I opened it up several times, never found anything unusually worn or any rub spots or ANYTHING to indicate there's a problem. So why does it make this horrible grinding noise when I pedal? There's a lot of friction too, sometimes it suddenly gets easier/harder to pedal. If there was a problem, you think there'd be some physical evidence of it but I can't find any and that's what drives me nuts. I'm getting really sick of every piece of equipment I own being a piece of........but I really don't know what else to do.
I finally found some old and new shavings where something was rubbing, but I just can't figure the problem out. I loosen the nearby screw, I tighten it, I test it repeatedly, but nothing seems to fix the stupid thing. I'm just so mad. I'm furious, in fact. I give up. I don't think I'll ever spend another dollar on anything fitness-related ever again. I've never had a single item ever live up to the cost or its reputation.
Omed wrote: Hello everyone,.... there is some tips for that whose exercise bike makes a grinding noise. If your exercise bike is placed on an uneven surface, you may notice noise and some wobbling while you use it. Choose a level surface or adjust the base in order to maintain a level position. If you use the stationary bike on hardwood flooring, it may operate louder than if you install the machine in a carpeted room. To prevent wobbling during use, keep your behind centered on the saddle without leaning to one side or the other.
