. And man, we worked hard. Plus on top of that, I made a conscious effort to stop eating when im just bored and not actually hungry. That made a huuuge difference. My only concern now is that my classes are changing so I won't have aerobics anymore. I don't know how I'm gonna stay motivated to just work out on my own. I don't know why I never posted in this thread before. It occured to me that I've been posting all over this site since August but never formally introduced myself....
Well, my name is 1seekspie (on CPH...you don't even want to know my real name). I'm 15 years old, and I joined after being on the brink of developing an eating disorder. I found a LOT of helpful information and have slowly improved. In fact, this is probably the healthiest I've ever been (I was a little junk-food addict between the ages of 3 and 13.)! Now I'm just here for occasional questions about food/exercise, and to give my never-ending opinions to others.
Anyway, I hope everyone (that celebrates it) had a fun easter !
It was beautiful today in Denver, how's weather elsewhere in the US? What about Canada, the UK, ect?

I love your never ending opinions
Weather here's pathetic. I thought it was supposed to be spring. I want sunshine and daisies...instead it's like 40 degrees and we have a chance of snow
Hey justin--if you're still here--im really sorry I never posted. I read your post but didn't have time to reply at the time, and then I forgot...
I have msngr, but I'm not allowed to give out my email to ppl I don't know in relief But we could chat here, if we arranged to get on at the same time, or just post in a thread and go back and forth..

Well I'm glad some one appreciates my never-ending opinions (my mom is on the brink of insanity ).
The Weather in Tenessee is pathetic? Aw, that stinks! I'm counting the days 'til it reaches 60 so I can bike outdoors for a change.
Anyway, hello to Justin! I don't have MSN messenger either (my parents are super strict about these things) but keep posting and I (plus all the other frequent posters) will keep answering!
For now, it's time to watch Family Guy .......

Yeah, I didn't mean to imply that we got tons...it snowed for quite a while, flurried anyway, but the tiniest bit of accumulation melted pretty fast.
I got a Walmart gift card (bought a rodney atkins cd), some reeses eggs, and a little stuffed bunny
I'm glad the next candy-holiday isn't for awhile (4th of july doesn't really focus on chocolate

so, i'm new to this forum.. and i definitely know what it's like to srtuggle with weight!
back when i was 13 i was 230 pounds. i worked hard and lost about 40 pounds in 5 months. then i got lazy and gained about 20 of those pounds back.
after a while i decided i needed to take action, so i stepped up my game and got down to 150! i had a 29" waist and i felt on top of the world.
THEN i lost my great grandpa and we had to put my cat down all in a span of two months and i piled the weight back on. i'm now 17 and i'm graduating next summer and my goal is to look good for grad and be healthy for university since i will be a busy nursing student pursuing med school!
i'm taking the slimfast route again since it worked so well for me last time and i'm definitely going to keep it off this time. i'm going to set an "emergency size" so once i hit that size i know i have to start exercising/smartening up again.
conrats to everyone's success so far

An emergency size is great!! I think a lot of people here have things like...a pair of pants that better always fit, a number they'd better never see on the scale again
What do you eat with slimfast? JUST slimfast products, or do you ioncorporate some slimfast with regular foods.
Oh, and be sure to check out the CPH tutorial which has some great tips.

Emergency weight....I like it!
Personally, I have a system of alerts:
Green Alert: You're sweet and slim
Yellow Alert: Not bad
Orange Alert: You could lose a pound
Pink Alert: Oooh, better be careful
Red Alert: Don't you dare ask for desert...
BLACK ALERT: Throw the fridge out the window and start jogging dangit!
