I was looking through the forum topics and couldn't find a thread about this, so I figured I'd start one up. I just bought a free weight yesterday to use at home for the toning of my arms and shoulders. Does anyone do weights at home? Do you think sitting on any chair would be ok as long as it's straight and solid? I know that keeping a good posture is important while lifting, but I know the kind of seat you sit on probably matters  as well. I don't really have a proper weight bench so I'm just wondering what else would work just as good

Doesn't matter just so it's sturdy, safe and comfortable.

I do all my dumbbell exercises standing!

P.S.

Too bad you aren't closer... I have a bench to give away!

Darn! I really would love to have a bench. I thought about doing my exercises standing but there's this one tricep move I prefer to do half-kneeling, half standing. I guess I will have to look up some moves online, unless you already have a helpful link for me already?

I do my lifting in my computer chair  (But I use a laptop so there's no desk around)
